➵ Oh Right...I Forgot About That
▸Heathens - Twenty-one Pilots
I groggily woke up in a familiar looking room. Blinking, I raised my hand to rub the sleep out of my eyes. Little dots of red were decorated around my wrist. What? I held both of my wrists in front of me, both showing the pattern. Then it hit me. Theo. The metal binds with spikes. I sat up and looked at my ankles to see that the metal binds were also gone. Wait, where's Lydia? Panicking, I looked around the room in the basement. A whimper caught my attention.
"Lydia? Is that you?" I asked frantically. I stood up, stumbling a bit. I saw blue lights emitting from the room next to mine. Wincing, I pushed the pain away and jogged over. I saw Lydia holding the side of her head. "Lydia!"
"Nevah?" Lydia whispered, looking at me. I slid onto my knees, bringing her into a hug. "You're okay?"
"I've never done this before, Lydia." Theo stormed into the room. I went to press my charm, but Theo caught my hand before I could do so. I glared at him, trying to shake it away. I kicked my leg up, aiming for his head. Theo stumbled to the side, grabbing his temple. I stood up and pressed the charm, hiding Lydia behind me.
"Theo, stay away." I pointed my sword at him. Theo stalked up to me, glaring at the sword. I slashed the blade across his chest, blooding blooming. Theo howled in pain, stumbling back a bit. I smirked, twirling my sword. Theo made his way to me. I swung my sword again in havoc. Slashes and grunts were echoing throughout the basement.
Theo swiped his claws at my face. I leaned back, to the point to where my head almost touched the floor. I kicked my foot into Theo's face. I stood up straight again, raising my sword. Theo ducked, grabbing my wrist. I glared and brought my elbow to his nose. A crunch was heard followed by a gasp. Theo let go of my sword, swiping away the blood dripping onto his lips with the back of his hand.
"You know, Nevah." Theo said, walking sideways, eyeing my celestial bronze blade. "I always knew you were a great swordsman. But how are you with hand-to-hand combat?"
"Amazing." I did a roundhouse kick to his temple again. Theo shuffled, twirling around me. He grabbed my wrist and snapped it. I bit back a scream, using my other hand to yield my sword. Theo suddenly grabbed me by the waist and threw me across the room. My back instantly collided to the stone wall. I cried out in pain. I landed in a heap on the floor, completely dazed. I shakily stood up, only to fall onto the floor again. "Okay...I'll admit it. I didn't see that coming."
"I know how dangerous it is. But it's a risk we have to take. " Theo grunted out, walking up towards Lydia. I tried to push myself up, ignoring the pounding headache and pain.
"No, no, don't!" Lydia protested, trying to walking backwards. She swung her arms forward, trying to hit him. Theo grabbed a hold of her arms, claws wrapping around her wrist. He held both of her wrists with one hand as the other went towards her neck.
"Theo no!" I jumped up to my feet, stumbling a bit. Theo inserted his claws into the back of Lydia's neck. Lydia's mouth opened in shock, her eyes wide. "Lydia!"
"What do you think, Lydia? Am I doing it right?" Theo gritted out. I stopped and looked at Lydia in worry. The pack has told me about the method an Alpha can do by inserting their claws into the back of someone's neck to access their memories. Theo isn't an Alpha. How is he doing this? I can't do anything. I can't help her. I will only make it worse. Theo looked up, seeming to be in some sort of daze. "Yes, I see it. I can see it."
Theo yanked his hands away from Lydia's neck and walked towards the cylinder that Liam was hooked up to when we were captured. I instantly rushed forward, ignoring Theo. Lydia was my top priority right now. Lydia was looking straight forward, kneeling on the wet floor. She wasn't even acknowledging me. She was out of it.
"Lydia?" I whimpered out, lightly placing my hand to her cheek. She didn't react. Lydia was unresponsive. She was catatonic. "Lydia, come on."
