Cat's POV

I wake up to a loud explosion and it's still late at night. I look out the half smashed window and hear gunfire and explosions from Arkham island which is only a few blocks away.

I see Robin run across the rooftops towards Arkham and I know if he is going batman will be going and that means someone like the joker has busted out and his goons want me as dead as dead gets ,Dead.

I run the opposite way and go as far as I can go until I accidentally run onto a street where a gang of 5 is walking and I'm only a few meters from them so I can't run away. "Well what do we have here" one says and I eye up the guns in their hands.

"Looks like a young teen girl" two says unzipping his trousers and I'm aware I'm in a dead end. I'm trapped, I have to fight them.

"Leave me alone." I say unafraid and they all laugh.

"Aww she wants us to leave her alone" three says and I walk back into a wall, yeah it's a dead end. The wall behind me is too tall to jump over.

"Alright men, let's have some fun" one says and he touches my face.

I kick him in the head immediately knocking him out then I take his gun off him and shoot all the lights making it pitch black for a temporary time but I can see well in the dark so I'm good.

"Shoot everywhere" four says and I hide behind a dumpster and gunfire goes off and when the lights go back on number two,three and four are dead.one is still knocked out leaving me with five who has a gun to my head.

"Your going to die for this you little-" bang! Five is shot in the head and I look around scared I'll be shot then someone jumps down from the roof and lands softly and walks into the moonlight and I nearly get a heart attack. It's catwoman. Holy freaking shit she's going to kill me. I can't kill her. I can't fight her either.

"I'm not going to kill you" she says as if she's reading my mind,or maybe just my facial expression.

"W..why did you save me?" I ask and she walks right up to me then her sharp claws go to my neck and I close my eyes scared she'll slit my throat then I hear a crunch and open my eyes. I had some sort of device on me.

"Batman and robin were tracking you..." She trails off then looks at me, "why?" She asks and I get a moment of realisation. When Robin touched my shoulder he put on a tracking device.  Ugh I'm so stupid!

"I don't know why I was being tracked, I didn't even know I was being tracked at all" I say and she starts to walk circles around me.

"If you were being tracked you must be somehow important" she starts then looks at my outfit, "your a runaway right?" She asks and shake my head

"No I was kicked out on the streets when I was 7" I say and she smiles.

"So that means your an orphan?" She asks and I nod without a word. "That's good" she says obviously thinking about herself. She then looks at all four men around me dead. Number one probably died too, I think someone must have kicked him when the lights were out by accident.

"What's good about that?" I ask and she ignores me then looks at me a second later

"Do you know of any fighting styles?" She asks and I nod

"7 now what do you want?" I ask wanting her to get to the point on why I'm not like the gang around us, dead. She stops mumbling to herself then looks at me and sighs

"I want a sidekick" she says and my eyes widen. "You're an orphan, live on the streets and know martial arts, you're perfect" she says and I shake my head and walk backwards into the wall again.

"You're nuts, I'm 14, I can't become some villain's sidekick" I say and she walks up to me and looks me in the eyes

"Why not? Robin is 14 and I'm not all that bad by the way, sometimes I can be very good." she says with a tilted head and she looks at my appearance. "If you work for me I'll give you food,shelter and clothing. Don't forget about money too" she says and I look down away from her eyes.

All I've wanted is to have shelter and food and clothing,I can't remember the last time I did have that, but do I really want to work for her? She just escaped from Arkham so she is insane but she also said money so once I save enough up I could get out of here for good and maybe live a normal life.

I look at catwoman then shake her hand, "deal, I'll be your sidekick" I agree and she smiles

"Purrfect"
