Unprepared
I opened my eyes slowly after I had reached out to grab for Chibs only to find that I was alone in bed.
Sighing deeply I knew that he never came home. Of course I couldn't really be surprised if he said that Jax has something that needed to be done late last night then they had probably been out all night.
I wasn't entirely thrilled that I seem to be kept in the dark once again. After turning over my patch it seemed as if nobody wanted to tell me anything. I sighed and rolled back over onto my back making sure to keep the covers from exposing my naked body.
Even though I was alone in the bedroom I still felt insecure about laying naked in the open. Odd how one's mind works sometimes. Lolling my head to the side I glanced to the nightstand to my right seeing my phone lying there. I reached over I plucked it up from the table seeing that nobody had messaged me I frowned.
I became slightly worried seeing as how Chibs never sent me never sent me a message saying that he wouldn't be home by the time I awoke. Still the worried that I felt did not excuse the fact that I had to work today.
Getting ready for the day and walking through an empty house which was not even mine was extremely odd. Being so early in the morning I wasn't entirely used to being alone here. I had grown so used to seeing chibs sitting at the breakfast table with his reading glasses on and a newspaper folded out on the table. That was a sight sorely missed this morning.
And it seems to have only gotten worse when I stepped outside.
I froze when I stepped out onto the front porch. Before me sat two Mayan bikers.
"Senorita, hola."
The older of the two greeted me. I froze for a moment wondering if I should rush back inside. I knew that Clay made a patch with Alvarez, but for two Myans to be at my doorstep...
"We were sent here by your uncle. He wants to make sure you're kept safe."
"Why would Clay send two Mayans to pick me up and not our club members?"
I questioned. The two looked at each other and then back to me.
"You're more than welcome to call him."
"He said you wouldn't trust us."
They both said. And that's what I did. I pulled out my phone and called Clay. Sure enough, they were telling the truth.
"We've got to have the guys busy else where. I asked Alvarez to lend me some of his guys to come pick you up."
Clay said on the other end of the phone. I swallowed.
"Why do I need picked up? I can take my dad's bike and -- "
"The Irish are in town doing business with us. It's better safe than sorry."
My heart stopped. The Irish? Did Clay mean --
"Uncle? Is he -- "
"Yeah, he's here and so is your mother."
I felt my heart stop. I wasn't prepared for any of this.
