Chapter 14 - Judgment and condemnation.

June 1972.

Since Alan woke up from the coma, he stayed in the hospital for a week, recovering, but he did not want to be visited by any of his college colleagues. A week later, Alan left the hospital and went home and the police took his testimony and by order of the judge and the police, he was barred from going back to college until the day of the trial, because the authorities did not want Alan threatened at some point. The trial was scheduled for Friday, June 2.

On that day Roger, Hilton and Pamela had to be present at the trial to see if they really are guilty. Freddie, Brian, Roger, John, Vivian, Clare, Helena, Josephine, Ryan and Tim were there toattend the trial. Shortly thereafter, Roger, Pamela and Hilton entered with lawyers and Alan with his lawyer. The judge and prosecutor were already in the courtroom, waiting for Alan, who shortly thereafter appeared with his lawyer. Alan's parents were sitting across the room. Alan looked at Roger, Hilton and Pamela and sat down next to his lawyer.

Shortly thereafter, the trial began, which would not be long. Alan confirmed to the judge that he had decided to accept jumping off the trampoline because of the bet. Alan was lucky not to have had any sequels.

"And then Alan, since you confirmed that it was the challenge, tell everyone present, who pushed you on the trampoline?" Roger, Hilton or Pamela? The judge asked.

Alan looked at the three with grief and then at the judge and said,

"Who pushed me off the trampoline, it was Hilton. He's responsible. Roger and Pamela were not to blame.

Hilton had closed her eyes, realizing that she could not escape the damnation. Roger looked at his colleague and felt betrayed, after all, as much Pamela as he had told the blond that had not pushed Alan, that he had been unbalanced or slipped.

"Roger and Pamela are not to blame, but they also urged you to jump off the trampoline," the judge said. "They are indirectly guilty.

"No," said Alan, looking at Roger and Pamela. "The truth is, Pamela said for a moment that I should jump to show how brave I was and I confess that I was encouraged to do it because of her because I always had a loving attraction for her.

Pamela exchanged glances with Alan and the girl was extremely sorry for everything she had done.

- As for Roger, realizing that I did not want to jump off the trampoline because of the height, because I was very scared, he said that I was not forced to jump, to do something without my will, that I would already be accepted in his group , of the Taylor gang. - Alan said - Roger urged me not to jump and I was about to give up actually jumping, but, Hilton who was closest to me, pushed me, without Roger having seen. Roger does not deserve to be punished, does not deserve to be convicted, in the end really he was not to blame for anything. Roger is a good boy, I feel it and I confess that I really want to be his friend and I forgive you Roger, for all the times that you did not care for me and that you treated me with indifference. Roger is a good guy, you should just stop walking with the wrong people and he will have a good future.

Roger was bowed, thinking of all of Alan's words. As soon as the trial was over, he'd give Alan a big hug.

"What about Miss Pamela?" Is she guilty or innocent, like your colleague, Roger? The judge asked, and Alan looked at the girl.

"Pamela saw that the one who pushed me was Hilton," Alan said sadly. She saw it, but from what she knew she protected him, she omitted the information. But Pamela was not to blame either. Nor does she deserve to be condemned. I know it's all in your hands, Mr. Judge, but Roger and Pamela should not be arrested or convicted. If there is any other appeal that applies to them, but, Hilton deserves to be convicted. He pushed me, without mercy or pity.

Hilton was crying silently, and those who attended the trial were speechless. Helena was astonished when she heard everything Alan was saying. Roger really is innocent. Okay, it all started because of the stupid challenge, but in the end, the blonde asked Alan not to jump, but, Hilton pushed him. Helena realized that she had done great injustice by saying horrible things to Roger, without any concrete evidence.

"Okay, Alan, thank you very much for your testimony that was very enlightening," said the judge.

Then Roger confessed that it was really a stupid challenge and Pamela also confirmed it. Hilton said she was sorry she had pushed Alan, but in fact he was not. Hilton was always the kind of guy, bad boy, unscrupulous.

"We'll be back in an hour," the judge said. "Whether with convictions or not.

Roger did not know what would happen to him, but deep down he was confident he would not be arrested, he could even serve some time in prison.

An hour later the judge returned with the convictions.

- The young Hilton XXX is sentenced to serve three years in prison in a closed scheme, for having pushed Alan, knowing the risk he would run and also knowing that the young man was afraid of height - said the judge.

Hilton was crying, desperate.

