At the swamp, Acronix was showing off one of the Time Blades to Cyrus Borg for the inventor to use in the apparatus.

"Here. For the apparatus." Acronix said, handing Cyrus the Time Blade.

"I-I-I'm not ready for that. You-You cannot rush good design." Cyrus stuttered as he objected.

"Says the man who released three updates to the BorgPad in one year. Stop stalling!" Krux shouts at the inventor. Making Cyrus shrink in his wheelchair.

"Or your time may run out." Supreme Commander Machia threatens as she stepped out of the shadows with (Y/N) in tow.

"Uh. Yes, ma'am." Cyrus gulped in fear causing the twins to laugh.

Cyrus just wanted to go home to Borg Tower and his adorable little assistant Min-droid. Even though Min-Droid was the shortest of all the Nindroids, he was surprisingly the most effective fighter among them. And that fact alone made Cyrus wished the little guy was here with him right now.

"Ah, you've returned." Acronix said, turning his attention to the pair that entered the room. "And with (Y/N) in tow. No trouble?" Krux asks the Vermillion Samurai.

"We encountered the Water Ninja but (Y/N)'s associates took care of her." Supreme Commander Machia dutifully answered.

"You wanted to speak to me?" (Y/N) says in an icy tone. If this wasn't important she was going to be very ticked off that they pulled her away from her investigating.

"Yes. We have an offer to make to you that we think you will be more than happy to take us up on." Krux says with a smirk. "Yes. Plus we would like for you to sing a few songs about our triumph!" Acronix practically shouted in excitement.

"Why must you always undercut important moments for me?" Krux whined at his little brother.

(Third Person P.O.V)

Lloyd, Jay, Zane and Cole continue their delightful journey in the sewers.

"Is it just me, or is this place getting spookier?" Jay comments to himself, glancing around. But regardless of the sudden ominous feeling, Jay presses onward. "Oh, maybe Nya and Kai got the scanners back online." Jay said trying to take his mind off the creepiness.

"Nah, we'd have heard from them by now." Lloyd said. A drop of faecal water hits Cole's shoulder pad, much to his annoyance. "Aw, I just had my suit cleaned." Cole loudly complained. They see something moving above them and run away from what turned out to be a spider.

"Um, you wouldn't happen to have a reconfigurable amphibious vehicle with you, would you?" Jay nervously asks the others.

"No." Lloyd shot back. "Actually, we might. Let me access those specs again. Reconfiguration three of the Destiny's Shadow is the Experimental Amphibious Multi-Terrain Assault Vehicle, XAMTAV." Zane stated.

"Ha! XAMTAV. Sounds like a laxative." Jay laughs. They see the Destiny's Shadow approaching them.

"I took the liberty of using the museum Wi-Fi to interface with the Destiny's Shadow and bring it here." Zane proudly stated. Lloyd flashed Zane a smile for his quick thinking. "Uh, beats walking." Lloyd said with a shrug and climbed in.

(Third Person P.O.V)

Supreme Commander Machia was watching over both (Y/N) and Cyrus Borg. (Y/N) practised a few cords. Finding the right lyrics was hard thanks to Krux's pickiness while his brother wanted something more modern. And Borg was working away making slow progress.

(Y/N) glances to the side, debating what she should say to the inventor. Just how much should she say?

"You're Cyrus Borg, correct?" (Y/N) asks the inventor. "Yep, that's me. I take it you don't remember me?" Cyrus asked it was obvious to what the inventor was talking about.

(Y/N) shock her head no. "I have been informed of you and our..." (Y/N) paused for a moment unable to think of the human word for it at the moment. "I believe the terms are... interaction and commission?" (Y/N) tried to explain.

"If you are talking about your guitar. Then yes, I am the inventor." Cyrus deduced what she was trying to both ask and say. "It was a challenge returning the musical aspect of this considering I am more proficient with a lute but I believe I have mastered your creation once more." (Y/N) stated with confidence.

"Ah, that is good to hear. It's nice to see my work isn't going to waste." Cyrus Borg said as he continued his reluctant work on the apparatus.

"So... Why are you helping them?" Cyrus asked out of curiosity. His eyebrows knitted together in the way they did when he was thinking hard or worried.

