Second Year,
Screaming in the Night

The New Year, just an hour away, for the first time ever, her mother and father had organised a new years eve party. Inviting all their friends, they wished that Ethan and Laura could be with them, however in their letters, they stated that were having too much fun at Hogwarts.

Aimee and Sirius knew one day they would grow up and they'd have to take a step back. Let their not-so-little ones make their own choices and decisions, which included the time they spent with the family. Phoebe hooked Moon's leash as she walk downstairs.

"Mum, I'm just going to take Moon for a walk,"

"Okay, sweetheart, remember his recall isn't too good, I wouldn't let him off,"

"I won't," she smiled at her mother

As she stepped outside she shivered, the winter air was the coldest it had been all December. Ice covered the pavement, she cringed at the unfamiliar feeling under her feet she took a deep breath stepping down the step careful not to slip on the ice.

"Don't pull me, okay," she said, looking down at Moon.

He was still a puppy, she understood he'd be excited to be outside. She just prayed he could behave until they reached the grass where the thicker snow was easier to walk on than the ice. Being a husky, Moon loved the snow, when she saw that there wasn't anyone around, she braved letting him loose.

"What's the matter?" she asked, as he didn't move far from her she balled up a snowball, throwing it for him. The dog only looked in the direction of the snowball, still not attempting to run after it, "are you feeling well?"

She crouched down, examining the dog, taking his gums and eyes, for any sign of infection or illness. When he appeared fine, she figured he must just be having a good day, they continued their walk, Moon walked right by her side, only straying away to relieve himself.

She reached the street again, as was about to hook him on his leash, she pondered for a minute, he had barely moved from her side. She made him sit at the road, waiting until it was safe to cross, she walked across the road to her home, Moon still close beside her.

"Mum, you'll never believe it, Moon's walked beside me the entire time off the leash,"

"I thought I told you not to let him off,"

"I know but there wasn't anyone around," her mother sighed, smiling down at the puppy, she lightly scratched behind his ear, as she continued with preparing the snacks for later that night.

With only minutes left until the new year, her mother had gathered everyone in the main room to watch the countdown on the tv. Phoebe had only grown more concerned for Moon, even with all the new people around he still remained by her side not straying far from her.

"3...2...1 Happy New Year," everyone cheered, her father, James and Dorcas, shared a news year's kiss with their wives. While her Grammy, Remus and Regulus, shared a bottle of wine toasting the new year.

The kids danced around as music played, she smiled as her two brothers along with Harry seemed to be whispering and no doubt plotting. Max enjoyed the company of her younger sisters and Harry's sister Mia. Her attention was pulled away when Moon pawed at her leg, whining loudly and eventually barking at her, Aimee glanced her way.

"Phoebe?" she questioned, hurrying to her side

A man stood before a young boy, as though he had waited for him, knowing somehow he would be coming. While only two stood, a third voice could be heard, the man unsure of the third voice request.

"Master you are not strong enough," he said to himself,

He nodded removing his turban, revealing a face on the back of his head, speaking seemed difficult like he was barely alive just holding on to life through the man. The man lunged forward towards her.

"Phoebe!" her mother cried unable to calm her down as her fearful screams filled the room, "Grammy" her mother pleaded, Amelia hurried to her, while Sirius hurried the other children out of the room.

"Phoebe," she cupped her cheek, examining her eyes, "she's lost in a vision, get sleeping draft right now," Aimee listened, as she turned to retrieve it Kreacher had already apparated it to her. Amelia poured the potion down her throat, Phoebe's body fell limp, Aimee held her close to her, stroking the hair away from her face.

Sirius came back, carrying Phoebe in his arms up to her bedroom, he laid her in bed as he closed her door, Moon slipped through jumping on her bed to lay with her. His eyes turned to his wife, her lips trembling as tears streamed down her face.

"Hey, she'll be alright, Amelia knows what she's doing-

"She was so scared," Aimee cried, he held her close to him, attempting to calm her the best he could. "She's never had one that bad,"

"Yes, she has, remember how frightened was of Peter,"

"She was just a toddler, Sirius, she's older now, she's seen so many things, whatever she saw it petrified her-

"Mum," Hope creaked open the door, with tears down her own face, "is Phoebe going to be okay?"

"Yes, Sweat Pea," she said, wiping her own tears away

"Don't lie," Carden said, pushing the door open, all the kids stood there each of them with tears streaming down their faces.

"Come on, what's all the tears for?" Sirius said, smiling at them, "Phoebe's sound asleep now, as you should be," he cast a charm on their bed, making it big enough to fit them all in.

Immediately the children climbed into bed with their parents, Hadrian snuggled his mother, while Larissa snuggled into her father, Hope, Max and Rhea laid in the middle. While the children fell asleep quickly, Aimee and Sirius, couldn't sleep, lying awake, they turned to face each other.

"What are we going to do?" Aimee whispered not to disturb the children.

"I don't know Aims, you're right she was scared Lily was crying when they left,"

"She can't go back to Hogwarts," Aimee paused when Hadrian stirred in his sleep, "not while she's like this," she whispered

"If she wants to go we can't stop her, but maybe we could talk to Dumbledore-

"You know how I feel about him-

"I know, but he's still the headmaster," she sighed knowing he was right.

"Fine, we'll talk to Dumbledore, just know I'm not thrilled about it,"
