Brighten up your day with a glass of milk and a box of Oreo as we celebrate National Oreo Cookie Day! The Oreo sandwich cookie is made up of two chocolate disks containing a sweet cream filling. Since its introduction, the Oreo cookie has become the best-selling cookie in the United States.

It was first developed in 1912 by the National Biscuit Company known as Nabisco today. Over the years, Nabisco has come up with over 80 flavors, several varieties, and shapes to the classic Oreo cookie. They also introduced a few limited-edition flavors that were usually aligned to a certain holiday. In recent years, Oreo has hosted contests to its consumers to guess the mystery flavored ones.
