*CHAPTER THREE*

His eyes opened a little bit, sand and ash flinging off of his eyelashes as he did. Nico's whole body was numb, and he coughed up rubble, his lungs filled with dust. His eyes went down to his hand which had a huge bruise all around it, and when he tried moving his hands pain shot up his fingers but that didn't stop him.
Nico started to sit up, every part of him sore and he struggled to turn to his side. Right beside him he saw a body of a young boy with hair that was now spread out all across their face, a large, bleeding cut down their left cheek. And they didn't seem to be breathing.
"Ty?" Nico said hopefully. He shook Ty's body, trying to wake them up. He pressed his head to his heart, relieved to hear it beating. But they still wouldn't wake up.
Nico grabbed Ty, lifting them up into their arms. They were remarkably light compared to Nico, most likely because of the height difference, so he didn't really struggle. He walked over the rubble, scared to look under the parts of the airplane for fear of finding a body, and got out of the rubble completely. He set Ty down on the sand, resting them comfortably for when they wake up.
He looked around. He didn't exactly know where they were, except for that it looked like a beach, maybe an island. There was a forest in the distance, and the sky was completely black, so he couldn't really see anything. He heard a gasp, and looked down, seeing Ty breathing more normally now.
Then it hit him.
He didn't know where his sister was.
Nico ran from where he was into the rubble, screaming her name. "Sparna!" It was a mix of a cry and a yell, filled with fear and panic. Wherever he looked, he just couldn't find her. "Sparna!"
His hands started to shake with the thought of what might have happened to Sparna, and that Ty might pass and he would be the only survivor of the crash only to die himself, but then he heard it.
A cough.
Nico didn't hesitate. He ran over to the sound, screaming the name over and over again. He passed aisle by aisle, skipping over a girl with brown hair, her heart paralysed, until he found the source. When he found it, he was both relieved and disappointed. There was Karimah Leya, trying to stand up, coughing up blood. Nico offered her support and she took it, coughing even more. He looked around her aisle. There was Talon, barely breathing right next to her, but she was the only other person.
"Are you alright?" He asked. She continued coughing a little, and he took off his jacket, letting her cough into it. She took it gladly, almost choking on her own blood. Nico was terrified, and finally, she stopped coughing. Then, she got a clear view of him.
"Nico?" She asked, her voice hoarse. He nodded.
"Where's Sparna?" She looked just as confused as he was, and he started to get anxious. "Where is she?"
Karimah Leya hesitated, started to get upset. "I don't know, Nico," She said truthfully. Nico was close to tears. Without thinking, he started to sprint again. He ran past her and everybody else, trying to find some sign of his sister. He continued calling her name, hoping for some sort of reply, but didn't find one. At first.
"Nico?"
It was a small cry, but he recognized the voice immediately. He ignored the fact that he was tired of running and rushed to find his sister. And when he did find the brown-haired girl, he started to cry happy tears.
Sparna turned around, and Nico saw how she had a huge pink eye but that didn't ruin her beauty at that moment. She gasped, running toward him. She wrapped her arms around him, and they both started crying.
"Nico, I was so worried about you!" Sparna choked, brushing his messy hair back. She let her tears fall onto his head, and he did the same.
"Me too, Sparna," He whispered. Sparna started coughing on her own tears, making her eye swell even more. She squeezed even harder.
"I promise, nothing bad will ever happen to you. I'll be there for you." She let go, wiping a few tears from his face as she squatted a little further down.
"Karimah Leya's okay," He said. "And Talon. They're both alive."
She smiled even more. "Good." She stood up, and they started walking toward the plane rubble, ready to help everybody get to their feet.

Jayed opened his eyes, feeling somebody shake him. It hurt to open them, invisible pressure trying to keep them closed, but he fought it. Because he was looking at his best friend.
Quinn smiled as Jayed awoke, glad that he was alright. "Wow," Jayed said quietly. He didn't want to be mean, but Quinn looked bad. Real bad. There was a large wound on his forehead, blood dripping out of it. He wasn't sure what caused it, but it might have been the result of broken glass cutting his skin. "What happened?"
"The plane crashed," Quinn said. "Ten people died, not including teachers and fight attendants."
Jayed frowned. His eyes moved behind Quinn, and saw a girl with long brown hair carrying Kenzie across the rubble, and he could tell that she had died. He looked a little further but didn't see neither Lanier NightWill nor Hedi.
"Your forehead," He said, voice hoarse. Then Quinn frowned.
"I know, it's bad. But all of the first aid supplies got destroyed when the plane crashed."
Jayed started to sit up and noticed how difficult it was. Quinn helped him, and once he was up, Jayed looked around for his backpack. Disappointed, he couldn't find it. "We'll figure something out," He said. Quinn offered him his hand, and Jayed took it, starting to stand up.
His legs ached. As he walked, he noticed how much pain it caused, and Quinn suggested that he broke his leg, and Jayed, sadly, believed him. He even heard a crack in them at one point, so Quinn supported him on the side.
As they walked down the burned plane, they noticed all of the reunions taking place. On one side, he saw two girls hugging each other, one of them licking her finger and cleaning the other one's bleeding wounds. A while down, he also saw a tall brown-haired boy and a ginger boy hugging, the ginger moving his hands in a way that didn't interest Jayed but seemed to really interested the tall boy. The boys laughed a few times, but also cried a little as well. They continued their conversation as Jayed looked away and back forward.
"We should be helping," Jayed said.
"Where do you think we're going?" Quinn asked. Jayed understood, letting Quinn guide him where they needed to go. Jayed didn't want to look at the poor people that didn't survive the crash, but he knew he needed to contribute, especially to the people that really needed it.
Jayed and Quinn stepped out of the area where the plane crashed and ended up on sand. Jayed looked around. It wasn't anything special, it was just supposed to resemble a hospital room at the time, or a place to bury some of the deceased. Jayed let go of Quinn and stumbled across the sand, looking at who was lying down.
To his left, a girl with auburn hair and a boy-who he thought was named William-were digging up a hole, a girl next to them. Jayed couldn't help but presume she was one of the passing, and they were burying her. He looked away in horror.
On the side of everything was a girl with long white hair. She didn't seem to want to talk to anybody, instead trying to block out everything and hide her sadness. She wasn't very injured besides a few cuts down her arm. When she made eye contact with him, he awkwardly looked away.
Then, there was a boy on the sand that he recognized as Dylan Hubbard, someone he barely knew but have heard of. He sat up, a scowl across his face. He heard his constantly curse, so he avoided him.
It took him a while to find what he was looking for, or really, who. But when he did, he was speechless. Jayed stepped over to Hedi, not noticing Quinn behind him. He couldn't tell if he was even breathing, but if he was, then it was very slight. His lip was bashed up, ash covering his entire face. And his right hand, which was placed on his chest, was missing two of it's fingers.
Jayed didn't know how to react, so he just held back his feelings by looking back at Quinn. Tears fell down his face and down his cheek. He was in plain shock, not knowing what was coming next.
"What's happening, Quinn?" He whispered, voice shaky. His face went pink, his eyes starting to get redder as more tears fell. Quinn grabbed him from the side and hugged him.
"It's gonna be okay," He said. And it made Jayed feel a little better, even if he knew it wasn't true.

A/N
Just so you know, all twenty of the main characters are still alive. I just couldn't mention each one.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Because I cried about six times writing it...
Also, I am trying to get a bunch of chapters out since I might not be active a lot this weekend. I will still write, but just not post or comment and stuff like that. So yeah, double update today :)
