*(Y/N) POV*

Some time has passed since we put Torchwick to jail. Things after that went quiet, kinda too quiet if you want my opinion, but it also means less work for us. Things were going smoothly. Ruby and I got on some more dates, we got kinda closer. Whenever she had an occasion, she came to my room to sleep with me or just spend some time together as a couple. Ryze's relationship with Yang also got on the next level, especially when he went missing after one of their dates... I don't even want to know. Tournament is starting today as me and Ruby went to visit Patch like she wanted. We're currently on a hill, where a single tombstone can be found, as it reads 'Summer Rose ~ Thus Kindly I Scatter'

Ruby: "Hey Mom. Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been...well things have been pretty busy. Oh, Dad's here too! He's, uh you know, Dad. He's still teaching at Signal, but he told me he's going to be going out on some missions soon. I think he misses adventuring with you... I miss you too..." I put a hand on her shoulder, giving her a smile "Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet, so that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. I keep her in line...That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter, you can tell she's learned a lot from Dad. Well, so are Weiss and Blake. Oh, they're my teammates. Together, we form Team RWBY. And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. Anyway, uh, I made a lot of new friends, Like (Y/N) here and his team" I waved to say 'hello' "And he's actually my... boyfriend. He's amazing! He taught me how to be a leader, how to be a better Huntress and he took good care of me, and I love him very much. I know you would've loved him too"

(Y/N): "Ruby, if I could?" she smiled and nodded "Hey, Mrs. Rose. As Ruby said, we're a couple. She is an amazing woman and she helped me numerous times too. I love her just as much as she loves me. I already promised to Yang that I will take good care of her, and I promise this to you too. This planet will stop before I let anyone hurt her" Ruby squeezed my hand and looked down

Ruby: "I've also met some...let's just say odd teachers. Oh, we've also stopped some bag guys too! I guess it's like they say, like mother, like daughter. I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early, but uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he starts sounding like Uncle Qro..." We heard a bark and looked around to see Zwei and Ruby's dad "Oh, looks like Dad's back. We got to go! He's dropping us off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission. Wish me luck!"

We started walking back but I could feel the air started to smell like... roses. I instantly stop, getting Ruby's attention

Ruby: "Cookie, what's wrong?"

(Y/N): "Nothing Petals. I think I will stay for awhile and talk with your mom a little more"

Ruby: "Okay. Don't take too long. Love you!"

(Y/N): "Hehe, Love you too!" I turned back to the tombstone "Mrs. Rose. If you can hear me, can you send my dad a message? I wanted him to know that I'm alright, same as my mom. She misses him everyday and so am I. I hope he is there with you. Goodbye, Mrs. Rose" I started walking back, but then the air started to smell like roses again, and some white rose petals showed off. I turned around and I saw a semi transparent women, looking like Ruby, but older and in white hood

???: "(Y/N)..." she spoke to me

(Y/N): "Mrs. Rose... are you... a ghost?" she looked at me and smiled

Mrs.Rose: "You look just like Albert. Don't worry, I will tell him everything. He's so proud of you... Thank you so much for taking care of Ruby, you two are like your parents back in Beacon"

(Y/N): "Thanks, Mrs. Rose. Oh, mom told me to say hello from her too" Mrs. Rose giggled

Mrs. Rose: "Oh, Elly and her childish behavior. She hasn't changed at all" Her body started to vanish "I have to go back to the afterlife (Y/N). You have my blessing. Goodbye" and her body scattered into white rose petals

(Y/N): "Goodbye... Summer" I walked back to Ruby and her dad.

'Well, here it goes...'

(Y/N): "It's nice to meet you Mr. Xiao Long" I offered him a handshake and he just looked at me. I started sweating bullets before... he smiled at me

Ruby's Dad: "Wow. I never would've thought that Albert's and Elly's son would be dating my daughter"

(Y/N): "Phew... I knew it could go well. Thank Oum mom told me about you, sir"

Ruby's Dad: "Drop all the sir and misters. Call me Tai. Ruby told me she already met your mom, so it's only fair you would meet me"

(Y/N): "Oh, right. She called during one of our dates..."

