Ch 28
I'm sorry for the lack of artwork guys, I'll try to get some stuff done but I'm doing school, working third shift and writing these chapters.
Schedule's a bit tight rn, and I appreciate all of you. Nothing makes me happier than reading comments and seeing votes. If you're wondering if I recognize you if you do so regularly, yes I do.
Anyway sorry for the sappy A/N.
Love you guys❤️
Alastor's POV
I watched from the bar as Aria and Angel danced around the lobby. There was a twisted up feeling in my chest, watching Angel hold her like that, but I knew it was all in good fun.
Plus, the happy smile on her face was enough to make me swallow my pride.
The ice ball in my whiskey clinked against the sides of the glass as I rolled it around. I sighed softly, and my mind started once again to wonder to that demon.
There's something familiar about him, I can't quite pin it. Have we fought before?
Perhaps that's it.
Either way, it's bothering me, but what's bothering me even more is that I can't figure out what he wants.
To get rid of Aria...that much is obvious. But what is his motive when it seems she's done nothing to him? I've done nothing to this demon, so what is his problem with us.
"So, that's your woman, huh?" Came a gruff voice from next to me. I'd explained to the rest of the hotel staff Aria and I's situation. No one seemed very alarmed by it.
I turned to him and nodded, taking a drink of the abrasive liquid in my cup.
"Indeed...quite something, isn't she?" My gaze turned back towards her, my smile softening as the sound of her laughter drifted over to us, "the loveliest woman I've ever met..."
Husk was quiet for a second before I heard the sound of a glass setting down on the counter.
"I have to agree with ya, Al, as much as it pains me," he said, and I turned towards him again.
He shrugged, "of course, I see her differently than you do," he said, polishing a glass and keeping his eyes downcast, "she ain't nothin but a baby to me...I see a little girl when I look at her. She's a sweetheart."
These words surprised me coming from Husker, he's normally so offensive and...unpleasant.
His thoughtful look turned sour and he pointed at me, "don't tell her a word of what I just said." He growled and I nearly laughed at the quick return of his attitude.
I raised my eyebrows and took another drink of my whiskey, downing the rest of it.
"Don't worry Husker, your affections are safe with me, my friend," I said with a broad smile. He rolled his eyes and walked away to get away from me I'm sure.
Just then something grabbed my arm, and the small hands, yet tight grip, told me who it was.
I turned my eyes down to a slightly breathless Aria. She was smiling up at me, and she tugged on my arms.
"C'mon Al, come dance with us!" She giggled, and I glanced over at Angel who was giving me a smirk.
"No."
Her face fell into a pout, her ears lowering.
She got close to me, laying her head on my arm and batting her eyelashes, "pleaaaase?" She asked sweetly, and I tried to keep my composure intact.
Key word, tried.
It only took a few moments of that look from her and I folded, rolling my eyes and sliding off my barstool. She happily lead me over to her and Angel's makeshift dance floor.
"I think I owe you a dance, anyway," she giggled and I smirked.
"Let's see those moves, pimp," Angel said with that same sultry look on his face. I growled at him and he scoffed in amusement.
"Hot." He quipped and I rolled my eyes.
The music they were playing was modern, nothing I really recognized or knew the dances to.
However, from what I observed, there weren't really any set dance moves. They seemed to just be messing around.
Proving my suspicions, Aria grabbed my hands and began dancing to the beat of the music. I let her pull me every which way, doing my best to match her movements.
However, matching is difficult when each move is random.
Nonetheless, she seemed to be having fun. Her eyes squinted as she laughed, spinning herself around. Angel was also still dancing with us.
I have to admit, this lighthearted fun is a nice refresher after the past few weeks I've had. It seems I've never had a moment to just breathe, relax...
It was the same way before I first met her. She brings out the best in me, melting the ice around my heart so easily with the warmth of her smile.
She is my sunshine, my bright light...
Around her I can be myself, I can let down the walls that I've built to hold up a reputation that keeps me safe.
"Stop hoggin' my suga!" Angel said suddenly, stealing Aria away from me. He started twirling her around, and I watched with a soft smile.
Charlie entered the lobby, taking my attention away from the two goofballs in front of me. She was holding a stack of files, but upon seeing the scene, her eyes lit up and her smile widened.
She set the papers down and trotted over to the dance floor. Vaggie wasn't far behind her, but she stayed close to the wall, watching.
She had a rare calm expression, that irritated scowl she wears no where to be seen.
Her arms crossed casually over her chest and she smiled at Charlie's excitement.
"You guys are dancing?" Charlie asked me, a bounce in her step as she stopped in front of me. I looked over at Aria and Angel, quirking a brow.