Supreme Commander Machia even took this moment to listen in more closely to what was being said.

(Y/N) hesitates for a few moments. "Well, if he wants to know." (Y/N) thought to herself. "Originally we agreed to stay out of each other's way." She admits. "But then they've called me here to further my search for Eris' killer."

"Eris' killer." Cyrus notes. (Y/N) nods. Cyrus gives a small smile. "Only then will you find your peace?" Cyrus asked.

There was a pause between them. (Y/N) not entirely sure what to say to that.

"No, I have a few more on that list before I personally find some form of peace." (Y/N) stated as she made her way out of the room she bumps into something and finds herself face-to-face with Acronix.

Without a change in expression, she replies. "Word of advice. You can't control humans with fear. It'll work for a while, but eventually he's going to snap." (Y/N) warned, sounding almost nonchalant about it.

"And what makes you say that?" Acronix asked, his voice is firm and commanding.

"Personal experience." (Y/N) calmly stated. "That and from what Dareth has told me. Someone called the Overlord tried the same thing with Borg. It didn't work out so well for him."

"Now if you don't mind. I'll get back to work writing your songs for you." (Y/N) said, leaving.

Acronix watched as she left for a more private area. Acronix was astonished that within moments, she could go from agitated to bored. Flickering between anything from anger to apathy in just moments.

It was actually kind of scary... He liked that very much.

(Third Person P.O.V)

In the sewer, the Destiny's Shadow moves along as they try to find the Hands of Time's base.

"Argh! Does anyone have any idea where we are going?" Jay loudly complained.

"Not really." Lloyd admitted. "I am trying to track our progress, but these tunnels are confusing." Zane said before he notices something on the collision avoidance system.

"What is it with villains and their total lack of signage?" Cole complained. "Zane, any chance the Destiny's Shadow has a temporal scanner?" Lloyd said.

"Unfortunately not. But it does have a collision-avoidance system that indicates multiple targets ahead." Zane reported.

"It's an ambush!" Cole said. "Haha! Finally, some payback." Jay said and the pair attacked the supposed ambushers.

"Lights, lights, lights!" Lloyd said. Lloyd turns on the lights, revealing them to be Skales and Skales Jr.

"Wait! Jay, Cole, let them go! That's Skales." Lloyd said. Skales Jr hisses at them. "And my son, Skales Jr." Skales said just as Skales Jr shoved Cole.

"Miss (Y/N) will not be pleased." Zane commented.

"What are you two doing down here?" Lloyd questioned the pair. "Don't you know, Lloyd? They're sewage experts." Jay said in a sarcastic tone.

"I meant what are you doing down here, now?" Lloyd said with an annoyed huff.

"Tracking the Vermillion Warriors along with these Constrictai." Skales answered truthfully and nodded his head towards some Constrictai that had come running at the sounds of fighting.

"Why? Looking to join them?" Cole accused the pair. The accusation didn't quite hit it's mark. "No. To avoid them." Skales Jr said shoving the Master of Earth again. "Son, no. They don't understand." Skales said, stopping his son from attacking the Elemental Master.

"We don't understand what?" Lloyd questioned. "You don't know what you're dealing with, do you? The Vermillion Warriors are the pure first generation progeny of the Great Devourer." Skales calmly stated.

"I have never heard of them." Zane said. "Because we do not speak of them. They have the same singular drive as the Great Devourer to consume everything in their path." Skales informed the nindroid.

"We fought them. They aren't so tough." Jay bragged. Skales rolled his eyes at that comment but continued speaking.

"In small numbers, no." Skales countered. "But if Krux and Acronix are able to raise and equip enough of them, they will be an unstoppable horde. A swarm of Vermillion that no one can stop."

"We did see breeding tanks in Krux's lab..." Zane said thinking back to what they had discovered earlier.

"That's sufficient to start the growth process for a few warriors, but creating a large army requires a very specific environment. A swamp. They are using a swamp." Skales informed them.

"Can you tell us where it is?" Lloyd asked.

"I can." Skales replied.

"Can you take us there?" Lloyd asked again.

