Chapter 3 - A Tad Too Rash

I glance uneasily at the window as I heard a yell coming from her direction.
"Jasper! Peridot! Help me!"

Wait. Should we even help her after she runs away from us?
Wow, such an idiot.
Expecting assistance after her betrayal.
She can't even defend herself from two measly humans! How sad!

"She's so pathetic."
Jasper hissed, turning to face the back of the room. "I'm going to go look for the gems. These humans have that waste-of-a-gem handled."
I chuckled and a smirk appeared on my face.
"Indeed."
I mumbled as Jasper walked back to the warp pad.

Yellow Diamond wouldn't be that mad, right?

In a flash of light she was gone, leaving me alone in the "base" with only the faint sound of nearby fighting.
"Pssh. Wonder who's beating who. Heh, not."

I obviously didn't care much anymore.

Sighing, I turned and silently stepped up the stairs to do some "snooping", as the humans call it.
I found an unusual human monitor in front of the poorly made bed.
" hm."
I hummed as I picked up an oddly shaped device wired to the monitor.
Inspecting the object, I pressed a button and the monitor flickered on with what read 'The Legend Of Zelda: The Windwalker' in human language.
I assumed it'd be useless to figure out this "entertainment " device so I put it back down and sat on the edge of the bed, humming the "music" that came from it.
"Peri?"
A sudden quiet voice from behind made me jump and spin my back around to see Lapis staring at me from the side of the bed.
"Lapis!?" I stood up, my voice shocked that she even came back.
"What are you doing!?" I whisper-yelled in a hushed tone. "Jasper will be back any minute, She only went to look for the Crystal Gems!"
I pushed her back by the shoulders.
"Get out of here!"

The last thing Jasper and I need now is for an unpermitted shattering to be on our hands. And if Lapis didn't beat it now, Jasper will make sure she doesn't make it back to HomeWorld in one piece!

My shoulders tensed up as I heard the warp pad beam in from behind us.
"Too late..." I whispered, terrified as to what trouble Jasper would get us into.
"Hey Peridot! I found an old distress beac-" Jasper called out before noticing us.
"Lapis!? What are you doing here?! And why are you talking to my Peridot?!" She yelled at Lapis and jumped in front of us in one leap from the bottom floor after setting down what appeared to be some primitive wailing stone.
Oh jeez...
"Jasper! I'm not your-"
"Shut it!"
I flinched.
"You're mine if I say so!"
She jabbed a finger in my chest and I just gave her a look of defiance as she turned to get in Lapis' face.

"And you, you worthless piece of gem!"

"I'm tired of you always coming back and trying to get with my Peridot! You're like a parasite!"

Lapis narrows her eyes as she yells back,
"I'm the parasite?! Who's the one that practically feeds off of Peridot?! You wouldn't be anything without her!"

"Take that back!"
Jasper grabs her hair and pulls her up eye to eye.
I gulped as Lapis screamed and kicked her legs back and forth.

"No! It's true!"

"You're not making things much better Lapis..."
I quietly warned through clenched teeth and she kicked Jasper in the stomach, causing her to groan and throw her into the wall on the side.
"Say it again, I dare you!"

Lapis lay panting on the floor for a moment before replying.
"You're a parasite!!!"
She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Okay. She's practically digging her own grave by now, you need to do something.

Jasper growled and grabbed her hair again, slamming her into the wall.
"You miserable little-"
Without thought, I grabbed Jasper's arm before she could try to punch Lapis and she whipped her head around to glare at me.
"What!?" She roared, I started to break into a nervous sweat.
"...Stop. You're hurting her when we could be working on the beacon."
I managed to calm my voice enough to ease Jasper a little, she sighed, dropped Lapis and walked down to the torn couch, we soon followed.
"Fine. Get to work."
Jasper ordered, sitting down on the couch with her arms thrown over the back.
I huffed and made a move toward the beacon, yet the door creaking open soon stopped me.

A/N - I will try to update tomorrow.