Tai: "She had a talent to ruin moments, don't she?" We laughed "(Y/N), can I ask you something?"

(Y/N): "Go ahead"

Tai: "Do you love my daughter?" I got a serious look on my face

(Y/N): "From the bottom of my heart"

Tai: "What would you do to protect her?"

(Y/N): "I would give my life in order to keep her safe" Tai smiled

Tai: "You really get this from your father, (Y/N). You would make a great son-in-law" Me and Ruby blushed

Ruby: "DAD!"

(Y/N): "Isn't it still too early?!"

Tai: "For how long are you two dating?" we think for a while

Ruby: "It would be half a year now? Cookie?"

(Y/N): "Something like this. We got together at the end of the first semester"

Tai: "Yup, too early. But if anything, you have my blessing" we blushed again

Ruby: "DAAD!!!"

(Y/N): "Okay, we need to go. If I remember correctly Team CRMS will take on some team from Vacuo first"

Ruby: "Oh right!" we get into the car and drove off

Tai: "So, (Y/N), I heard Yang also got a boyfriend"

'Well, you're dead Matoi...'

(Y/N): "Yes, he's my teammate"

Tai: "What's he like? Yang never told me anything about him"

(Y/N): "Well, he's a hothead, but if something went to hurt Yang, he would chop it to pieces"

Ruby: "He got these awesome swords and his semblance allows him to fly!"

Tai: "Really?" he chuckled "I hope to meet him soon too"

(Y/N): "I will tell him that..."

'He is so fucking dead...'

*Timeskip*

Port: "And that's the match! Team CRMS wins!"

Well, after my return I got back to my team. We got ready to fight team SLRV from Shade. And let me tell you, they couldn't get a worse match. There was a guy in their team, Rave, whose body can turn into metal and Mako just tied him into a pretzel. Thankfully he didn't break his bones. After that Ryze just picked him up and threw him out of the arena. Second thing that could've made our victory clear is that we got a forest and a desert as our surroundings. Knowing what to do, Sam instantly ran to the forest and set up numerous traps. It worked and thanks to that we got rid of their leader, Sean. He just flew out of the area thanks to one trap. That left us four on two girls from their team. One was Laura, a girl with green hair and blue eyes, her semblance allowed her to change a gravity force in one place. Second was Violet, she had a charm semblance, something like mermaid singing. Thanks to that she made Mako go out of bonds. Well, after it got to 3 vs 2 things were not looking so bright now. Ryze couldn't even get near Laura, but thanks to Sam's vines we tied her up and I used my scythe as a golf putt to throw her out. Now, it was only the mermaid. She tried her best to charm me or Ryze, but it didn't work. To this moment I wonder why. Me and Ryze just attacked her alternately until her Aura dropped to red. And that's where we are now. I could hear girls shouting from the stands

Ruby: "YOU SHOWED THEM COOKIE!"

YANG: "YOU KICKED THEIR ASS BABE! WOOHOO!" I looked there to see girls chanting and holding a 'CRMS' banner. Behind them was Jaune and Ren, Jaune had a small 'CRMS' flag and a cap while Ren stood up and clapped

(Y/N): "Thank you, thank you" I bowed

Ryze: "Show off. Let's meet with the rest"

(Y/N): "Let's get Mako first"

After picking up Mako we went to the stands. We sat down next to girls

Ruby: "It was awesome! She was like 'Gravity here is ten times much stronger' and Sam was like 'Maybe we can't get near you, but my vines could' and later you just threw her out like in golf!" she said super fast

(Y/N): "Petals, calm down"

Ruby: "I'm so proud of you!"

(Y/N): "Thanks. So, who is next?"

Weiss: "I think our team"

Yang: "I hope you will stay and cheer"

Ryze: "And miss you four kicking ass? No way"

Blake: "Who will you send to the doubles round?"