"Something like that," I said, watching him shimmy with her—very off beat.
Charlie clapped her hands happily, and then I felt her fingers wrap around mine. I looked down at her, allowing her to take my other hand as well.
She did something very similar to Aria, pulling me around to follow her random dance moves.
Dancing with Aria and dancing with Charlotte are different experiences. Aria's touch makes me feel weak in the knees, a fuzzy feeling spreading through my chest and stomach.
Charlie's touch is more familiar. Warm. I still feel the same feeling as with Aria where I want to protect her, but that feeling is simply because Charlie is a dear friend.
With Aria that feeling runs deeper. It's more unconditional, unmoving.
That's how I first distinguished I was in love with her. The moment her touch felt different than everyone else's.
It was already strange to me that her touch didn't bring me discomfort. Then, it turned to warmth, followed by want.
Desire.
Unlike anyone else I know, I desire the feeling of her touching me.
Holding my hand, or my arm. A simple tug at my sleeve, or the timid way she grabs the back of my coat when she's nervous.
I love being her first choice of comfort.
"Switch!"
Angel called out, and Charlie giggled, releasing me as Aria released Angel. The girls switched and I had my partner back.
"Long time no see," she teased me, taking my hands up in hers.
I chuckled, taking her by surprise with a twirl. I then immediately pulled her into my chest, wrapping an arm around her securely.
She leaned back into me, and I swayed with her gently. The music wasn't exactly matching the mood I wished for, so I snapped my fingers and took us somewhere quieter.
She must've had her eyes closed, because she gasped softly after a moment.
"Are we...on the roof?"
Her soft question made me laugh slightly, and I continued rocking back and forth with her against my chest.
We were both facing out towards the city, the flashing lights and twinkling windows stretching for endless miles.
The pentagram in the sky spun leisurely, the color a dim red.
"Yes, my love. I wanted to have you to myself for a moment, excuse my selfishness," I said softly right by her ear. A purr started in her chest, vibrating into my arm that was wrapped around her.
She turned her head, looking at me. Our noses nearly touched and she shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips.
"I don't mind...it's nice up here," she said, and I hummed. She turned around, then, and wrapped her arms around my neck.
One perk of her becoming a demon is the height increase. I've still got about a foot or so on her, but doing simple things like this is much easier now.
The large 'Hazbin Hotel' sign lit up the side of her face, giving her a unique reddish pink highlight. I imagine it was doing the same to me.
I put my hands on her waist and started swaying slowly.
My eyes wandered, going down over her outfit, counting the freckles I could see. When I got back to her face she was wearing a playful smile.
"Like what you see?" She said teasingly, and I grinned, leaning down closer to her.
"You are gorgeous, mon amour," I purred at her, and watched the color rise to her face.
Her little teasing smile fell into a relaxed expression the closer I came to her. Her eyes were slightly wide, and her ears lowered before she glanced at my lips.
Still nervous around me, even now.
Not like I have any room to speak.
I pressed my lips against hers in a sweet kiss. She returned it, tilting her head. The sounds of the city faded away, my only focus being her.
Her hold around my neck tightened, and she moaned very quietly into my mouth. The noise made a shiver run down my back, and I couldn't help but smile against her lips.
Her fingers found my hair, sliding up over my scalp and twirling at the strands. Twirling turned into pulling, making a predatory growl rumble in my chest.
She didn't heed that warning, deepening the kiss that I started.
My grip on her hips tightened, the kiss that started off slow and sweet getting rougher by the second.
I pulled her against me, just wanting to feel her body on mine. I forgot how easy it is to get lost in a fantasy when I'm with her. How easy it is to lose control.
In my head she's already panting and breathless beneath me in my bed.
I squeezed her sides gently, earning a whine in response. Ultimately that nearly made me lay her face down on this roof and reclaim her body.
Thankfully I have more self control than that.
"Be careful with your noises, darling..." I said in between a break in our heated make out, "you're making me very hungry," my tone was nearly a threat, but that was simply because of how protective I feel over her in this moment.
There was silence between us aside from our heavy breathing as we continued our kiss, but she broke it again.
"Do you want me?" She asked me breathlessly, and I barely realized that I was nodding almost desperately.
She gave me another short kiss, still catching her breath. Her hands were against my chest now, and she grabbed the fabric of my shirt, tugging me closer to her.
"Then take me." She whispered against my lips.
I could practically feel the tension snap beneath the weight of those words.
We were back in my room before she could even blink. I don't think she realizes how seriously I'm taking her offer.
She's mine.
All mine.
