"Stop being a baby and do it already!" Mike shouted at Lucas, who was in the  dumpster behind the school.

"This is disgusting, is this really necessary?" Max asked.

"Lucas please don't forget to take a shower after this." Clove pleaded.

"Yeah, i've got that Clove." Lucas said in a sassed to her .

"What the hell is going on?" Dustin asked as he ran around to them.

"What do you think? We're looking for dart." Mike said just as a couple trash bags flew out at them, causing Clove to gasp and step back while Lucas swung himself out of the dumpster.

"Well well well, look who finally decided to show up after I drew the short straw. Real convenient." Lucas said with a eye roll.

"You stink." Max said in disgust while she walked away from Lucas to stand near Dustin causing Clove to look away.

"Hi Max." Dustin said with a wide smile which Clove rolled her eyes too.

"Hi?" Max said as more of a question.

"Where's Will?" Dustin added in, seeing as the smallest boy wasn't near.

"He'll be here." Mike confirmed.

"Are you just gonna stand there? Or are you gonna help?" Lucas asked the curly haired boy as Clove passed him a stick.

"Welcome to community service Mr.Henderson, I hope you stay on your best behavior." Clove said in a accent that made Mike slap his forehead and Lucas to shake his while Max gave a odd look.

"Not this again." Mike spoke up.

"Oh thank you Miss Reyes, I cant wait for your company." Dustin said back in the same voice.

"Am I missing something?" Max asked .

"Don't ask." Lucas and Mike said at the same time .

"We need to talk! Right now." Mike said a few hours later as he ran to the four who where sitting outside for school.

"Party members only." Mike said as he noticed Max coming along.

"Jesus Mike." Clove scolded him.

"This is non negotiable, let's go!" Mike demanded as he grabbed Clove's upper arm.

"I'm sorry, i'll explain soon." Clove shouted toward Max while Mike yanked her out of the redheads eye sight.

"Will didn't want me to tell anyone but on halloween night he saw a sort of shadow in the sky." Mike spoke to the three infront of him.

"A shadow? What kind of shadow?" Lucas asked while sharing a look with his female friend.

"Like the clouds?" Clove asked.

"No, I don't know but not the clouds. It scared him and if Will really has true sight, I mean if he can really see into the upside down, maybe he saw that shadow again yesterday." Mike said as Clove frowned her big eyebrows in confusion.

"So that's why he was frozen like that?" Dustin asked.

"Maybe." Mike shrugged .

"It can't hurt him though, right?" Clove added in.

"I mean, if the shadow thing isn't from our world..." Lucas trailed off.

"I'm not sure." Mike shook his head while looking between the two who once again shared a look.

"Well if you are in another plane then you can interact with other plane, so theoretical, no the shadow can't hurt him." Dustin said as Clove nodded.

"Yeah, if that's even what's happening, this isn't D&D, this is real life." Mike said as Clove nodded.

"Like last year, we need to think of all the possibilities." She added while Mike nodded.

"Exactly, we cram our knowledge and I'll go to Will's after school to see what's going on." Mike said as Clove nodded.

"Dustin, Lucas you two stay here and look for Dart." Mike said as he looked at the two.

"Dart? What's he got to do with this?" Dustin asked.

"He's from the upside down, I don't know how yet but he's gotta be connected to all this." Mike said as he looked to Clove.

"What am I gonna do?" she asked while Mike blinked.

"You need to take care of Max, keep her out of all of this as much as possible. She trust you more than she does us:" Mike said as Clove frowned.

"Mike I could go with you to Wi-" Clove began but was cut off.

"No! You need to stay here were it's safe." Mike said as Clove scoffed.

"Are you joking?" Clove asked him with a look of disbelief .

"No, i'm not. I'm serious Clove, i'll keep you updated." Mike said as the girl rolled her eyes and left the AV room.