Sam: "We don't know yet, but most probably (Y/N) and me"

(Y/N): "We will see" then Oobleck interrupted us

Oobleck: "Can Team RWBY get to the arena?"

Ruby: "Oh! It's our time! Wish us luck!"

(Y/N): "Ruby, you don't need luck when you have skill" she smiled and kissed my cheek. Ryze and Yang shared a quick kiss for 'good luck' and after that girls went on their way

*timeskip*

We're watching girls fighting team ABRN from Haven. Me and Ryze setup 'RWBY' banner like girls did for us, while Mako was waving a massive 'RWBY' flag in the background. All while Port and Oobleck are commenting the match

Port: "Hello! It seems like we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, Professor?"

Oobleck: "Doctor... And yes Peter, I think it's safe to say this match may be the closest we've seen of the four on four round of the tournament!"

Port: "For those of you just now joining us, welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament, broadcast live from Amity Colosseum! If this is your first time watching, allow us to break down the rules"

Oobleck: "The tournament is divided into three distinctive rounds. Teams, doubles and singles. Age and school year are irrelevant! In this tournament, your only attribute being tested... is skill"

Port: "Correct! The winners of this battle will elect two of their members to represent them in the doubles round, followed by the winners of that round choosing one member to advance once again. The remaining combatants will then fight their way through the final bracket in the hope of achieving victory for their kingdom!"

Oobleck: "And yes, Peter, these are some spectacular spectacles on which to spectate on! I don't think anyone turning in around the world is going to disagree with me on that!"

Port: "Ahh, and why would they? To those who just joined us now, we already had our first match! Team CRMS of Beacon defeated Team SLVR of Shade in a great show of skill!"

Oobleck: "Those four students already show what they can do during combat class! Mr. (L/N) showed a great skill in combat and leadership, making his team victorious!"

Port: "Now, let's get back to the match between Team RWBY of Beacon and Team ABRN, of Haven"

Ryze: "I can't say I don't like being praised"

Mako: "Yeah, it's nice. Do you think we have fans?"

(Y/N): "Maybe..." we get back to the fight just in time to see this green haired girl shooting at Blake in the air. Unfortunately she lands painfully on her ass as Blake wince in sympathy

Mako: "Ouch, that's gotta hurt"

Sam: "Ass first to the ice. It's always painful"

(Y/N): "How do you...?"

Sam: "One time I went ice skating and I landed on my ass pretty hard" Us three winced "Yeah"

We looked at that volcano area to see Yang fighting a girl with blonde hair. They exchange punches and kicks before connecting fists, creating a shockwave, knocking them both back

Ryze: "GO GOLDILOCKS!"

Just after he shouted that, the blond girl tied Yang and knocked her to the ice area, right beneath a guy with pink hair. He aims his gun at Yang, but before he could fire, a shot of ice round freezes his legs, knocking his weapons out of his hands. I turn to the source to see Ruby lying down with Crescent Rose in sniper form

Ruby: "Got your back!" then a black haired guys shows up behind her

Black haired guy: "But who's got yours?" Before he could do anything, Weiss's glyphs appeared behind him, as she kicked him through it, knocking him across the arena.

Ruby: "My BFF!"

Weiss: "No" Ruby pumped her fist, whispering only what I can assume was 'yes'

(Y/N): "GOOD JOB PETALS! WEISS CREAM! GO FINISH HIM OFF!" I chanted

Both girls rushed that black haired guy using Weiss's glyphs to attack. As the three standoff for a few seconds, that guy runs past Weiss, and dodges Ruby's swing

Ruby: "Whaaat?"

That guy cut's one of the orange crystals and passes it to the green haired girl. She puts it into her board as it changes color from green to orange. Using her new board she unfreezes pink haired guy's legs, setting him free. She later goes to knock Blake with her board, sending her through some icebergs. Blake uses her semblance to set a clone as bait, and hides behind one ice crystal. The green girl took it, and just before she attacked, the clone faces as Blake uses the rope part of her pistols to clothesline the girl and kick her out of the bonds

Port: "Ooh, a double whammy! Reese Chloris is eliminated by ring out and Aura level!"

