Xerina got off of Swanna and waved goodbye as it flew back to its trainer. She took a deep breath and looked at the lab. "We're here Fang." She exhaled as Fang popped out of her bag. Xerina stepped towards the doors when all of a sudden they Burst open and a hyperactive boy ran into her; knocking her over.

"Ow..." she rubbed her head sitting up. She looked around worried. "Where's Fang?"

"Are you looking for this?" The boy walked over to her with Fang (with anime swirled eyes) in his hands.

Xerina quickly got up and took Fang from the boy. "Yes. She's my Pikachu"

The boy tilted his head as he looked at her. "What no thank you?"

"You ran into me! Remember?" Xerina sounded a bit annoyed.

"You're not from here are you?" He looked at her up and down. She was about to respond when a woman's voice called out.

"Kyle! Are you scaring the new trainers again?" The woman came from behind him.

"N- No mother! This is... uh..." he turns to Xerina. "I don't believe I caught your name."

Xerina looked at the two. "I'm Xerina."

"You must be a new trainer here to get your Pokémon. Am I right?" The woman smiled at Xerina.

Xerina nodded passively.

"Oh where are my manners. My name is Aurea Juniper. I am the Pokemon professor of the Unova region. And this is my son Kyle Juniper." She laid a hand onto Kyle's shoulder. "Why don't you come inside and I'll see what I can do." The professor leads the two into the lab.

Minutes passed. By the time Xerina left the lab with a new Pokemon, five pokeball said and a pokedex; it was quarter after six. Almost dinner time. What was she going to do? She had told Volkner that she would be back by now. She bit her lip. She realized she was going to be longer than she thought.
"Hey Xerina!" Kyle ran up to her with his Snivy on his shoulder.
Xerina turned to face him. But as he got close to her, her stomach let out a growl causing her face to turn red.
"Are you hungry?" He smirked.

"Maybe..." she shrugged.

"Do you want to come over for dinner and then can we travel together?"

Xerina hesitated for a moment. But smiled. "Sure. That would be fun!"
Kyle smiled and led her to his house. His house wasn't far from the lab. Xerina noticed that there was another house next door to Kyle's house.

"Who lives there?" She asked Kyle as they entered the house.

He replied with a shallow "no one" and closed the door behind them.

"Okay..."

Kyle dumped his bag in the front area and kicked off his shoes. He then made his way to the couch and flipped on the T.V.
"What would you like to watch?" He called out to Xerina.

Xerina slowly took her shoes off and put her bag down gently. She walked over to him and sat down next to him. She shrugged.
"I dunno. What's on the battle channel?"

"Hmm... lets see" he pushed a few buttons and a picture of Alder the Unova region champion vs a boy appeared on the screen.

"Is that Alder?" Xerina asked as Fang sat down onto her lap.

"Yup!" Kyle smiled. "I'm gonna beat him and become the next champion!"

"Are you sure?"

"I'm positive! Nothing will stop me!"

"Okay" she smiled as professor Juniper called the two for dinner.

Kyle rushed to the dinner table and plopped down and waited anxiously until he could dig in. Xerina got up and sat down across from Kyle at the table and smiled.

"You may now eat." Professor Juniper smiles and begins to eat. Kyle begins shoving every bit of food on his plate into his mouth. Xerina slowly eats the food as she looks at the two.
They eat so differently she thought as she continued to eat.

Professor Juniper smiled. "Do you like it Xerina?"

Xerina nodded. "It's very good." She begins to get a bit emotional. "It reminds me of my mother's cooking..."

"Are you okay Xerina?" Professor Juniper looked at her concerned.

Xerina faked a smile. "Yeah. I'm just feeling a little homesick"

"Why don't you stay here for the night and then start your journey." Professor Juniper gave her a reassuring smile.

Xerina smiled back. "Okay. Thank you."

After the three had finished dinner, while professor Juniper cleaned the dishes; Kyle helped Xerina set up a cot in his room.
"This is going to be fun." Kyle smiled laying down a blanket onto the cot.

"Yeah" Xerina placed a pillow on top.

"You wanna watch a movie since we're done?" Kyle looks at Xerina.

"Sure." She smiles.

The two head down stairs and hop onto the couch as a movie starts to play.

Juniper smiles as she watches the two slowly fall asleep together. Once the two were completely asleep, she carried one by one up to Kyle's room and laid them on their respective sleeping area.
"Sleep well you two." She smiles and turns out the lights, going to sleep herself.
