Fears: The stuff that makes your characters wet their bed at night

Chickens, old lady's in cat costumes, jump ropes, falling from the Empire State Building, the cinnamon challenge, your character could be afraid of everything and anything.

Even half cyborg solders who have had fear erased from their hard drive have fears, I think.

Fears can really make your character, fears can motivate characters decisions, save them from peril, create conflict, make then weird, or brave, in other words, your characters NEED fears!

No one likes to read about  a hero who is absolutely fearless, unless its absolutely part of the story, but lets face it, say your reading this book about a beautiful lady knight who has no fear and dives into every battle brave and fearless, sure of her victory. Sounds good right?

No? Well it might be nice to read at fist, but in the end when she's still the same old same old it gets boring.

Fears can really ad depth to your character, fear is human, human is to fear, that being said it's not always easy to find out what your characters afraid of, I suggest looking back on their back-story, you may find something there. If you cant, then here are a few common fears to help you out.

Suggestions appreciated!