Oobleck: "Oh, she really should've worn a helmet!"

Mako: "GOOD JOB BLAKE!"

Sam: "IT'S NOW THREE VERSUS FOUR! YOU GOT IT GIRLS!"

(Y/N) and Ryze: "GO TEAM RWBY!" Blake looked at us, seeing me and Ryze holding the banner while Mako was still waving the flag. She smiled and shook her head. We later turn our attention back to the rest of Team RWBY fighting their opponents. Weiss knocks that black haired dude into the pink one. Later she created an ice storm on top of them and trapped them inside of an ice fist, which turned into an ice ball. The blonde girls stand in the way of it as she punches it, freeing her teammates. Weiss calls out to Yang before creating a giant ice rink.

Weiss: "Yang! Now!"

Blake gets to them, and with the help of her weapon's rope to gain speed she rides the rink. Upon coming to its end, Blake jumps on Crescent Rose, as Ruby launches her into the remainder of team ABRN, dragging Yang behind her. Blake swings Yang in front of her and she punches her way through the rest of their opponents, knocking them out of the bonds

Yang: "Yes!"

Port: "And that's the match! Team RWBY is victorious!"

Weiss: "We did it?"

(Y/N): "WAY TO GO GIRLS! GOOD JOB PETALS!"

Ryze: "YOU PUNCHED THEM BACK TO THE HAVEN BABE!"

Girls looked to us, as we chant and clap at their victory

Ruby: "WE DID IIIIT!!!"

We walked down to them. And get to the fairgrounds

(Y/N): "Seems like we all advance to the second round"

Sam: "Good job girls. Impressive fight indeed"

Ruby: "Thanks, but..." she leaned on my shoulder "I'm starving now..."

Blake: "I may have worked up an apatite" her stomach growled loudly, surprising us all

Mako: "Wow. Who let the Beowolf loose?" he said earning a glare and a blush from Blake

Blake: "Shut up!"

Weiss: "Gee. If only there was some place on campus to get food around here... Oh wait" she pointed to the fairgrounds

Ruby: "It's okay, Weiss. I forget about the fairgrounds too"

Weiss: "I was being facetious"

(Y/N): "Facetious? Weiss, did you really use the most snobbish word for 'playful'?"

Ruby: "Wh-well. If you were hungry, why didn't you say so?!"

Yang: "Come on! I just know the place" We started walking after Yang, but Weiss stayed behind. I notice someone calls her. I looked over her shoulder to see 'Father' contact name

'Jackass...'

I let Weiss handle this on her own, as we continue to walk we heard someone behind us

???: "Hey! Might be hard to eat without this!" we looked back to see Emerald holding Ruby's wallet

(Y/N): "Ruby, how could you lose your wallet for the second time this day?" as Ruby started panicking and checking her pockets over. Emerald started to laugh and handed Ruby's her wallet

Emerald: "It's good to see you, Ruby"

Ruby: "Oh, thanks Emerald! Guess I dropped it. Guh, girls pockets are the worst!"

Yang: "What's up, Em?"

Emerald: "Just left the stadium after watching both of your amazing fights. You all were awesome!"

(Y/N): "Thanks Emerald"

Ruby: "Oh stop it" she mumbled something "shut your little stupid face..." as she blushed

Blake: "I heard your team progressed to the next round too"

Weiss: "You know, I feel that we haven't seen your teammates"

Ryze: "Are they any good?"

Yang: "How'd they do in the fight?" Emerald thinks for a while

Emerald: "Really well"

Mako: "Kinda too brutal, but I guess that's the winning strategy"

(Y/N): "Like I always say, give your best in a fight or it could come back and kick you in the ass, right Em?" she smirked

Emerald: "Exactly"

Ruby: "That's great. Uh. Why don't we all go and get a victory food together?"

