Chapter 20
1 year later...
"Jungkook! Hurry up! I want to take pictures before we leave!"
Jungkook rolled his eyes at his mother's voice. He finished tying his tie, grabbed his phone, and headed downstairs.
Once downstairs, his parents immediately started taking pictures with their phones. They were yelling at him to smile, and pose.
"We're sending some to your grandparents! They love your smile!" His dad said happily, squinting at his phone, even though he had his glasses on.
"Okay! That's enough! Can we go now? Hyung is waiting for me." Jungkook said impatiently, already heading out to the car.
His parents sighed and followed their son.
_____
"Hyung!"
Hoseok turns around at the voice he's come to know and love. Jungkook is jogging towards him, looking good as ever in his suit.
Hoseok smiles widely at his boyfriend, and opens his arms, catching the younger and holding him close.
"Hey, baby. Ready for today?" Hoseok asks.
Jungkook nods against the elder's chest, "Ready for it to be over so I can be with you."
"I was just with you yesterday."
"You fell asleep during our movie."
"But I was still with you."
Jungkook rolls his eyes. "Whatever. I gotta head to the gym now, Tae has been texting me nonstop. I'll see you after?"
"Of course, baby," Hoseok pecks his lips, and smiles, "Good luck! I'll be the loudest one cheering!"
"I don't doubt it!"
__________
After the graduation ceremony, Jungkook met up with Hoseok, their friends, and Jungkook's parents.
His parents decided to take them all out to a restaurant for dinner. The boys were grateful and kept calling them saints for simply feeding them.
Since Taehyung and Jungkook were the graduates, they got to choose dessert. Of course the others complained, but nothing serious. Jungkook shared his sundae with Hoseok, while Taehyung tried to keep his to himself, fending off a wild Jimin.
When the night was over, Jungkook stayed at Hoseok's apartment.
(Two months after he graduated, Hoseok moved out of his parent's house, finding an apartment nearby. And while he insisted that he didn't need help, his parents still sent him some money every month.)
They watched movies and cuddled on the couch, sharing small kisses here and there. Soon enough, the small kisses turned heated and Jungkook was on Hoseok's lap before he knew it.
They took it slow that night, feeling every inch of each other and loving one another. The small apartment was filled with sounds of not lust, but love. Two lovers so deep into the other, nothing could break them apart.
When they had both finished, they took a shower, lathering each other up and rinsing off. They put on some pajamas, which consisted of a t-shirt and boxers, and got into bed. They whispered sweet nothings as Jungkook fell asleep with his head on the elder's chest.
_____
"Are you ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
Jungkook looked out the window as Hoseok pulled up at the university campus. It was move-in day, and then three days after classes would start. The only reason Hoseok was dropping him off today was because he insisted his parents didn't come. They would be crying, then Jungkook would cry, and he does not want to cry on his first day of college.
So, no parents.
Besides, the university was close to his parents house. A 30 minute drive at the most. They shouldn't miss him too much.
Hoseok found a parking spot close enough, and turned the car off. Jungkook was extremely grateful that his boyfriend was able to take the day off from work. The younger had insisted on coming to the campus himself, since he finally felt like an adult and wanted to act like one. However, his persistent boyfriend claimed he had enough vacation days saved up to take just one day off.
The two got Jungkook's suitcases out of the trunk, which was only two. Jungkook didn't want to take a lot of things, since he knew he'd just buy new stuff.
Jungkook tells Hoseok to follow him, as he already knows where his dorm is when he we went on a tour recently. The two held hands as they walked, looking around at all the students and staff bustling about. Clubs, sports teams, frats, and sororities all had booths set up to promote and invite new members.
Jungkook had thought about joining a frat, but he thought better of it, deciding that's not really his scene. He thought about the different science clubs they had, and considered the physics club. He's still on the fence about it.
The two boys finally reach the dorm. The door is already open, and a boy is sitting on one of the beds, already made up with covers and pillows.
The boy is texting on his phone, so he doesn't notice Jungkook and Hoseok, yet.
Jungkook takes a second to study him, and Hoseok lets him, staying quiet.
