Chapter Four
Dealing With The Devil

The cool barrel was still pressed up onto the back of my neck, the man behind it not giving much insight as to who he is and what he wants.
"Let's make a deal," He broke the silence once more. "You don't kill any of us, and we don't kill you. Hm?"

"First, you can get your gun off my neck. Then we can talk." I answered, staring down the road. Part of me wants to see this mystery person's face.
After a moment of thought, the gun fell from my skin, making a click sound along with it. "Fair deal." He sighed.

Slowly, I turned to face the heathen, to see how unforgiving he really looked. But I was met with surprise.
This man... didn't look half bad. Had a small beard, beauty mark above his lip. He actually looked around our ages. A sly smile was painted on his face. "Ah, didn't expect you guys to look so young with how you handled your guns."
"Should we take that as a compliment?" Lui mumbled, seemingly as confused as I was. The man continued on.

"By the way, what's your guy's names? Or, if you're more comfortable, a nickname."
We were all skeptical, of course, but what would he have against us? Our names?
David ended up introducing all of us. "This shortie is Lui, guy next to him is called Delirious. I'm Nogla, and the Canadian is Vanoss." He pointed to us in turn, using our nicknames that Lui gave us.

The man nodded. "Nice. You can call me Wildcat."
Wildcat, or whatever, raised his hand to shake. What's with this dude?
I sighed, grasping it firmly. We shook once, and released immediately.

"Alright. This building right here is where we stay. Pretty nice, everyone's done up an office. We can talk in there." Wildcat clapped his hands together, smirking once again.
"Look, we can talk here," Jon cut in. "We can just agree to, somehow, live in the same city and never speak to each other again." He cut straight to the chase. Wildcat's face fell from... well, whatever happy emotion he was experiencing.

"Look. I was sent down here to talk to you guys, and honestly, I'd rather shoot myself. This is our terf. Now, you have three options; talk with us, have us kill you, or fuck off to the next city." His voice was thick with hate as he counted on his fingers. "Which will it be?"

"Come on, now, Wilde. That's no way to treat newcomers, is it?" Someone cut in before any of us could even breathe. He walked out from the building Wildcat was referring to, grinning ear-to-ear. Wildcat forced a smile onto his face, probably trying not to roll his eyes. "I suppose not." His voice was laced with acid.

The other dude turned to face us, placing his hands on his hips. "You can call me Terroriser. Now, if you would please, follow us. It'd do both of our groups good, you know." His irish accent was thicker than David's, but seemed more friendly.
"We don't have a choice, do we?" David questioned, scratching the back of his neck. With the same welcoming joyfulness, Terroriser shook his head no.

I let the others walk in first, not trusting this Wildcat character at all. With how he glared, I can confirm he's not a fan of me, either.

"Now, boys. We didn't want to make a bad impression, but it seems we already have." Terroriser sat in a very business-like matter after leading us to the first office of the top floor. I leaned against the wall, and crossed my arms around my chest. David, Lui, and Jon occupied the three seats surrounding the desk. "You see," he sighed. "There is an enemy out there, greater power than what we already have here. And I'm sure you noticed, we have quite a bit.
When we took notice of those two-" He motioned at Jon and Lui. "We naturally thought they were part of them. And, I apologize."
This guy is definitely one of the nicer ones I've met. He couldn't possibly be the one that murdered mom...

"I understand." Jon mumbled in a small voice, his head tilting downwards.

"So, we need to work together to bring down this greater evil. Which brings us to our big question: Would you like to join with us?" Terroriser's demeanor changed to one of utter seriousness, which sent a chill down my spine. Tensions rose between our small group, but alas, we trusted David with answering. He was the leader, after all.

He seemed deep in thought, weighing the pros and cons. Terroriser sat with his determined eye, continually staring at him. Wildcat was supporting himself with his right arm on the table, not bothering himself with at least acting nice.
Finally, David sighed, staring back at their leader with matching intensity. "If you promise not to harm any of these men."

"We'll treat them as we treat each other- like family." Terroriser reached over the desk, his hand outstretched. David shook his, ending the deal on that note.
Wildcat walked away from the table towards the closed door, only glancing over to meet eyes once more. I couldn't even tell how that dude felt.

Not a moment later, a slightly shorter male entered the office, nodding to Terroriser once before directing his attention towards us. "We've set up several living spaces for newcomers. Their doors are open with a key hanging from the knob." He quickly explained, like he knew we were going to agree.

"Oh, before I forget. My name is Brock."