A hand wrapped itself around my neck, pulling me upwards. I gasped. My hands went straight to Theo's wrists, trying my best to tug them away. Pain shot up my hurt wrist. Theo held me up into the air, my feet only a couple of inches off of the ground. He squeezed tighter, causing me to choke and wheeze.
"You know, you have been a pain in my ass the entire time." Theo said, glaring daggers at me. My eyes were starting to water and my face was heating up. "You're lucky I still need you."
"Theo." I wheezed out. My lungs were burning. I couldn't get any air. I couldn't breathe. Theo flung me to the wall behind me, my head hitting the brick wall. My back landed on the floor. Black dots invaded my vision. I saw Theo throw Lydia over his shoulder before he came towards me. He carried me in his arms roughly. That was the last thing before all I saw was black.

"Come on Lydia. Come on, Nevah." Theo dragged us behind him. I had woken up when Theo yanked me out of his truck minutes earlier. We were in the forest, currently looking for the Nemeton. He threw us onto the ground. Lydia stared blankly ahead. I weakly clutched the back of my head, feeling a warm liquid. Putting my hand in front of my face I saw a crimson colored substance. Blood. I looked up to see a large cut down tree trunk with the dead Chimeras leaning up against it. Is this the Nemeton? Theo stalked forward with a large looking syringe containing green liquid. "Watch this. You think you lost your mind, Lydia? Well watch this!"
Theo started injecting the dead Chimeras one by one, starting off with Tracy. Tracy gasped, arching her back off of the Nemeton. Then Corey. Then Josh. Theo turned a body onto it's side. My eyes widened as I recognized it to be Hayden. Oh gods. She died. Hayden died. When did this happen? Theo injected her with the green stuff as well, placing her back onto the ground. Hayden's eyes shot open. The four now living and breathing Chimeras stood up, examining their surroundings.
"What...what's happening?" Hayden asked, not acknowledging Lydia and I. She hasn't even seen us. I was too weak to speak, let alone move. My throat was hurting along with my wrist and head.
"Who are you?" Tracy questioned, looking at Theo.
"I'm your Alpha. And all of you." Theo raised the syringe and pointed at all of them. "All of you belong to me."
Theo turned his back on them, looking down at me grinning. He raised his leg and kicked me in the head, knocking me out.

A constant beeping noise and the smell of Lysol came to my sense. I let out a raspy groan, turning my head on a pillow. My throat was extremely parched. Fluttering my eyes open, I saw an off white colored room, an empty chair, and a tv hung up on the wall. Am I at the hospital? I sat up, ignoring the pounding headache and pain in my broken wrist that held a blue cast. I could feel a soft fabric wrapped around my head.
Where's Lydia? Is she okay? The door opened and Melissa walked in with a clip board, clicking her pen. She looked up and sighed in relief. She walked over to me, placing the clip board and pen onto the silver tray next to me.
"You feeling alright? Any pain?" Melissa asked. "The medicine should have worn off already."
"Where's Lydia?" I rasped out. "Where's the rest of the pack? Theo? The Chimeras?"
"Lydia is in a room a down the hallway. Stiles' is with her right now I think. Scott, Liam, Mason and Malia are somewhere. Here drink this, it'll help soothe your throat." Melissa replied, handing me a cup of water. She applied the pressure cuff around my forearm as I greedily drank the water. She pressed the button on the machine, the cuff inflating around my arm. "Sally and Paul are on their way from New York right now. They should be here in a couple of hours."
"What!?" I exclaimed, the heartbeat monitor beeped loudly. "Why?"
"Hey, hey. Calm down. It's regulation. We have to call the parent or guardian. In your case guardian." Melissa stated. She sighed and restarted the blood pressure test. "Now stay calm."
"I'm sorry." I whispered, looking down at my cast. Melissa looked at me in question.
"Sorry for what?"
"Not protecting the pack. Not keeping them safe." I muttered out. "I failed my job. My quest."
