Chapter 3 - /What happened?/

Kidou's POV

I sat beside Sakuma inside our bus.
We forfeited the game, we just wanted to bring out Gouenji Shuuya but I didn't expect to see her.

Supana Sofia.

I didn't get a heads up that she was playing soccer in Occult last year. Maybe the commentator said, 'She once play at Preliminaries' but that's impossible, we didnt know her. Heck, I didn't even know she was playing with Raimon.

Something's wrong.

"Earth to Kidou! You're spacing out again!" I snapped out on my thoughts as Sakuma waved his hand infront of me.

I looked at Sakuma and Genda. Genda is sitting on the other side of the bus.

"Are you alright? Did something wrong happen to our plan?" Genda asked but I just shrugged.

Commander entered the bus with a familiar girl. She had long black hair, and red sharp orbs for eyes. She's also really pale and not wearing our uniform, she's wearing the Occult one.

Why is Sofia on the bus going to our school?

"Who's that girl?" Genda whispered and Sakuma looked at me.

"She's Supana Sofia, niece of the commander." I answered.

"Wait, what? Really?" Sakuma asked, suprised upon hearing that. I nodded.

"You sure? She's far from what you talked about before when we're grade schoolers"

Yeah, what happened to her? She looks so different especially her eyes. Her eyes are filled with despair. Did she dye her hair black or for some reason her eyes became red pupils? Well, maybe it's because she didn't visit me like what she promise? I'm not mad that she didn't visit me when we were young because of some reason, I'm just disappointed because she knows that I'm here and she hasn't given me a glimpse or smile on me.

Maybe she has her reasons.

Where's the Sofia I used to know when we were young?

She changed a lot.

And just now, she's sitting with Commander. They having small talks but in a different language, Spanish. Some of their conversation I can understand, thanks to the extra language subjects I guess. I know eavesdropping is not appropriate but I can hear it.

Her voice, there's no emotion in it. Empty. Just a plain monotone girl voice. God, what happened to her? Where's the happy cheerful high pitch voice?

As the bus stopped at the entrance of our school, I went to our club room immediately. I took a shower and change my clothes to my extra uniform. Maybe I'll skip some classes and have a nap at the couch in our club room. I'm excused if they ask why I'm absent to my classes.

Sofia's probably with the commander in his office. Discussing things that I have no clue about. I want to ask the commander what we should do but I don't want to disturb them. Maybe, later if I'm not that lazy.

Sakuma and Genda asked me, well more like dragged me to go to the cafeteria to buy some food. I brought a bento and a cola while the two of them were still deciding what they should buy. The taste is great but it's expensive, what did I expect from a private privileged school in our distinct.

After 15 minutes, they finally decided what food they wanted. I didn't wait for them and ate my food because it was getting cold.

While eating, for some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about what reasons I expect to hear from Sofia's apology or if we're even  gonna talk.

Our table is filled with silence but Sakuma started the conversation.

"Yo, You look stressed out while eating. Care to tell us?" Sakuma said as he ate a spoonful of lasagna. Genda nodded.

"Oh, this is nothing. Something dumb went to mind." I lied as the two smirked.

"Kidou, nice try but you can't lie to us."

"You're unpredictable but as your best friend, we can read your body language."

I sighed as I rolled my eyes behind my goggles.

"Fine, I'll tell you later. Let me finish my food" I said as I ate some rice from my bento. I just make an excuse, later they'll forget it.

I hope so.

"Tsk, let me guess. It's her right?" Genda asked as we looked to Sofia buying Honey Butter chips and a chocolate drink from the counter. Both sweet but a weird combination of food.

"Just talk to her." Sakuma said.

"It's not that easy and it's not the right time." I looked at Sakuma and he rolled his eyes. Genda laughed.

"If you say so, Kidou."

God, this is frustrating. I finished my bento and placed it on the counter where dirty plates and utensils are.

I didn't attend my class and Sakuma and Genda went to their classes. I stayed in the club room alone because my thoughts were just floating around.

Either I can't concentrate nor easily get distracted. I rest my head on the couch and closed my eyes. Maybe, I need to rest.

'I will visit you! I promise!'

. . .

'I will wait for you at Teikoku.'

. . .

'See you soon Kidou - kun! Don't forget me!'

"God, I should stop this." I whispered. I removed my goggles to feel more comfortable. The team is on their own classes and I'm the only one in this room, it should be fine.

I woke up laying down at the sofa, maybe Sakuma or Genda put me in this position. I looked at my phone, it's already 3:05 at the afternoon. I should probably buy some snacks cause my stomach's grumbling a bit.

Last subject before club time. I should also ask Sakuma and Genda for the activities and homeworks I should do at home. I went to the comfort room to wash my face and wear my goggles.

It's computer time on the schedule for today. We're heading to the Computer Laboratory, we're going to do some Robotics and Programming. We couldn't use the computers cause our Computer Teacher forgot the security password of the main computer and it's connected to the student's computer. He always changes the passcode monthly.

This teacher is kinda stupid.

Unexpectedly, He called Sofia to fix this.

Goddamnit, I thought she's already left. Sofia did something to the main computer and it's fixed. She also discussed how to build a robot and how to program it. She even build her own robot that she controlled by her phone. That's impressive.

We started with the activity, building our robots. She helped our teacher guide my other classmates who got confused. I didn't get a chance to talk to her because she got assigned to the other row of my classmates.

And I'm still not ready to confront her.

Goddamnit.
