Chapter 6 - Dark, Darker, Yet Monster

I T ' S   N O T   A   G A M E !

Also, scary wall of text at the end about the Tokyovania & Ink Sans situation. I feel like I should say some thing about it. *Sigh* -_-'

~~~~~Zephyr's P.O.V.~~~~~
"Where is Xephyr?"
Shara stared at me. "He got out- EVERYONE LOCK THE DOORS!" She snapped. "Use as little energy as you can!" I stared at her.
"What's going on?!" Cider demanded.
"It went wrong, he got out- Xephyr's in the ship's system--" As soon as the words left Shara's mouth, the lights went out.
"Well how do we find him?!" Cider growled. Shara held out the small hard drive that was near impossible to see in the dim room.
"Trap him in a computer or single system, then we can get him in this," Shara yelped as the lights turned back on.
Everyone immediately bolted in different directions. I jumped up, my head pounding, and ran to the cockpit. Lord knows what would happen if Xeph got control of the ship's direction. Or if he had control of the ship itself. I ran in to see that Chronos had the same thought. He was typing and examining the code, looking for traces of Xephyr. I looked around, expecting something to happen.
"It's not a game," I heard Xephyr's voice ring through the room. Chronos hissed in pain, the main computer shocking him. He glanced at me.
"Make sure he doesn't leave. I'll get Shar," He bolted out.
"Go away," Xephyr growled at me. I stepped forward, uncertain. I heard him growl at me as I started opening up the coding on the computer. Surprisingly, he didn't shock me. "GET OUT!" He screeched. I heard the computer start to buzz with electricity as the computer screen went black. I didn't have time to react, and I felt a bolt of energy shoot through me. I hissed in pain and backed away, not going to let Xeph shock me again. "Sorry..." He muttered. I've never heard him say something truly sincere before...
I jumped as I heard Shara run towards the room, Chronos right behind her. I heard Xephyr growl and the door slammed shut, leaving me alone with Xephyr. Shara hit the door, and hit the floor a second later. I glanced around, looking for any threats. I heard Chronos ram into the door, trying to open it in any way.
"Let's fix that..." Xephyr muttered, and a second later Chronos shrieked in pain. "...with a controlled shock..." He burst out in laughter. I backed away, careful not to touch any electrical equipment. "Eh? I'm not going to hurt you," Xephyr told me, and for a second, I believed it.
"You just shocked my, no- our brother. Don't you feel bad?" I asked, and didn't get an answer. "Xephyr....?"
"Leave me alone..." He growled, his voice showing resentment to what was next. "Just let me kill you..." My eyes widened. "...so I can be with my family..." I heard electricity crackle in the air, and a white hot pain soon after. I screamed in pain, doubling over. Electricity filled the room. I collapsed, the pain too much to bare. I shut my eyes, almost accepting my death, until it stopped with no warning. I slowly looked up, gasping for air. The room was dead silent.
I broke out in a coughing fit, clutching my chest. The room cooled down as I carefully stood up, gripping the wall for balance. "...I-I'm...I'm sorry...." I heard Xephyr say, guiltly. The door opened. "Just erase me, get it over with."
I watched as Shara entered and looked at me in concern. I felt my chest tighten, and I collapsed again. Chronos lifted me up as my eyes shut. "Zeph?" He asked as my breathing hitched. "What happened?! ZEPH?!"
"...I'm sor-" Xephyr's vocals got cut off.
~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~

I woke up, my chest sore. Shara was beside me, and she smiled brightly as soon as she saw I was awake. "You're awake!" She hugged me. I groaned in slight pain.

"How long was I out...?" I asked.

"About a week...Xephyr did a number on you," Shara sighed. "Speaking of him...you have a visitor..." She got up and scurried out of the room. Soon after, someone walked in.

He looked exactly like me, except he wore a darker shade of green and no scarf. He glanced around nervously before walking to where I was. "Are you okay...?" He asked. I recognized his voice instantly: Xephyr. I froze up and Xephyr sighed. "I'm sorry..."

"What...? How did...?" I gaped at him.

