Titles I Picked Up This Week:
Batgirl #50:
This issue was absolutely awful. Probably the worst issue of the whole entire run. They wrote Babs in this issue as a complete bitch instead of the kind and compassionate person Barbara Gordon should be. They made the rest of the Batfamily out to be a bunch of bafoons. There was also a lot of dumb moments such as Babs yelling about not getting an allowance from Bruce!? Why would a grown as adult complain about that? Plus the way she acts towards Dick who had just been brainwashed by the joker is just awful and it completely contradicts how she was written in the Nightwing and Batman books in joker war. She comes across as a whiny teenager moping about not having her own rogues gallery at one point. Where is the maturity? I also found it annoying at the way she acts towards her dad whose son just died. (Yes I know his son was bad but it's still Jim's son and they just died and that death affected him). Plus there's her thing with Jason Bard which is lame. This guy is supposed to be this detective and yet he can't tell she's batgirl despite her mask not hiding her face at all? It sucks that the book ended with this issue. Barbara Gordon deserves better than this. Hopefully she will be written better in future issues.

Batman Beyond #48:
This issue was ok. Terry goes back into time with booster gold to save Bruce from something. Kind of a strange final arc for Batman beyond to end on. But, we only have 2 more issues left until it's over. So I'll wait and see how it goes.

Batman: Three Jokers #3:
So this was the big finale of this arc. I'm not sure what to make of it. The art work is fantastic in this issue. I'll give the book that and also the stuff with Batman and Joe Chill is great. But, some stuff like the Jason and Barbara stuff feels really forced and out of nowhere. Jason saying he'd give it all up for Babs and saying he loves her doesn't really add up. They don't have a history together. Not like her and Dick. Also, Jason has other love interests in the comics he's had way closer connections with like Artemis. You mean to tell me he's give it all up for someone he's never been with as opposed to someone who he's been with and spent a considerable amount of time with?

Dark Nights: Death Metal Rise of the New God #1:
I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. Probably my favorite of the tie ins.

Detective Comics #1029:
This one is interesting. But.. I feel like there's still some problems. Namely the fact that Bruce isn't spending every waking minute trying to find Damian after what happened in teen titans. That's the main thing I'm interested in and the end of this issue teases that Damian is going to play a big part in the next arc. I just hope they fix his character after the damage that was done.

Red Hood: Outlaw #50:
Ok so on top of the batgirl finale we have a sort of red hood finale. At least for Lobdell and him writing Jason Todd. This issue felt super rushed and focused a lot on a character who was hardly in the rebirth run. I'm also disappointed in how Artemis doesn't go back to gotham with Jason. I really liked seeing them work together and play off each other. I'm going to miss seeing her in this book. But this issue did feel rather rushed. I'm just getting ready to see how the new writer takes over this book. I don't know if it will be good or bad but I'm going to give it a chance.
