The following day Nova was released from the hospital as her injuries weren't serious and she could just walk them off. Most of the pain she had felt was from the impact of falling to the ground and the soreness was the aftermath of it. The doc advised her to take it easy and take a painkiller whenever she felt a small amount of pain creeping up on her. Nova thanked them and left the hospital with her painkillers in hand. However she still was worried about her father as he was still in the ER stable but still being monitored.

"Ugh can't believe this happened to us, but what are we going to do about the bills? Dad and I don't have the money and can't pay for the bills. Ugh and the docs told me that dad will need treatment and it won't be cheap. Better find some way to make some quick Jolts and pay for the treatment, hopefully even pay the bills," Nova said to herself.

She soon arrived at a teleporter that was near the hospital, Nova went in and was teleported back to her neighborhood. Arriving in the old worn out teleporter Nova turned around and saw the same kind of people she saw before the accident. Tiered Nova just walked past all of them and headed to the apartment planning to rest.

However when Nova arrived to the apartment door she saw a holographic sign that said "Rent Past Due, Voice Commands changed,"

"What the fuck! AGH!" Nova screamed before kicking the door as hard as she could.

With no other choice Nova went to one of the nearby air vents, ripped it off the wall, which wasn't hard to do since it was old and the screws were rusted, and climbed inside. She crawled through the vents and made her way to the apartment, when she arrived at her home she punched the vent cover as hard as she could and soon it came off. Nova crawled out and fell down to the floor below, she groaned, got up and went to the living room.

Once there she sat down on the couch and plopped her head down on a pillow. Even though she had school that day she didn't feel like going for a day or two as she was both mentally and physically exhausted. So she decided to take some mental health days to rest and brainstorm some ways she could make jolts and pay for the rent and the medical bills till her dad recovered.

"Hmm... maybe dad has something in his room that could give me some ideas or even some jolts. I know he's always told me to never go into his room nor should I take money from there without his permission, but desperate times call for desperate measures," Nova told herself as she got up and went to her fathers room.

She opened the door and her fathers room had some pretty basic things in any other room. There was a two person bed where he used to sleep with her mom, now in place was a photo of her mom laying on one of the pillows. Nova didn't question it and assumed it was her dads way to cope with his loss, that and spending time with her as she has resemblance to her mother. She turned away from the bed and saw the rest of the room and the items that were in it.

The room also contained a desk, a motion activated pixelated light, and a holographic computer and keyboard. Nova decided to search the desk and see if anything was inside; however, before she even took a step close to it something started glowing from underneath her fathers bed. Curious Nova kneeled down and pushed past some items placed under the bed. When she had pushed everything out of the way Nova spotted a plastic see thru bag that held some items in it.

She reached under the bed, grabbed onto the bag, and pulled it out to get a better look at the contents inside. Once she had the bag fully out from under the bed Nova saw that it was bigger than she originally thought. The contents inside were a cybernetic eye implant, shoulder blade implants, a right and left arm implants, and finally a leg implant that belonged to the left leg.

"Wow okay where did dad get this stuff?... Wait, OMG! These are illegal Implants! Okay now I'm even more curious, but I wonder how much they'd sell? Better ask DK if he knows anything about the price on them," Nova said as she got up and went back into the living room. She then called up DK to tell him about her findings and ask about the price, hoping she could sell them and get enough jolts.

"Hey DK it's me Nova, first I wanted to thank you for the help, the chip you gave me worked perfectly, aside from some lag it was just what I needed," Nova explained.

"Ahh see, I told you it would work, of course the lag is something I'll need to fix, now did you need something else?" DK asked.

"Yeah I found something under my dads bed, some illegal implants, sending you a screenshot right now," Nova explained as she took a picture with her cyberware and sent it to DK.

"Ohh that's some nice stuff, but it wouldn't sell for very much even on the black market, I'd say that they would cost around 12K Jolts," DK explained.

"What the hell! That's not even a quarter of what I need! Come-on DK they've gotta cost more than that!" Nova exclaimed angrily.

"Sorry kid but no joke, that's what they cost, however I do suggest something you could do with them," DK said.

"Huh? Like what?" Nova asked curious as to what DK was implying she'd do.

"Hehe, well become a Cybernetic Advanced Vigilante of course! Just come by my shop and I can have those bad boys installed in an instant," DK explained.

"What?! You're crazy DK! You know that dad will kill you when he finds out about this, not to mention I will be arrested if the authorities find out I have illegal implants!" Nova exclaimed, showing her concerns and hesitation towards getting the implants.

"I know but whoever said that you had to walk around in public with them? I have material here you can use to hide the arms and you could use your hair to cover the eye. As for the shoulder blades just make sure any shirt or top you have on covers them up when not in use, finally just wear some shoes and long stockings to cover up the leg," DK explained.

"Um... can I think about it?" Nova asked.

"Sure sure kid, you can just come by when you've made your choice," DK said.

