"Double trouble."
Hana was casually painting when her phone buzzed.
At first the woman was going to ignore it, thinking that it was Megatron, but in a split second, she changed her mind and grabbed her phone.
A soft sigh escaped her lips in relief. It wasn't Megatron, but it was Pan.
'Careful,' Pan had texted, 'Trouble might spawn in town today.'
The Hammer girl had sent a picture of Jack getting into Smokescreen's alt-mode, then one of the young Autobot leaving base.
"Damn it," Hana muttered as she quickly packed up her paints, "Why is it always boys who cause trouble?"
🌈
Guess who caught Jack and Smokescreen's holoform in the act of messing up Vincent's car.
If you guessed, Pocahontas Smith, then you were right.
"Oi!" Hana shouted at the pair, a frown on her face as both boys froze, "What the slag do you think you fraggers are doing?!"
Jack and Smokescreen had turned around to see the art teacher with her arms crossed with an eyebrow raised.
"Getting a fragger back?" Smokescreen offered.
Hana's eyes narrowed on him, before going to Jack, "You're really teaching him this about fast food?"
Jack raised his hands in surrender, "I swear it wasn't intentional."
Hana sighed, pitching the ridge of her nose as she shook her head, "Let's just get back to base," she said, shooting them glares that made them wince, "Before someone gets hurt."
"Yes, ma'am," Smokescreen saluted before his holoform disappeared.
Hana shook her head as she and Jack go into the Autobot's alt-mode, "And make sure your holoform is out of plain sight before deactivating it," she scolded the young 'bot.
Jack winced as Smokescreen's quiet gulp could be heard through the radio, "Yes, boss."
Hana looked at Jack, "And you have a lot of explaining to do."
It was Jack's turn to gulp quietly as Smokescreen didn't say anything.
🌈
Smokescreen and Jack returned to base laughing with Hana rolling her eyes at them.
The woman made her way up to Pan who tilted her head in question, only to get a roll of the eyes from her. A sigh escaping Hana's lips as she sat down tiredly next to Pan.
"I am so posting this tonight," Jack declared, laughing, before he spotted his guardian, "Arcee! Arcee, check out Vince's car!"
Arcee frowned as she looked at her charge’s phone, "The bully?"
"Hey, Vince," Jack said as he and Smokescreen shared a glance, "Did you want fries with that?"
The pair burst out laughing.
Pan rolled her eyes, 'I understand now,' she signed to Hana.
The art teacher sighed, "I gave up on telling them off, half way through the ride back here," she admitted, not that she was playing favourites or anything "And Vince did kinda deserve it, in a way."
"Let me get this straight," Arcee said, shaking her helm slightly, "So you taught Smokescreen everything he never needed to know about fast food."
"He passed drivers ed," Jack shrugged, "Work hard, play hard."
"Uh, yeah," Smokescreen agreed, "No humans were harmed in the making of these photos, honest."
"Just their pride," Pan muttered making Hana chuckle quietly at the girl's sass. Amusement twitched at her lips.
Hana needed this. A chance to escape the trouble that came with dating the Warlord of the Decepticons.
Arcee wasn't pleased, "Really?" She snipped, "I highly doubt that."
And that moment was gone.
Then Jack did something he would regret for the rest of his life, "Look, I'm sorry that Nilsa hasn't been talking to you, but you shouldn't let that get in the way of a little fun."
Arcee froze, her faceplates showing the betrayal that she felt for a split second before she shook her helm and practically stormed away.
"Arcee!" Jack called after her, his eyes wide with horror at what he had said, "I didn't…"
Hana blinked at the scene, her eyes wide, "What the hell is going on?" She asked out loud.
Pan winced next to her, "Romeo and Juliet, Cybertronian and Human style, I'm going to assume."
Hana turned to look at Pan, confusion flooding through her body, "Jack wasn't talking about Nilsa Queen, was he?"
Pan's eyebrows furrowed, 'I would assume he was,' she signed, 'That's the only "Nilsa" I know of.'
🌈
“How are you going, Optimus?” Hana asked the Prime curiously.
“I am nearly finished decoding the next Iacon coordinates,” Optimus answered Hana’s curiosity easily. He opened his intake to continue saying something, when a beeping noise kept him from talking.
“You may not need to complete your task, Optimus,” Ratchet said as a map of the world appeared on his computer.
“An Iacon-locator beacon,” Optimus frowned.
Ratchet nodded, “It seems the Decepticons have already excavated the next relic.”
“Ratchet, triangulate coordinates and activate the ground bridge,” Optimus told the medic.