Emerald: "Oh! Gosh, that's so nice of you but, my teammates are all kind of... introverted" We looked behind her to see Mercury sniffing a boot "Really socially awkward"

Yang: "Ooh, yeah. I could see that"

Emerald: "Oh yeah, looks like Merc and I are going to move on to the doubles round. What about you guys?"

(Y/N): "We haven't decided it yet, but most probably me and Sam"

Ruby: "Well as the leader of this team, I thought long and hard about this decision"

Mako: "You girls just voted for it. We were near you when you did it"

Weiss: "Right..."

Ruby: "Uhh, yes but I decided that we should put it to a vote"

Blake: "We voted for Weiss and Yang"

Weiss: "I will happily represent Team RWBY"

Yang: "Yeah, we're going to kick some butt!"

Sam: "Yeah, right. Unless we get to fight you"

Yang: "Is that a threat, Samuel?"

Sam: "More like a promise"

Emerald: "Well, if Merc and I see either of you, we won't go easy on you"

(Y/N): "Same"

Yang: "Wouldn't have it any other way"

Emerald: "Alright, well we're going to catch some more fights"

Ruby: "Have fun!"

Emerald: "See you later!" She and Mercury walked away and started talking. Girls went towards the food stands while me and my team glare at the retreating duo

Ryze: "You think there is something fishy with them too?"

(Y/N): "Yup"

Mako: "Their fighting style is like they tried to kill their opponents..."

Sam: "Come one guys, they have 'bad guys' written all over them! I could sense Emerald's smile was fake when she was talking to us"

(Y/N): "Let's keep an eye on them. I really don't like the feeling they're emitting"

*RMS: "Right" Then a wild Ruby come out of nowhere

Ruby: "Cookie! Get your team! Come on, I'm hungry!" she grabbed my arm and started dragging me

(Y/N): "I'm coming Petals, don't need to rip my arm off"

We get near noodle stand and we tell the old man our orders

Yang: "I'll have a bowl of the regular, please" A massive bowl of noodles slide in front of her. Ruby seemed to like the dish

Ruby: "Ooooh. I'll take the same" she got all excited for her noodles

(Y/N): "I will have an extra spicy one, please" soon a bowl of noodles with some hot peppers get before me

Ryze: "Same" second bowl of spicy noodles get in front of him.

Weiss: "Do you have anything with a low salt...?" a bowl of regular noodles get in front of her "Um... okay..."

Mako: "Extra meat, please" a bowl of regular with an pork chop on top appeared before him

Sam: "Regular with chicken soup, please" he get his order too

Blake just nodded at the shopkeeper as he nods back. He speeds through the back of the store before bringing a massive bowl of noodles with fish as Blake's eyes widen and she starts to drool. Weiss then pulled her card and offered to pay for everyone

Yang: "Aww, Weiss! What's the occasion?"

Weiss: "Consider it a thanks for sending me to the doubles round"

(Y/N): "Weiss, you pay for your team, I will pay for mine" I get my card off and give it to the shopkeeper. He later returns, nods at me and gives me my card back. He then took Weiss' card. Soon after the man throws her card like a shuriken and points to the cash register saying 'Declined'

Weiss: "What?! How can my card be declined?! I was barely into my monthly allowance" Then shopkeeper take Blake's noodles as she slumps down the counter

Blake: "Nooo..."

(Y/N): "Don't worry. I can pay for you girls too"

Yang: "Oh, (Y/N), you don't have to!"

Blake: "But he could!" I laughed

(Y/N): "Hey, old man! I will pay for the ladies too" he nodded, took my card again and later came back with it

Yang: "Just how much money do you have (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "Enough to buy out the entire festival... Perks of being a son of a top scientist in Atlas" the shopkeeper got back with Blake's noodles as we started to eat. Then I spotted team JNPR "Hey! Team JNPR! Come eat with us!" They get near us

Jaune: "We were actually looking for you guys. Mind if we join you?"