"Shara," I answered simply. "Cider and Chronos don't know yet. She said that it would be easier if you helped telling everyone."

I nodded. "Cider's going to kill you."

"Yep. That's why Shar dragged you into this," He sighed. "How do you feel? Sorry about that... Sorry about...everything..."

"Fine," I shrugged. "Chest is still sore, though. You're forgiven," I smiled weakly.

"Sorry...again..." Xephyr help me stand, letting me lean on him.

"I-It's okay, I understand why you did it," I reassured him. Xephyr and I made our way to the main room, where Cider and Chronos were. Both looked stressed. As soon as we walked in, their heads shot up and they stared at us. They looked flat out confused and happy.

"ZEPH?! And...another Zephyr?" Cider asked, confused. Shara walked in, saw the four of us, and backed out.

"CIDER DON'T KILL ME-" She called, running off. Xephyr glanced at me. She left us to deal with this...oh boy. Cider stared at us.

"What?"

"Welcome back, Xeph," I smiled weakly due to my lack of energy. The shock had drained me of any and all energy. Xeph backed behind me, glancing around for an escape route. Cider stared at him and stood up, his gaze going from disciplined to feral.

"Zeph, get away from him," He growled. Chronos stood up and grabbed his arm. "He's not the same. How can you even stand next to him after what he's done? All he's even done is hurt you."

Chronos tightened his grip. "Cider, don't-" He got cut off.

"Chronos, shut it," He shoved our brother away. Cider's gaze reddened, as if he was about to go full-blown bloodthirsty. I shoved Xephyr behind me and spread my arms out, blocking him.

"Cider, don't do this," I insisted. "He's-" I shouted in pain as I was flung to the side. Cider had used his magic, and he had gone fully bloodthirsty now. He was mad at Xephyr for lots of things. Very mad. Chronos looked at me.

"Zeph, grab Xephyr and run," He stood straight and summoned a bone. I did as I was told and grabbed Xeph by the arm. He grabbed me, more like picked me up, and bolted.

Shara darted past us, holding what looked like a tranquilizer gun. Soon after, we heard the sound of Cider's body hitting the floor. Xeph set me down and we ran back. I clung to him, nearly falling over due to my chest. Cider was knocked out. Shara threw the gun across the room, angry with herself for not stopping the situation. Chronos collapsed, a bone had shot through his chest. Xephyr stared at the scene in shock. "What is happening to us...?" Xeph muttered to himself, fear showing in his eyes. I let out a small whimper in response.

This family was getting torn apart, and it was all my fault.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey, just before this chapter ends, I wanted to say something. I've noticed on SharaX's tumblr that she made an announcement that people are still hating on her about the "TOKYOVANIA IN INK SANS' THEME YOU STUPID COPYCAT!!1!" situation.
I just wonder why those people don't just look at the dates the songs, and they can see that Shara uploaded it first. It's such a simple solution that it's stupid. Actually, I never associated Ink to Tokyovania or Tokyovania Control, and I still don't think that the two go together. So once I found some of that, I noticed that (almost) nobody was giving Shara credit. It made me feel incredibly bad that I couldn't do anything about it to help her. SharaX is a wonderful person who creates wonderful music and I hate the fact that people are hating on her.
I have no clue on how to record (because I'm a noob, it's probably quite simple), and once I figure it out, I will do something about it (motivational vids). I love the fact that her music has hidden meanings (like how Graveyard Kitten is about the sudden death of someone, or at least, that's how I see it) and I can understand how people conect it to sometihng else. Shara once said in a comment that she doesn't like it when people force a meaning on one of her songs.
The thing is, it is true that words and comments don't do ANYTHING anymore. People are so darn blind and stubborn it actually hurts. If only they would look at the dates the vids/tributes/etc. were made, and they would see that SHARAX MADE TOYKOVANIA! I think that they don't even know who the original creator of it is, and I'm sorry if you fell into it. I don't mean to be rude, I'm just trying to prove a point that needs to be proved.
That is all I have to say, I hope you can spread the word. :)