“Bring on the Cons!” Bulkhead grinned eagerly, looking forward to going back into the field.
Optimus looked at the three Autobots, noting something, “Where is Smokescreen?”
“Out training again with Jack,” Arcee said bitterly, crossing her arms over her chassis.
Optimus’s optics glanced over her for a second before he shook his helm, “We cannot wait. Autobots, transform and roll out!”
Pan nervously twiddled her fingers, an act that didn’t go unnoticed by her art teacher.
“What’s wrong, Pan?” Hana asked the Hammer girl, concern showing on her face.
Pan frowned, “I don’t know.”
🌈
A beep from Ratchet’s computer made the medic frown in confusion, before his optics widened.
“Optimus, I just picked up a second Iacon-locator beacon,” Ratchet attempted to comm the Autobot Leader, only to reach static, “Optimus, do you read?”
More static made the trio inside the Autobot base even more nervous.
The sudden screeching of Smokescreen’s tires made the two humans and the Cybertronian look over at the young Autobot who transformed laughing with Jack.
“Oh, dude!” Jack laughed, “My boss is gonna freak!”
“That thing we stuffed in his tailpipe what's it called again?” Smokescreen asked, laughing.
“Pizza!” Jack snorted.
Ratchet glared at the pair, “Will you two keep it down?” He snapped before attempting to contact the ‘bot’s out in the field, “Arcee? Bulkhead? Can anyone hear me?”
“Ratchet, what's going on?” Jack asked, all joking fading away.
“Our sensors detected a second Iacon-locator beacon,” Ratchet answered, “But I can't reach Optimus.”
“I'll go,” Smokescreen volunteered.
“Alone?” Ratchet scoffed, raising an optical ridge.
“You have a better option?” Smokescreen asked.
“Fine,” Ratchet snipped.
🌈
“Where’s Jack?” Pan asked, looking around.
Ratchet and Hana looked at the girl, then realizing her words and looking around themselves.
Ratchet groaned, “Not again.”
“Again?” Hana asked, her eyes wide. What the hell went on in Team Prime?
Pan sighed, “He pulled a “Miko”. He went after Smokescreen.”
“One of you have to (wo)man the groundbridge,” Ratchet told the two females, “I have to go after them.”
Hana shook her head firmly, “Team Prime need you here, I’ll go through and get the idiot.”
Ratchet hesitated, knowing well enough what Optimus would say, “Ratchet,” Hana insisted, her eyes confidant, “Let me.”
Ratchet hesitated yet again, his optics meeting Pan’s. A flash of blue had the medic convinced, “Alright,” he relented, “But just get Jack and text Pan when you’ve got him.”
“I will,” Hana promised him, not knowing what she was getting into.
🌈
“Why doesn't Megatron just take the Star Saber?” Jack asked, his blue eyes watching the ‘cons suspiciously.
“Germaphobe?” Smokescreen shrugged.
“Seriously, we need to wait for backup,” Jack insisted.
“You heard Ratchet,” Somescreen said, “Backup's not available right now.”
“Really?”
Both males spun around to see Hana frowning at them, “Really, Jack?”
Jack winced under his art teacher’s narrowed eyed glare, “Sorry?” he offered.
Hana sighed before looking at Smokescreen, “I’m not going to be able to stop you, am I?”
“Nope,” Smokescreen answered before taking off.
“Boys,” Hana sighed, shaking her head, “You never think things through.”
Jack winced again.
“Enough!”
Hana’s eyes widened at the familiar voice, before sighing. Of course Megatron would be here.
“Commence transport!”
Guns being fired, and a certain white bot with red and blue streaks ran across the landscape, “You have got to be kidding me,” Hana groaned and facepalmed as Jack winced.
“We might need to work on supletly,” Jack admitted sheepishly.
Hana didn’t even bother glaring at him, her hand flying to cover her mouth as Smokescreen lay on the ground, dizzy, “No!”
“This can't be happening! “ Jack shook his head, bringing his phone out, ““Ratchet, you gotta get Optimus here now. Smokescreen went for the relic. I-it's called the "Star Sabe”-”
Hana and Jack gulped as a shadow appeared over them, both turning around slowly to see the Insecticon standing over them.
“That’s not good,” Hana muttered before she and Jack bolted.
:[Where in the name of Cybertron are you?]: Ratchet’s voice asked, :[And did you say "Star Saber"?]:
Hana barely managed to dodge the claw of the Insecticon that attempted to strike her, only barely holding back a scream.
“Run, Jack!” Hana shouted as yet another Insecticon appeared.
