I know this account shows that I have joined in 2018. I had another before... But I forgot the password. Silly me! Anyway I discovered Wattpad 2015 and I've spent hours upon hours reading! I hope you like this chapter!*
Keeping in mind the discussion between Evan and I made it impossible for me to fall asleep. Fear and anticipation built up as I sat up from my bed. There was no point for me to stay in bed. So I stood up and got dressed. I never thought this place would be so silent. I guess everyone just went to bed early on a Monday night, considering it was 3 am.
The weight of the keys in my hands was getting heavier and heavier. I knew where the front door was, all I had to do was sneak in, get the important files and go. No one would even notice. Following the path I had memorised, I made my way to the famous door. Everything seemed surreal. Placing the correct key in the door with my shaking hands proved to be harder than In had originally anticipated. Nethertheless, I was able to slip into the room. I hastily grabbed the papers and the calendar and left without forgetting to close the door.
The running training I had done was put to good use as I sprinted throughout the building towards the entrance. I didn't know that guards would be positioned there and I mentally slapped myself. Of course there would be some type of security put in place, how else would they protect such a big organisation? This wasn't just a few random guards. There was at least fifty, patrolling near the entrance to the city so I did what anybody would've done in my situation. I stuffed the papers in a my empty water bottle and placed it in my bag.
'This doesn't seem to be the bathroom!' I said out loud catching the attention of multiple guards.
'Miss this isn't the right place' a guard said, she had a stern expression, 'If you don't mind, you will need to be checked.'
Without waiting for my consent she patted me down and searched my bag. Luckily she did not open my huge water bottle.
'Next time you should take a smaller bottle, drinking so much at this time is a really bad decision.'
She thought I was drunk!
So I nodded, and walked away adding extra steps in my walk to sell the act.
A road later I had stopped under an adjacent street light staring mindlessly at a map I had stolen from a friend's souvenir box. She had circled in every location she and her partner had gone out to diner. I was going to give it back to her later on.
'Looking for me?' A dark chilling voice asked. I turned around and was met by Vincent's disgusted stare.
'How did you find me?' I asked with uncertainty. His presence was not reassuring.
'You've got a tracker in you.' he replied without skipping a beat.
'You mean I'm being monitored?' I said with anger coursing through my veins.
'Did you really think we would let out an agent like you without monitoring? Aren't you supposed to be smart?'
'I don't know. You seem to know more about me than I do myself!' I exclaimed sarcastically. I guess Mad's sass was rubbing off on me after all.
'I don't know what goes on in that little head of yours though,' he got closer making shrivel in response. He was still wearing a ridiculously expensive suit with a briefcase. This time I was able to see a gun. He was armed, making me jump to conclusions. Why did he have a gun? But I remembered why I was here.
My mission.
'As a matter of fact, I came out to find you.' I said with a straight voice. He almost immediately leaned in. Taking this as a sign to continue I stood up a little straighter.
'Yes, after witnessing the attack on the plaza, I was determined to help put a stop to it. I gained the leader's trust, and he led me directly to the room where they make all their plans to attack against the Liberals. I have them here.' I went down into my bag a pulled out the water bottle.
As I unscrewed the cap I could feel Vincent's intense gaze on my hands. I handed him over the documents. He flipped them over for a while, checking its content. He finally looked up.
'I didn't give you much credit kiddo. This is good stuff, well done.' At that I released my breath I didn't know I was holding.
'I am going to go back before anyone realizes i'm gone, is there anyway for us to stay in contact, other than wandering aimlessly in the street in the hopes to finding you.'
Vincent just took out a phone. 'I'll call you when the Liberals have come up with a decision on how to proceed with this information.'
The old Vincent was back. He just glared at me and walked away.
Retracing my steps to the RG's opening I felt an arm rest on my shoulders. My instincts took over and I spun around swinging my fist towards the man that had frightened me but my punch had been stopped mid flight. Only then did I realize that the unknown man was actually Evan. He lean and whispered in my ear, 'Well done.' sending shivers down my spine.
I turned around to face him. 'Evan, we've got a problem.'