"I cannot." Skales declines. "I have a family to protect." Skales said patting his son on the top of the head.

"But I can give you a map. The Constrictai are reconnaissance experts. I must warn you, there's more going on there than just raising eggs. They're readying them for war. They have your Master with them." Skales said, giving Zane a map.

"We know. Thank you, Skales." Lloyd said, thanking the Serpentine for all his help.

"Uh, sorry if I jumped to conclusions." Cole apologised. Skales Jr hisses again as a ugly scowl crossed his face.

"Haha. I kind of like that kid." Jay said with a laugh. "Don't call me kid either!" Skales Jr hisses at the Master of Lightning.

"Hahaha! Now I know I like him." Jay laughed as he and Cole climbed back into their ship.

"Good luck, Ninja!" Skales said, waving the ninja off as they drive away. "Heh. They're going to need it." Skales said to his son under his breath. Skales is surprised when his son doesn't automatically start laughing at the comment.

"Skales Jr?" Skales asks looking back at his young son who is staring into a puddle directly into his own reflection and accidentally hypnotising himself.

"Oh. Not again." Skales sighed in disappointment. "Come on. Let's get you to the hospital." Skales sighed again as began to help direct his poor hypnotised son.

(Third Person P.O.V)

(Y/N) rubbed her right forearm right where the symbols were glowing an angry green. "Yeah, yeah." (Y/N) hissed at the mark. "I'm doing it." (Y/N) growled at the mark.

"What's that about?" Supreme Commander Machia asked with a suspicious tone in her voice. (Y/N) didn't even turn around to face her. Just smirked and held her arm up for the commander to see.

"You're not the only ones with bosses." (Y/N) said and lowered her arm. "Mine just have a tighter leash."

"That looks painful." Supreme Commander Machia commented as she slithered closer to (Y/N). "It feels as though your very nerves are being set on fire." (Y/N) explained, answering the unasked question.

"Do you need my assistance?" (Y/N) asked as Supreme Commander Machia slithered in front of her.

"Just curious." Supreme Commander Machia stated but didn't leave. She noted the stacks of books and papers (Y/N) had spread out earlier. Supreme Commander Machia noticed (Y/N) eyeing her carefully.

"Do you have something to say?" (Y/N) asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"These notes scribbled on the sides are in Serpentine." Supreme Commander Machia noted in suspicion. "Yes, they're mine." (Y/N) calmly stated. She had nothing to hide from the vermillion warrior.

Supreme Commander Machia paused at that piece of information. "You speak and read Serpentine." Supreme Commander Machia questioned in disbelief.

"Ah." (Y/N) said finally understanding what Supreme Commander Machia was truly looking for. "My creator was the daughter of Eris, the daughter of Arcturus." (Y/N) explained.

"Arcturus? As in the Great General Arcturus of the Anacondrai Warriors. Who fought with every ounce of venom?" Supreme Commander Machia further questioned.

(Y/N) nodded. "Yes, the one in the same." She truthfully answered. "So you are here to avenge your tribe?" Machia continued to question. "Not just them." (Y/N) answered rubbing at the angry mark as she did. "My masters are mostly monsters from a realm called Knighton."

"Hela the one who created me was his granddaughter. She did horrible inexcusable things in hopes of seeking her vengeance on the one who killed her mother and started the war."

"I also seek this one at the behest of my masters who demand retribution one the one that created the evil in Hela that she, in turn, rained upon Knighton."

Supreme Commander Machia looked deeply into (Y/N)'s glowing eyes. "And you think Krux and Acronix can give you what to seek?" Machia demanded. After a tense moment, (Y/N) spoke.

"If what the brother's claims are true. Then yes." (Y/N) answered. "I will speak to the only witness to the crime."

"So that's your plan?" Machia snorted disbelief. "To talk to the one that killed your tribe?"

"No, I said I'd speak to the only witness to the crime." (Y/N) reiterated. Machia stared at her in obvious confusion.

"There were four people there that day, not three." (Y/N) explained. She began to list them off. "There was Eris, Hela, the killer and a witness."

"And who do you think this witness is?" Machia questioned.