"Hey. You did your best and that's all I can be thankful for. You warned Scott. You warned the pack. The rest was on them. Don't blame yourself for already doing your part." Melissa wrote my blood pressure onto the clip board and took off the cuff. Melissa finished up taking my vitals and held the clip board and pen in her hands. "I'll go find Stiles. He wanted me to inform him if you woke up while he was with Lydia."
Melissa sent me a smile and walked out the door. I sighed, leaning back down onto the hospital bed. What am I to do now? How am I supposed to help this pack defeat Theo and the Dread Doctors? The door opened a few seconds later, Stiles' popping his head in.
"Hey." He whispered, closing the door behind him.
"Hi." I gave him a small smile. "How's Lydia? Melissa wouldn't give me much information on her."
"Uh," Stiles licked his lips, bringing the chair closer to my bed before sitting in it. "She's still catatonic, if you didn't know that. Parrish brought you two in with injuries and hypothermia...Theo accessed her memories...didn't he?"
"Yeah, I tried to stop him. I did. But I ended up with these." I pointed to head and raised my cast.
"You, uh, also have a pretty bad bruising on your throat too." Stiles softly stated, pointing towards my neck.
"Oh...right. Forgot about that." I mumbled. He tilted his head and looked at my wrist. Looking up at me for a second, he gently grabbed my exposed wrist and turned it over, the IV facing the bed. "Stiles, what are you doing?"
"What are these?" Stiles asked, gently rubbing his thumb over the dotted scabs. "Are these scabs?"
"Uh...When Theo first got Lydia and I at the library, he, um, he kind of used some spike metal binds to keep me from saving Lydia. They ended up digging into my skin the more I tried to get out of them." I told Stiles, looking at him as he analyzed the dotted pattern.
"Did he also use them for your ankles too?" Stiles looked up at me. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yeah, how did you know?" I asked.
"Melissa told me about these weird dots around your wrists and ankles." He muttered out. By now, Stiles was nervously playing with my fingers. It looked like he wasn't aware that he was doing that. Stiles stared at my eyes. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" I studied him. His eyes were glassy. His cheeks had tear stains on them. He was also nervously tapping his foot. "Stiles...what else happened?"
"What?" Stiles wrinkled his eyebrows. "I'm trying to say I'm sorry and you are asking what else happened."
"Uh...yup. That's what I said, no?" I nodded. Stiles let out a small chuckle, shaking his head.
"Let me apologize first and then I will tell you, okay?" Stiles compromised. I nodded. Stiles took a deep breath in and licked his lips again. "Okay. Look...I'm sorry for overreacting and blaming you the other day. I-that was wrong of me. I knew deep down you didn't know Scott would react that way, but I-I was still hung up about what Scott had said and I took it out on you...I-"
"Hey, I kind of figured that out." I sent him a small smile, interlacing our hands to comfort him. He looked down at our hands, biting his lip. "I forgive you."
"You sure? Because I was kind of a jackass to you." Stiles muttered out, avoiding eye contact with me.
"I'm positive. You were going through something really tough, you weren't thinking straight. It's okay, Stiles." I nodded.
"It's my dad." Stiles choked out, his eyes watering. I looked at him worriedly.
"What's wrong with the Sherriff? What happened?"
"He uh...Theo did something to him I guess. I don't quite know. He had surgery a couple of hours ago and he was doing fine. He was healing. But a couple of minutes ago, they told me he got worse. He's...he looks pretty bad." Stiles breathed out. A tear streamed down his face. My heart ached. I scooted over on my bed, and patted the empty spot. Stiles looked at me confused.
"Come sit here." I whispered. Stiles nodded, getting out of his seat and sitting next to me. I immediately wrapped my arms around him, giving him a hug. Stiles snaked his arms around my waist, crying into my shoulder. Tears pricked my eyes at the sight. He shouldn't have to go through this. He doesn't deserve this. I rubbed my hand in circular motions on his back, trying my best to soothe him. "He's going to be okay. We'll find out why he isn't okay? We'll help him."