Jack’s eyes widened as he ran under one’s legs, only to come face to face with another, “Seriously?”
Hana and Jack were split up as a third Insecticon appeared. The third chasing after Hana while the first and the second chased after Jack.
Hana ducked behind a tree for a second, only to run out when the tree started to fall down, “I’m suing!” she shouted, not really understanding why she said that, but finding it amusing when the Insecticon paused for a millisecond in confusion.
Of course, Hana's luck could only last so long.
The tree root that suddenly appeared, hooking around Hana's foot and tripping her up, was proof of that.
Hana groaned, "Why does this always happen?" She muttered, pushing herself up from the ground then twisting around so she was sitting.
Then her mind caught up to the events happening in front of her as the Insecticon appeared.
Hana's eyes closed as the Insecticon neared, knowing that with her foot still stuck in the root there was no way she would get out of this, she unconsciously held her hand up as if she would be able to stop the Insecticon.
The forest was quiet as Hana peeked her eyes open, her brown eyes widening when she saw that the Insecticon had frozen, it's optics staring at her in surprise.
Then suddenly the quiet was gone as a pink and blue blur kicked the Insecticon away in mid air.
"Hana!"
Jack helped the art teacher unwrap her foot from the tree root.
Hana sighed in relief as Arcee came back looking perfectly fine, "Thanks, Arcee," she smiled to the femme.
Arcee nodded, "Let's go," she told the two humans
Little did Hana know; the reason behind the Insecticon's surprise and failure to kill her, was that the paint on her hand had moved to shape the Decepticon symbol in the middle of her palm.
🌈
Hana’s eyes widened as her jaw dropped at the sight of Optimus flying through the air.
The art teacher knew that Jack was in a similar state next to her as they, and the Autobots watched the great Prime in amazement and shock.
Hana wasn’t sure how Optimus managed to survive the drop from the rock that had held the “Star Saber” as her eyes had been watching the familiar silver alt-mode that flown up to the warship.
“I loosened it for him,” Smokescreen announced, making Hana’s eyes move back to the Prime who stood with the massive sword.
Jack snorted at Smokescreen’s attempt to seem important, “Sure,” he muttered.
Relief was present in the air as Team Prime relaxed slightly.
It was only when a freaking mountain was dropped from the warship did that all fade away.
“Optimus, retreat!” Arcee shouted to Optimus who turned to look at them.
“Now!” Bulkhead roared, panic in his voice.
Optimus turned around from Team Prime, barely fazed as he brought the sword up and managed to cut the mountain in half.
Hana just shook her head, “That should surprise me, but it doesn’t.”
“Did he just..?” Bulkhead started with wide optics, Bumblebee buzzed something that Hana couldn’t understand.
“No way,” Jack gasped.
Optimus looked up at the Warship before taking a run up and somehow throwing a beam of energy at the ship that stuck it, sending it down far, far, away.
“He can do that?” Smokescreen gaped.
Hana didn’t say anything, her eyes watching as the warship disappeared from sight. A frown ever so present on her lips.
🌈
“We Decepticons now face our darkest hour,” Megatron said gravely, before his optics caught an image that made his spark freeze up.
Why was Hana with the Autobots?!
🌈
“How epic was that” Smokescreen as as they walked through the groundbridge, back into the Autobot base where Pan and Ratchet waited, “I-I saw it with my own optics. But I still don't believe it!”
“You know what I don't believe?” Arcee snapped at him, “That after everything you've been told, you still put a human at risk!”
Hana smiled slightly as Pan signed, asking if she was okay.
The woman didn’t miss the way that the girl kept glancing at the Star Saber with an odd look in her eyes.
“A-Arcee, it wasn't his fault,” Jack tried to help Smokescreen, “I shouldn't have g-”
“Don't you even start with me!” Arcee turned on him next, “We'll talk tomorrow,” she turned to Ratchet, “Send Jack home.”
Ratchet nodded, powering up the groundbridge for Jack to walk through. Hana glanced at Pan who gestured for her to go on.
“Wait up, Jack,” Hana called, jogging after him and through the groundbridge before Ratchet turned it off.
Jack winced not looking excited as the art teacher joined him.
“Don’t you ever do that again,” Hana scolded.
Jack winced, “Sorry, Hana.”
Hana raised an eyebrow at him, “Careful, if you don’t come back one day, I don’t want to be the one that tells Alik why you’re never coming back.”
The Darby boy sighed, “I’ll try my best,” he promised.
Both knowing that, that was going to be the best promise that they would be able to keep.
Here's Chapter Fifteen!
