Chapter 11
Jungkook walked into school with a sigh. It was kind of quiet, since he'd always have Taehyung by his side being unnecessarily loud at 7:30 in the morning. He greeted the other students with a smile as he made his way to his locker.
Jungkook honestly didn't think he would be this sad. He knows Tae is alright, and getting the treatment he needs. But, he was so used to having Taehyung around. They have practically been inseparable since they met. It was like Jungkook's other half was missing.
Jungkook got his book from his locker and went to class. He had about 20 minutes to spare, but he didn't care. The teacher wasn't there yet, and for that Jungkook was grateful. He sat a desk and set his belongings down.
He took his phone out of his pocket and sent Taehyung a text. He knew the boy wouldn't be awake at this time, but he still sent it. He kept sending texts until the bell rang for school to start.
It was going to be a long day.
-
"Have you guys progressed yet?"
"I have no clue what you mean."
Jin sighed as he looked at Hoseok. He knew Hoseok knew what he was referring to. So, naturally Jin waited until Hoseok spoke again.
"Oh. Right. Nothing really. We texted last night, but it wasn't that interesting. Should I.... never mind."
"No, tell me."
Hoseok sighed and picked at his nails. "Should I... take him out again? N-not like a date or something! Just, two friends hanging out, you know?"
Jin smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah, I know. Take him to the movies; he likes romance or comedies. Maybe a rom-com."
Hoseok looked at Jin skeptically. Because as far as he knew, Jin didn't socialize with Jungkook. Like, at all. But it's quite simple: He doesn't know about their silent friendship. Jin would tell him about it, but he didn't think it was necessary. Hoseok would think the same.
"I just know, okay? Take him on Friday."
"If I can get the courage to ask him..."
Hoseok looked away from Jin, and over to Jungkook, who was smiling wide while talking on his phone. He assumed he was talking to his best friend. Hoseok would go over there, and chat him up, but he didn't want to take away his talking time.
He'd ask later.
But Hoseok couldn't help think he forgot something.
-
Hoseok was sitting at the front of the school, waiting for the bell to ring. He decided to ditch the last 5 minutes of class, so he wouldn't miss the younger.
Hoseok was nervous, to say the least. He doesn't think he'll be able to go through with this; with Jin's idea. His stomach felt weird and he didn't know if he had to puke or take a shit. However, the bell rang so he couldn't make a decision.
He patiently waited for Jungkook to exit the doors along with the sea of other students. Once he saw him, he grabbed his elbow and pulled him to the side. Jungkook naturally freaked out and tried to release his grip.
"Kook, calm down! It's me, Hoseok!" Hoseok said, rolling his eyes. The younger stopped thrashing and turned to face the taller. His features immediately softened, but they quickly scrunched up in anger.
"You scared me half to death! Don't do that again!" Jungkook smacked Hoseok's arm, and was going to apologize until Hoseok laughed.
"Sorry, Kook. Didn't mean to." Hoseok smiled and lightly pinched the shorter's cheek.
Jungkook blushed and looked down at the cracking asphalt. "Did you need something, hyung?"
Hoseok almost forgot.
"Yeah, I needed to ask you something. Do you... uhh... do you," And Hoseok knows he's going to fuck up, "need a ride to the hospital?"
He couldn't do it. He was too nervous. The pressure was building up and he couldn't release it.
Jungkook blinked once. Then twice.
"No, thanks. I will take the bus. Thank you for the offer, hyung."
Okay, Jungkook really wanted to ride on his motorcycle again. But he won't admit that. Nope. Never will. No matter how badly he wants Hoseok to give him a ride. Honestly, he wants the older to insist on giving Jungkook a ride, but he'll also never admit this. Never.
"No that's gross. Come on, I'll give you a ride." Hoseok immediately grabbed the younger's hand and led him to his motorcycle.
Jungkook's face turned a bright red at the feeling of the older's hand in his. It was slightly bigger than his own and warm, comfortable. Jungkook didn't want him to let go at all.
Aish... stop this thinking, Jungkook. It's ridiculous. You don't like holding his hand, you don't like how it feels comfortable, you don't like how it makes you feel safe, and you definitely don't like Hoseok.
"Kook! Helloooo!" A hand waved in front of Jungkook's eyes and he looked up at Hoseok. He felt his face burn and knew he was blushing again.
"S-sorry, hyung. What were you saying?" Jungkook looked down, and scuffed his shoe on the asphalt of the student parking lot.
Hoseok handed him a helmet, and put his own on afterwards. Jungkook put the thing over his head and fastened the buckle. Hoseok got on the bike and waited for Jungkook.
When the younger situated himself, he started up the vehicle. "Remember: Hold on tight."
"I know."
Jungkook held tightly, not too much to block his airways, and they were off.
-
"Thank you again, hyung for the ride. I'll see you tomorrow." Jungkook smiled at the elder and started walking into the hospital doors.
It was now or never for Hoseok.
Hoseok deeply sighed and quickly went up Jungkook. He grabbed his wrist after calling out his name so the boy knew it was still Hoseok.
Jungkook turned and looked up at him. "Yes, hyung?"
"I uh was wondering if you'd like to, I don't know, hang out on Friday? We could go to the movies, if you want." Hoseok was looking at anything but Jungkook, for he was too nervous to look him in the eye and face rejection.
However, he was surprised by the other's answer.
"Sure, I'd love to!" Jungkook said excitedly. He loves going to the movies. "But... what happened to Saturday?"
Hoseok completely forgot about that. Dammit.
"We could still have our date- wait! Not date! It wasn't a date!" Hoseok was a complete and utter mess. He blamed the good looks of Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook tilted his head in confusion, "You said I could call it a date if I wanted to."
"I-I did! I just didn't think you would actually..."
"But I did. We have a date on Saturday, hyung."
Hoseok was confusion.
But he went along with it.
"Okay. And Friday?"
Jungkook smiled with a blush creeping onto his cheeks. "It's a date."
He bid the elder goodbye before disappearing into the big building. Hoseok did a little happy dance and shouted a loud 'yes!' When he received looks from other visitors, he apologized and went back to his bike. Hoseok reminded himself for the rest of the day that it was a date.
He was excited.