"I can not be arrested, I can not," he said loudly, and the policemen tried to control him and pulled him out of the room, already handcuffing him.

- As for Miss Pamela XXX - The judge said - She will be sentenced to two years in prison, but she will not be able to leave London, to any city, even if she is from the United Kingdom and will provide community services, as a female prison, will continue to study college, but part-time will be doing her job in jail.

Pamela was crying because she would not be arrested in jail. Now there was only Roger's condemnation, and they were all attentive.

- As for the young Roger Meddows Taylor, proving himself to be a coherent young man, asking Alan not to jump off the trampoline, because he was not obliged, he actually showed regret for something so vile. As for Roger Meddows Taylor, he will provide community services for one year in the city of London. And you can go on with your normal life, "the judge said." And the trial is over. " Good morning everyone.

Brian, Freddie and John hugged each other along with Helena, Vivian, Clare and Tim. Josephine, Roger's girlfriend could not be present at the trial because she would have proof of the college and Roger was hurt with her.

Roger then hugged Pamela and headed toward the young Alan. Pamela also went to the boy.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for everything, Alan," Pamela said, crying in total regret. "I was very wrong, I'll carry that remorse forever, with me.

"It's not necessary, Pamela," Alan said, looking at her. "I forgive you, Pamela.

Pamela then hugged Alan tightly and they both cried together. Roger was at his side, waiting to speak to Roger. A few minutes later, Alan broke the hug with Pamela and looked at Roger. The blond drummer's eyes were filled with water, completely ashamed.

"I'm sorry, Alan, I'm sorry," Roger said with tears in his eyes. "Please forgive me.

Alan at that moment hugged Roger tightly and wept together.

- You're already forgiven. What I said is true, Rog, I want to be your friend, really. And we'll have plenty of time to talk about it. "Alan smiled at Roger.

"Of course we will, Alan," Roger said, looking at his classmate holding him again.

A short time later, Alan broke the embrace and said,

- I'll see you on Monday. Now I have to go with my parents and your friends and sister are expecting you, Roger.

Roger saw that his friends were present, next to Clare and that even Helena was present. What was Helen doing at her trial? Did she come humiliate him again?

Roger then went to the group of friends and hugged Freddie, John, Brian and Tim effusively, excited. Then she hugged Vivian and finally her sister, Clare, with force and they cried.

"I hope you've learned from all this, Rog, to do nothing but do nothing else." As for community services, they'll rip you up much faster. "Clare ran a hand over her brother's long blond hair and kissed his cheek. "I love you very much, Rog.

Roger smiled at his sister and kissed her cheek.

"I love you too, my sister," smiled the drummer.

Helena watched in silence, and after she had untied her sister's embrace, Roger approached the brunette who was looking at him in silence, ashamed.

"What are you doing here, Helena?" Roger asked seriously. "Did I invite you to attend my trial?"

"Who invited me were the boys and I wanted to be here to see if you really were guilty or innocent and in the end I saw that you really were innocent, Roger," Helena said looking at him.

Roger smiled wryly at her and looked at her indecipherably.

"My words were not enough when he said he was innocent. I confess that I omitted from you that Alan's accident was not caused by the bet, I did not mean all this at the time, in front of the other students, but from the beginning I always said that I was innocent and you did not believe me, on the contrary, he kicked me out, said horrible things about me in front of many Imperial College students. Well, now you have swallowed, word for word, Helena, the owner of truth. Helena, the owner of the truth, always - said Roger higher calling the attention of his friends, sister and Pamela and Alan who were still talking.

Helena, who had always been confident and always confronted Roger, without fear, in fact, without fear of facing anyone, was now extremely embarrassed by everything she said to Roger and acknowledged that she had been very unfair to him.

"I'm here to apologize for everything I said to you, Roger, and I confess and acknowledge that I was unjust, that I said horrible things about you without really knowing you," said the brunette looking at the blonde.

"You really do not know me, Helen, you do not know anything about me. And I will not forgive you, okay? Think and reflect for the next time, do not accuse people without knowing what actually happened and I want to inform you that I will talk to my lawyer about prosecuting you for moral damages, "said Roger.

Helena watched him startled and her green eyes glittered. And Roger's blue eyes looked at her sadly. Roger turned away from Helena, completely happy not to have been condemned, but also, sad, for being judged by Helena and he did not even understand why this sadness, since she means nothing to him and Roger found that feeling of sadness totally weird.

To be continued.