The two then ended the call, and Nova sat back down on the couch and thought over her conversation with DK. On one hand the idea did sound good as word on the street and internet says that Cybernetic Advanced Vigilantes did get lots of Jolts, but on the other hand getting implants is forever, not to mention the ones she had were illegal. The last thing she wanted was getting in trouble with the authorities, they already think pretty low of everyone living here, her and her father including.

"Dam DK why do you always gotta be putting crazy ideas into my head. Not to mention ideas that are dangerous and could get me arrested," Nova said out loud to herself.

Time passed and Nova soon found herself drifting off till she fell into a deep sleep. The following day Nova left for school this time in a clean and dry uniform as her father was able to pay the jolts needed for the washer and dryer.

She sighed, feeling depressed and still in very deep thought about what DK had suggested last night. Nova had done some digging into the implants and learned lots of interesting facts about them. For instance the shoulder blades had jets and wings compacted into them so the user could fly with them. The arms provide extra strength and reflexes in the upper body, they could also stretch to great lengths allowing extra grabbing range. The leg allowed the user to run faster and jump much higher. The eye was the most interesting, as it allowed the user to see very far away, shoot lasers, and even cloak with their surroundings.

However she was hesitant to have them installed not because they were illegal but because if DK installed them she'd be in a world of pain. This was because DK didn't have any anesthetics so she'd be conscious and feeling everything happening. That was something she never wanted to experience especially if she was on pain killers right now.

As she made her way to her school the feeling of eyes burning in the back of her head hit her like a metal slab. Nova looked around to find the source of the feeling and she found it, much to her dismay. It was Cerise and her group of bratty friends, which was the last thing she wanted to deal with today.

Nova just turned around and pretended she didn't see them as she knew they were planning to bully her. However as she tried to make her way to class she felt a harsh yank on the back of her shirt. She was roughly dragged to the back area of the school where there were no cameras or teachers in sight.

The unknown stranger then threw Nova harshly against the wall, the force of the impact had put her in a light daze but Nova soon recovered from it. Once recovered Nova took a good look at her attacker and let out an audible groan when she saw that it was Cerise again.

"Cerise what the hell do you want?" Nova asked in anger and annoyance.

"Oh nothing, just wanted to tell you to get lost! After all filth like you don't belong here so why don't you just drop out and rot away with your own kind!" Cerise spat in Nova's face with the same snarky smirk on her face.

"Why don't you just leave me alone! Are you seriously so miserable with your life that you bully me!" Nova exclaimed angrily before trying to push past Cerise.

However one of her friends shoved Nova right back into the wall; the other girls all approached her with smirks on their faces. "Come-on girls, let's show this filth what we do to her kind," Cerise said before she and her friends all cracked their knuckles.

After several long agonizing minutes which had felt like hours to Nova, the girls finally stopped before leaving. Nova sat there in the same spot for some time with several bruises and cuts all over her body; one of her eyes was even black now. Despite the pain Nova's attention wasn't on that, but instead the anger she felt towards her attackers. All she wanted was to be able to go to school in peace but they just decided to make life harder for her.

As she sat there in a bloody fury her communicator's ringtone echoed in her ears. Nova let out a slight moan of pain before she answered the call. "Hello? What do you want?" Nova asked, annoyed that someone called her after she was beaten up.

"Hello Nova, it's Dr. Raco from the hospital. I hope it's not too much to ask but... we need you to come down to the hospital. It's an urgent emergency you need to hear," Dr. Raco explained in a serious tone.

After hearing this Nova got up and decided to skip school today, rushing to the teleporter. Once inside the teleporter Nova smashed the coordinates to the hospital into the teleporter as quickly as she could. In the blink of an eye Nova arrived at the hospital, rushed into the building.

Now inside the building Nova made her way to Dr. Raco to see what the problem was. She soon reached the area of the hospital that was connected to the ER. However when she entered the hallway, she was horrified to see the place looked like it had been bombed.

"OMG! What the hell happened here?!" Nova asked, concerned for her dad.

"Nova! There you are!" Nova heard Dr. Raco exclaimed. She turned and saw the doc running up to her.

"What the hell happened here?!" Nova asked, worried.

"It was another terrorist attack, your dad was in the explosion!" Dr. Raco blurted out.

When Nova heard about her dad her heart skipped a beat as she feared the worst. Dr. Raco noticed the fear in her eyes and knew instantly that she believed the worst had happened to her dad.

"Dont worry your dad is still alive, but he's in a severe and critical condition. It'll take a lot of treatment to save his life, but it's unfortunately very expensive," Dr. Raco explained.

"What?! H-How much will it even cost!" Nova exclaimed, concerned about the expenses she'll have to pay to save her dads life.

"Well I hate to say this but it'll cost around 40 mill Jolts for the treatment, that combined with the previous treatment which is an extra 20 mill, it'll cost around 60 mill together," Dr. Raco explained.

