THE YEAR IS 1979, THE PLACE IS THE ONE AND ONLY... LONDON. More and more South Asian immigrants move away from their homeland to the first-world country of the U.K. As the immigration rate goes higher, so does the racism in these first-world countries as well. And 14 (almost 15) year-old Shahid Malik couldn't hate his Pakistani parents and their sickening culture anymore. His culture gets him beaten up at his all-white school, never-ending racial slurs left and right, and having to handle peer pressure of having to fit in the bad way. Teenagers in London aren't friendly to people like Shahid unless you prove yourself.

As Shahid has somewhat proven himself to these white racist Englishmen, a new family moves into the house next door. And this family of two, a teenage daughter and a father, who happen to be Pakistani, which pleases his parents. As the teenage daughter (who appears to be a two-goody shoe at school and their brown culture) starts to attend Shahid's school, Shahid must make sure she doesn't find out his actions at school, so his parents don't find out either. Turns out ... the girl just might be more like him than he thinks.