Jungkook finally speaks.
"Hello."
The boy startles, and drops his phone. He blushes from embarrassment and quickly picks up the device. Jungkook bites his lip to keep from laughing.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I'm assuming you're my roommate, Hwang Hyunjin?" Jungkook explains, stepping into the room some more. Hoseok sets the luggage down on the empty side of the room.
The boy, Hyunjin, smiles, and exclaims, "Oh, yes! Jeon Jungkook! Nice to meet you!"
Hyunjin stands and bows, Jungkook doing the same. Standing straight, Hyunjin eyes Hoseok, who's smiling, and standing behind Jungkook.
Jungkook notices and eyes widen a bit. "Oh! Sorry, this is my boyfriend, Hoseok."
Hoseok playfully pouts and lightly smacks Jungkook's shoulder, "How dare you forget your hyung? Geez, you meet one new person and you suddenly forget all about your old hyung, huh?"
Jungkook mildly panics even though some where in the back of his mind he knows that his boyfriend is just messing around.
"Ah, no! Hyung, I could never!"
Hyunjin just chuckles at their interaction, not wanting to interrupt.
Hoseok then smiles (Hyunjin thinks he just saw the fucking sun) and hugs Jungkook from behind.
"Just kidding, babe. I know you'd never forget about me," he looks at Hyunjin then, still smiling wide as ever, "Nice to meet you, Hyunjin. Treat my Jungkookie nice, yeah?"
"Of course! He seems pretty cool, already. Hey, do you guys want to come to my friend's party tonight? Her name is Dahyun. It's just to celebrate the new year, and give us a chance to loosen up for classes on Monday."
Jungkook hasn't been to a party in awhile. He went to a few on Taehyung's insistence, and enjoyed himself, so maybe he'd give college parties a chance.
"I'm down if you are, Hobi," Jungkook asks, looking back at his boyfriend, "Unless you can't then it's cool."
Hoseok just smiles, "Yeah, I'm down."
Hyunjin smiles and bounces excitedly, "Oh great! Here, let me give you my number and I'll text you the address."
Jungkook and Hyunjin exchange numbers. He then explains he has to meet up with Dahyun, and their other friends. Jungkook and Hoseok bid him good bye, and they're left alone in the room.
It's quiet for a few seconds until Jungkook speaks up, "Did I just make a new friend?"
His boyfriend chuckles at the younger's cuteness. "Yes, you did. How do you feel, baby?"
"Like... Like, I can socialize? Outside of you guys? I just meant to introduce myself, not have a full conversation, and get invited to a party. Hyung, did I do it right? Was I weird?"
Hoseok just laughs harder and shakes his head, "Jungkook, no! Jesus, no! You did fine! You made a friend! Keep it up, he might let you into his friend group."
"Friend group? Then that means I'll be in two friend groups."
"Yes, congrats, you did math."
"This is overwhelming."
Jungkook sits down on the naked bed and takes a deep breath. He's excited for college and the friends and the experience, don't get him wrong. He just didn't think it'd be this overwhelming. He feels so nervous now that he's here and doing college things.
Once he's calmed down, let it sink in that he's here and it's happening and a lot of things are going to happen from here on out, he helps Hoseok unpack his things.
College. Jungkook is starting a new chapter in his life, and he's excited, yet anxious for it. He's seen how movies and dramas portray college life, but he doesn't believe in all that mumbo jumbo. Jungkook doesn't know what to expect, but he honestly can't wait.
This also means a new chapter in his relationship. He feels matured and old enough for Hoseok. Not that Hoseok ever made him feel inferior because of his age, but Jungkook just thinks since he's in college now, things will change.
Jungkook is expecting their relationship to shift, actually. For better or worse, that he doesn't know. Albeit, he's prepared for either one. Him and Hoseok have talked about this. They talked about all the possibilities and outcomes. Some were devastating and others were enjoyable.
They didn't promise to stay together forever, or anything like that. They didn't really promise anything. They just agreed to let things happen naturally.
And on that note, Jungkook's new chapter begins.