"WHAT! I can't pay that kind of Jolts! We don't even have that kind of Jolts!" Nova exclaimed horrified by the amount it would cost.

"Sorry kid but I don't know what else to tell you. So I'll just say this, you have till the end of the week to pay it all or else we'll have to leave it in the hands of god," Dr. Raco explained, even though he didn't want to say it he had to.

He was only doing his job and he couldn't pay for the equipment needed to help save Nova's father if he didn't get the Jolts needed. After hearing this Nova slumped down to her knees as she tried to process everything. She had to pay around 60 million Jolts by the end of the week or else she'd lose her dad. Dr. Raco gently patted Nova on the shoulder to comfort her as he knew she was in a serious situation.

After a few minutes Nova got up and left the hospital, deciding to go straight home to lay down. Later Nova was in her house desperately thinking of some way she could make that amount of Jolts in such a short amount of time.

As she sat there thinking Nova received a private call from someone. Without much thinking she answered and as soon as she did she realized who the caller was.

"Hello filth, I heard about your poor filthy father. I'd offer my sympathy but I can't, as unlike you filth we can't suffer as we have the money to pay for the medical fees," Cerise mocked Nova over the call.

"Cerise WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU! Leave me the hell alone! I don't want to deal with you're bull shit right now!" Nova screamed angerly.

"Aww what's the matter, filth? Can't stand to hear the truth? Oh I have an idea why don't you just let the docs pull the plug on your dad and then just jump off a skyscraper. The least amount of your kind in the world then the better the world itself will be!" Cerise mocked with clear enjoyment in her voice.

Nova sneered and hung up and blocked Cerise on her private calls, she wrapped her arms around her legs in frustration. The words Cerise had said to her loped over and over in her head, that alongside the beating she had been given at school.

"Ugh! What the fuck am I going to do! I don't have the Jolts to pay for our medical bills and that little bitch thinks she can shit talk me like that! Agh! FUCK!" Nova screamed as she slammed her fist on the metal floor as hard as she could.

Nova took a moment to calm down even though her blood was boiling and was as hot as lava. As she sat there she then remembered the implants and the suggestion that DK had given her.

"Alright Cerise, you think you're above me because you have money? Well, I guess I'll have to show you that you've messed around with the wrong fucking bitch!" Nova declared as she raced to her room.

She forced the door open with such strength that it seemed to have broken, but she could care less about that. Nova made her way to her bed, lifted up the mattress, and retrieved the implants from the secret compartment she had found when she was younger.

"Alright the next few hours will be agony, but it'll be worth it, to both get the jolts and teach those bitches a lesson!" Nova declared with a furious determination flaring like a fire in her voice.

Later at DK's shop a man in his late forties early fifties was laying down on an automatic recliner with a pair of digitized goggles on his face. DK had a smirk on his face as he was watching one of his favorite adult films with many juicy and spicy themes he enjoyed. Just as the move was about to get into the next spicy but it suddenly stopped much to his disappointment and confusion.

Then a message appeared in the goggles saying, "you have a customer, please show professional behavior."

"Ugh, are you kidding me?" DK groaned as he slid the goggles off his eyes. He sat up and looked to the shop's door asking, "Who the hell is it? We're close today so come back tomorrow!"

However he saw the figure standing in the doorway belonging to that of his teen friend Nova. He saw she was holding the bag of implants she had shown him an image of last night.

"Kid, what the hell are you doing here? You know the shops closed today right?" DK asked more calmly this time after seeing that it was Nova.

"I know! But I want you to put the implants in my body! I'm gonna use them to teach a bitch a lesson and get some jolts to save my dads life!" Nova explained.

DK heard the fury in her voice and had a feeling that some kids at her school had hurt her so that's why she was talking about bitches. That and the desire to save her dad told him that something bad happened to the guy.

"Hmm... alright I'll install the implants, but I'm gonna have to charge ya for," DK was saying till Nova pulled out a bear she had brought with her and tossed it to the man.

"HAhah, you know me so well kid. Alright let's get started!" DK exclaimed as he popped the bear open and drank it up.

"Alright! Just make it quick as I know you don't have the material to put me under," Nova requested.

"I know, and don't worry it'll be over before you know it," DK reassured.

Next thing Nova knew she was laying face down on an operating table biting hard on a metal splint while letting out loud screams and groans of agony. DK cut into her flesh with a scalpel knife and replaced her shoulder blades, arms, and leg with the implants.

After those implants were in, Nova was turned over on her back where DK used some barraquer wires to keep her right eye open for this next operation. Nova braced herself as DK brought the surgical knife to her eye and began to dig it out.

Nova screamed while still biting onto the metal splint as her right eye was removed. For a second she regretted this decision but once she remembered why she was doing this the regret instantly left her. DK then placed the eye implant into Nova's head where it connected to her brain and nervous system allowing her to use and see it.

Nova then finally passed out from the intense amount of pain she was in from all the surgeries the only thing on her mind was both revenge on her bullies and saving her fathers life.
