December 24 || Decorating
Zay
"What the heck is this?" Sasha asked, popping out of the box of decorations he was digging through. A headband with a pair of reindeer antlers on it was dangling upside down from his index finger and thumb.
I rolled my eyes, "honestly, Sash. It's reindeer antlers!"
"Oh. I knew that!" He said quickly and tossed it over his shoulder. I shook my head at him and went back to my own box.
"Somehow, we always seem to leave decorating to the last minute." Olvan was saying when I resurfaced. He was walking around, surveying the dining hall. There were four huge Christmas trees in each of the corners, all draped with tinsel and lights. Sasha's head appeared out of the box next to mine, tinsel and holly caught in his long black locks. I giggled.
He arched an eyebrow at me, "yeah?"
I pointed to my own hair, which was in a tight knot on my head. "Told you that you should've put it up."
Sasha's hand flew to his head and he cursed. "Okay, so maybe you were right."
"Maybe?" I climbed out of my box and walked over to help him.
"Fine. You were totally and completely correct. I should have followed your instructions." He said, sitting so I could untangle the mess on his head.
"Of course I was right." I smirked, "I'm always right."
Sasha burst into laughter. "Oh surrre. I'll hold you to that."
I cuffed him around the head. "You're lucky that I'm helping you."
"You're lucky that I keep you around." Sasha replied cheekily, earning himself a smack on the arm. I untangled his hair and the decorations, tossing them back in the box.
"Thanks." He said, standing and brushing invisible dirt off his thighs.
I looked around; while I'd been dealing with Sasha's little "problem", the others had finished decorating. My gaze drifted over the floor, landing on the reindeer headband from earlier. An idea formed in my mind as a smirk formed on my face.
"Uh-oh." Sasha commented, "you're getting that look again... I really don't like that look."
I punched his shoulder and skidded away, scooping the reindeer headband up.
Sasha saw this and paled. "Oh, no. I'm not wearing that! Don't even think about it!" He said, trying to run.
I cackled evilly and ran after him, sliding around corners and catching him in record time.
"Hey!" He whined as I slung an arm around his neck, trapping him in a headlock. He could've gotten away easily, but he didn't. I pushed his hair back, putting the headband on.
"Okay, you can let me go now." Sasha huffed.
I smirked, "not yet!" I reached into my pocket and pulled out a fake red nose with an elastic string attached. I slid it over his head, fixing it over his real nose. "Okay, now you're good."
His face was the colour of the fake reindeer nose as I took his hand and paraded him through the halls, singing "Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer" at the top of my lungs. The others joined me, all wearing reindeer headbands too. Lizzie passed me one, and we were all pretending to be Santa's reindeer. Then, Tyler joined us. He was dressed in a Santa Claus costume.
"Ho ho ho!" Tyler bellowed, "whoa there, my reindeer!"
We all burst into giggles and had to restart the song. Sasha's cheeks had gone back to their normal colour.
"You know Dasher and Dancer,
And Prancer and Vixen..." We sang.
Sasha leaned over and murmured, "you know you are my one and only Vixen," to the tune of the song instead of the verse.
Heat rushed to my face, which I'm pretty sure was flaming bright red as we sang on.
"Comet and my Cupid,
And Donner and Blizten." Sasha murmured the my to me and I poked him, embarrassed.
Then, an idea sprung into my mind and, along with the next verse, I sung; "but do you recall, the most handsome reindeer of all?"
Sasha grinned and took my arm, tugging me into the next room that we passed. "Rudolf the Red-Nosed reindeer?"
I booped his fake red nose, "you got it."
"Well, Rudolf would be nothing without the other reindeer, especially Vixen." He said matter-of-factly.
"Oh, so you admit that you're nothing without me?" I asked cheekily, planting my hands on my hips.
"Yes, but you're also nothing with me." He smirked.
"You egotistical glowing-nosed doofus." I shoved his chest.
Sasha winked and caught my arm, pulling me toward him. "I'm all that, but I'm also your egotistical glowing-nosed doofus."
I leaned into him, smiling. "Of course, doofus."
Sasha leaned down as if to kiss me, but I booped his nose and broke out of his hold, giggling.
"Hey!" He chased after me as I darted from the room.
That year, Christmas Eve was very... eventful. A group of eight was tromping around, dressed as reindeer and belting out "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and this reindeer in question was currently chasing another around the castle, whining about booped noses and ruined kisses.
So yaaaa. Hope you enjoyed! Christmas will be a very special episode, released sometime tomorrow! ★