(Y/N): "Go for it. Today, it's my treat. Hey, old man! Get their orders too and put it on my bill!" he nodded

They joined us. We all ate together and after finishing, everyone expect Jaune, Ren and Weiss were looking satisfied

Ren: "Are you sure it's wise to have eaten before a fight?"

Pyrrha: "Of course! It will give us energy" Nora burped loudly

Jaune: "Ughhh, if I barf I blaming you..." he pointed at me

(Y/N): "Hey, no one told you to take the biggest one"

Nora: "Oh! Aim it at the enemy!"

Ren: "Nora! That's disgusting. But, if you do feel the urge"

Jaune: "Got it..."

Pyrrha: "Well, we should be off"

Ruby: "So, you think you guys are ready?"

Nora: "Of course. We've got a world renowned fighter on our team, what's basically a ninja, I can bench five of me...J-Jaune...We've trained all year, our weapons are awesome, Glynda barely yells at us anymore, and uh...Jaune!" We all looked at Jaune as his head was on the counter

(Y/N): "Umm..."

Ren: "Are you gonna take that?"

Jaune: "She's not wrong"

Nora: "I'm kidding. He knows I'm kidding. Don't be so nervous. The worst that could happen is we lose. Then it's just a few more years of walking around school with everyone knowing we're failures. Our friends will slowly abandon us to preserve their social status. We won't be able to show our faces in class. No one will sit with us in the cafeteria. And Ren and I have no parents, and we have no home left to go to. We'll be officially renamed Team LOSE-ipier!" Nora laughed miserably, as she loses all colors and slams her head on the counter

Ryze: "I see you have high morale guys..."

Ren: "Yeah... We're feeling pretty good"

Pyrrha: "Don't fret. If anything, we should be looking forward to a fight with actual guidelines and not... well, murderers"

Yang: "Yeah, don't sweat it. We've all faced way worse before"

Blake: "Let's see, Grimm invasions, violent extremists, a destructive sociopath" she counted on her fingers

(Y/N): "And the list goes off..."

Ruby: "And that's all while we were still in training. Oh, imagine what it'll be like when we graduate"

Weiss: "Maybe then I'll be able to pay for a meal..."

Sam: "Don't worry Ice Queen, everything will be alright" he tried to cheer her up, and I could see a faint pink on her cheeks

'Wow. Someone melted Ice Queen's heart. And it's not the God of Sea... or a dog. Well, better Sam than Neptune. At least I know he won't hurt her'

Then we hear an announcement

Port: "Would Team JNPR please report to the battle grounds immediately"

Oobleck: "Yes! Like they were scheduled to, several minutes ago!"

Pyrrha: "Well, it looks like this is it"

Ruby: "Go get 'em!"

(Y/N): "Good luck guys! Oh, Jaune!" he turned around, still looking like he would barf. I threw him some medicine and a bottle of water "Take one and drink some water. Go show them what me and Pyrrha taught you" he nodded and walked behind his team

*Timeskip*

We get back to the stadium. After entering through the main entrance to the arena we turned right. Me and Yang looked behind at Mercury and Emerald.

'Suspicious...'

We get down to our seats and watched as two teams get ready

Port: "Team JNPR of Beacon vs. Team BRNZ (Bronze) of Shade!"

Then the holograms started rolling for a few seconds, stopping on a forest symbol on Team BRNZ half and on a mountain symbol on Team JNPR side.

(Y/N): "Pyrrha will have the higher ground to use her spear... same as Ren to use his SMGs. Nora will be Nora and will just destroy everything in her path while Jaune can use forest to get some sneaky attacks... if he will think about them...."

Port: "3, 2, 1..."

Ruby: "Woohoo!"

Port: "Begin!"

(Y/N): "Show them you've improved... Jaune" I said under my nose as the two teams jumped at each other

A/N And we start a very sad volume... Hope you guys enjoyed it and I will see you in the next chapter.