Clove took a deep breath where she stood in front of Max's house, hesitating to knock on the door. With a shake of her head she gently pounded her knuckle on the wood and waited a few moments before if was pulled open by a taller boy. He stood much taller then Clove with a cigarette in his mouth, he was sweaty with longer hair then most, a smirk rested on his lips.

"Who are you?" he asked while Clove stumbled over her words.

"I-i'm Clove, is Max home?" She asked while avoiding eye contact.

"Hey Max! There's a small human out here for you!" The boy shouted over his shoulder while Clove flinched at his tone.

"I'm Billy." he introduced himself.

"Hi Billy" she said quietly, feeling uneasy around the boy.

"Clove, hey." Max said as she came to the door and slammed it behind her so Billy could leave her alone.

"Hi." Clove said as Max frowned her eyebrows in confusion.

"Is something wrong?" she asked while the brunette quickly shook her head.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to come over and watch a movie, i've got popcorn and left over candy from halloween." Clove said as Max smirked.

"Can I pick the movie?" Max asked while Clove let out a laugh.

"Um, yeah sure." she nodded while Max grabbed her skate board.

"Where's your bike?" she asked while Clove flushed in embarrassment .

"I walked here." she said while scolding herself.

"Oh, well hop on." Max said as Cloves eyes widened.

"On that thing?" she asked while eyeing the skateboard .

"Yeah, I won't let you fall off." Max laughed as Clove blinked.

"Oh, I don't think-" Clove began but was cut off.

"Clove, c'mon you'll love it okay? And hey, if you get scared, we'll walk the rest of the way." Max said as Clove sighed and stood on the back of Max's board.

"Hang on." she said while Clove quickly wrapped her arms around the redhead while Max took off, Clove squealed.

"You good back there?" Max laughed a few minutes down the road while Clove hid her face in Max's back.

"I'm good!" Clove muffled, causing the blue eyed girl to laugh.

"That was frightening yet kinda awesome at the same time." Clove laughed as her and Max entered the house.

"I told you." Max laughed while they walked into the kitchen.

"Hey Dad." Clove greeted her father who was at the table looking at a cross word puzzle.

"Hey Mr.Reyes." Max greeted.

"Hey girls, I was just about to start dinner." Levan smiled as Clove grinned at him.

"We were just gonna watch a movie, what are you making?" Clove asked while Max leaned on the counter.

"Ugh how does spaghetti sound?" Levan asked while grabbing the pots.

"Yeah that sounds good." Clove nodded.

"Max, what about you?" Levan asked .

"Oh, I wouldn't wanna be any trouble." Max shook her head.

"No, of course not. Spaghetti goes along way, you're staying." Levan said with a goofy grin while Clove and Max laughed.

"Okay thank you, spaghetti is great." Max said while Clove nodded and leaned into her some.

"We'll be down when it's ready." Clove said as she pulled the girl up the stairs with her.

"You're Dad is so sweet, you guys seem close." Max said as they entered the room.

"We are, he's just a big goof ball." Clove laughed while grabbing her box of movies as Max looked around

"Is this your Mom?" she asked as Clove walked over and looked down at the picture frame in her pale hands.

"Yeah, that was on her birthday last year." Clove smiled down at it.

"She was a redhead." Max said with a grin as Clove did too.

"Yeah, it's funny because both her parents were blonde so everyone always accused my Grandmother of cheating. But, it was my Mom's great grandpa who had red hair so that's were she got it from." Clove said as she looked down at the photo.

"You've got her smile." Max said as Clove shivered as she felt Max push some of Cloves hair behind her ear as she looked over at her.

"You have really pretty eyes, they kinda sparkle if you stare at them long enough." Max said as she stared at Clover's caramel orbs.

"You really think that?" Clove asked as she blinked, noticing how close they were while Max nodded as Clove flushed and smiled.

"Thank you." she whispered to her as the two simple stared at each other before the movies slipped off the bed, causing the two girls to scream and jump away from each other. Once they noticed it was the box of movie's on the floor, the two busted out into a fit of laughter.