"Why, the only Elemental Master that tried to atone for what had been done." (Y/N) calmly answered and pointed to the still-open folder to her left. One with photo's of the Elemental Masters from forty years ago.

(Y/N) smirked as Machia tried to process what she'd just said. She had so much more she wanted to add, but that could wait.

(Third Person P.O.V)

The Destiny's Shadow continued to move along the sewers with the Ninjas aboard the vessel trying to find the Hands of Time's base.

"Aaargh! It's impossible! I can't read snake language!" Cole complained, holding up the map. "You mean Serpentine." Zane corrected the Master of Earth. "What's the difference? It doesn't make sense." Cole continued to complain. "These sewers are like a maze." Jay loudly complained.

"Let me try. Maybe I can scan it." Zane offered. Cole hands over the map to Zane who promptly scans it.

"Ah, I have the correct directions." Zane announced. Lloyd allowed Zane to take the controls.

Soon they pulled up to a large open outgoing pipe that led to the Swamplands. Zane pulled the Destiny's Shadow to a stop and they all quickly climbed out.

Jay noticed that the trees seem to spike up from the ground, leafless and twisted. The air is coated in a light mist, and Jay shudders from a sudden chill.

Looking around, he notices what looks like a man-made structure. Cautiously, he makes his way towards it.

"That's a lot of eggs." Cole said as Jay stops right beside him to stare in horror at the egg-filled swamp. "And a lot of armours. Er. Ers?" Jay said, trying to think of the correct plural.

"Wu's gotta be down there somewhere." Lloyd said. "And Cyrus Borg." Zane added.

"One thing's for sure. We're gonna need the whole team." Lloyd said as he calls Nya.

Nya was still at the noodle house when she got the call from Lloyd. Nya quickly answers it and gets her brother's attention as she did. "It's Lloyd."

"Lloyd? Sorry, we couldn't get the scanners working but... You found it? Where? We'll be there right away. Just be careful they have (Y/N)." Nya said, hanging up.

"What is it?" Kai asked. "They've found Acronix and Krux's base." Nya informed her brother.

"Let's roll." Kai said. "Guys, if you need any he-" Skylor said but was cut off. "To-go bags? Heh. No thanks. Finding out about my parents killed my appetite." Nya said as they left.

"Oh. I guess quality noodles is all I'm good for." Skylor said and tried some with a heavy sigh.

"Nya, something just occurred to me." Kai said as they got on their bike. "What?" Nya asked. "If the guys found Krux and Acronix..." Kai said. "Then they found our father!" Nya said, finishing the sentence for Kai.

(Third Person P.O.V)

"I said I was sorry." Dareth pouted as he and Ronin left the hospital.

"You broke my leg!" Ronin growled at the brown ninja as he wheels himself out the front door of the hospital in his newly acquired wheelchair. "I said I was sorry." Dareth reiterated to the former thief.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, Dareth." Ronin grumpily hissed. At that moment the sewer lid in front of the hospital popped up and Skales slithered out while carrying his hypnotised son.

"Skales, Skales Jr? What are you doing here?" Ronin questioned the pair. Skales smiled at the unlucky duo. "Ah, Dareth, Ronin." Skales greeted the pair. "My son has unfortunately hypnotised himself." Skales chuckled. "And what misfortune brought the both of you here?"

"Trying to get Dareth's trophies back from these snake guys who stole them. Only for Dareth to break my leg." Ronin growled the last part at the brown ninja.

"I said I was sorry." Dareth whinnied at Ronin. "It was an accident. I didn't mean to kick you." Dareth pleaded.

"If you are referring to the vermillion warriors then this must be your lucky day." Skales stated and pulled out a copy of the map he'd given the ninja. "My people have been staking out the vermillion warriors and have tracked them to a secret headquarters in the Swamplands." Skales explained and handed over the spare map to the duo.

"Well, we better get inside and get Skales Jr treated. Take care strange ones." Skales said escorting his son inside.

After waving goodbye to the pair Ronin quickly examined the map. After a moment Ronin spoke. "Hey! I recognise this swamp... It should be fairly easy to get there."

Dareth quickly signalled for a taxi which promptly pulled up to the corner for them and as soon as they were packed up the duo set off for the Swamplands.
