Arabella's POV

My dad and I were sitting on the couch together. He waas reading a book, which is weird because he dislikes reading, and I was just playing on my 3DS. Charlotte was gonna come over today, but she's sick and couldn't leave her house.

"Hey, Ray, Bella." Schwoz greeted us and we turned to him. He had a yellow flower in his hands and sets it on the back of the couch. "Sniff this flower."

"All right." We agreed and leaned over to sniff it.

"Mmm." I smile and my dad smiled too. "Smells nice."

"What is that, a daffodil?"

Suddenly, the flower exploded in our faces and got smoke and ash all over our faces. We stood up with surprise and Schwoz was laughing.

"Dang daggit, Schwoz!" My dad snarled.

"My new shirt!" I complain and glare Schwoz. "You're buying me a new one."

"You got problems!" My dad snapped at laughing prankster. We sit down and I brush the ashes out of my hair and off my face. Schwoz was still laughing and my dad looks at him.

"You're a sick person."

I heard ringing and I saw Henry calling on the hologram communicator.

"That's Henry." I say and stand up. "He wants to hologram chat."

"I'll take it." My dad gets up and answers the call. "Hey, Henry, what's up?"

"Bad news, I can't come to work for the next two weeks." Henry informed us.

"Okay." My dad nodded.

"I'm really sorry, but I got grounded and my parents are only letting me go to school. That's it." Henry explained.

"I volunteer to fill in as your sidekick!" Schwoz suggested with excitement.

"No." My dad denied.

"Come on! We could be Captain Man and Schwozzam!" Schwoz pleaded.

"Gross." My dad cringes and Schwoz complains.

"Doh!"

My dad rubs his head and returns to Henry. "I'm sorry, kid, what were we talking about?"

"I was telling you that I'm grounded so I can't be your sidekick for two whole weeks." Henry explained to him.

"Oh, yeah. Bummer. I had an important job for you today." My dad shrugged.

"What?" Henry asked with a smile.

"There's this new barbecue place downtown." My dad answered. "I was going to get you to pick me up a slab of ribs."

"I'll order some ribs and have them delivered." I offered for my dad.

"Cool." My dad said. "Later, Henry."

"But... who's going to help you fight crime while I'm grounded?" Henry objected.

"I can handle things." My dad assured him

I was ordering the ribs and looked at my dad. "You want beef ribs or pork?"

"Pork. Henry. I gotta go." My dad told him.

"But..."

"Bye, Henry!" I wave at him and my dad ends the call.

A few days had passed and I had been doing a lot of work for my dad. Since Henry is not around, I've been searching criminals online, going through my dad's emails, and I even get to patrol the city with my dad more often.

I felt bad that Henry was grounded, so I went to Yotally Togurt and bought him some yogurt. I stopped by his house and knocked on his window and he screamed when he heard me.

He saw me and rushes over to window. He opened it and I crawled in.

"Hola." I greeted.

"Hey, what's up?" He greeted and walked down the steps.

"Well. Since you're grounded, I thought I'd bring you a little surprise." I smile and hand him the yogurt.

"From Yotally Togurt?" He asked me with surprise.

"One and only." I remarked and sat on the steps behind me.

He took out the yogurt and smiled. "Oh, yeah! Fudge blast! How'd you know that's my favorite?"

"Well, it's my favorite and Charlotte told me." I smile at him.

"Thanks, Bella." He says and sits down to enjoy the yogurt.

"Anytime." I wink.

"So, what's been going on at work or your place?" He asked me and I shrugged.

"Oh, just some usual stuff I do. Going through my dad's emails, researching criminals online, dealing with Schwoz and his dumb pranks." I explained and glared at that last part.

"What kind of pranks?" He asked and I scoffed.

"You don't wanna know." I remark and Henry looks down at his yogurt. "Oh, and I got to go on patrol with my dad."

Henry sat up with his spoon in his mouth. "You went where?"

"On patrol. You know how sometimes my dad just cruises around in the Man-copter making sure the city's okay." I explained to him. "I used to fly in that thing all the time when I was little, until I attempted to jump out and almost kill myself."

"You went up with Ray in the Man-copter?" Henry asked with disbelief and I nodded.

"Yeah."

"That's my job!"

"I know, but-"

"I'm Kid Danger!"

"I realize that." I replied and Henry shook his head.

"Wow."

"What?" I asked.

"Wow!" He repeated sitting down.

"What?" I repeated.

"I just never thought you'd try to steal my job." Henry wondered aloud. "Makes sense, because you're Captain Man's child."

"Excuse me, chicken wings!" I defend myself and Henry gawked at me.

"Chicken wings?! I'll have you know-"

"Shut up!" I exclaim and Henry became silent. "My dad asked me to go on patrol. He actually asks me to go quite often, like when you're at school. And come on, you really think I'd try to replace you as Kid Danger?"

"Nah, you're right." Henry agreed.

"Thank you." I sigh and sit down again.

"I could never be replaced by a girl." Henry joked and this struck a nerve.

"What did you just say to me, Hart?" I asked him, standing up with my fists clenched.

He saw me and shrugged. "What?

"A girl?" I repeat and he chuckled.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I meant young woman." Henry corrected.

"Same thing!" I snap angrily.

"What's wrong?! I was just saying that-"

I snatch his yogurt from him, cutting him off.

"Say goodbye to your fudge blast!" I tossed it out the window, ignoring Henry's protests.

"No, no, no!" Henry groaned and I glare at him.

"Bye!" I snap and climb up the stairs.

"Wait, don't leave!" Henry called and I turned to him.

"I wasn't trying to steal your job before, but maybe now I will." I bitterly tell him. "Captain Man's daughter will now be Captain Man's sidekick."

I crawl out the window and Henry tries to follow me.

"Aw, Bella!"

I quickly crawled down the tree and ran off, feeling tears form in my eyes. I hate it when guys say girls can't fight, especially to me. I'm not the hopeless and weak little girl I was before. I'm independent and strong.

I returned home and went down the awful elevator that makes my stomach flip over a thousand times. I walked out of the elevator and shook my head.

"Nobody say anything to upset me or else I'll break you!" I threaten with gritted teeth and see my dad pouring himself a piece of gum.

"I don't have time to upset you." My dad say and pops the gum into his mouth. "Nor, do I want to. You're violent."

"Uh-0h." I say. "What's wrong?"

"There's an illegal pig farm on the south side of town." Schwoz informed me.

"Illegal?" I asked.

"Yep." My dad say. "There's a very bad pig farmer out there, and I'm going to make sure he goes wee wee wee all the way to jail."

"I'll go with you." I offered.

"No, Bella, this is not just a routine patrol, this is a real crime situation and it could dangerous." My dad reasoned with me.

"I get it." I tell him. "Let me fill in as your sidekick! I've helped you fight crime before, remember when I beat the Toddler's butt with his own diaper when I was ten?"

"That was a great day." My dad says, reminiscing the good times.

"It was." I smile.

"But, you can't be my sidekick. You're-"

"I'm a what!" I snap and ready my fist to punch, but my dad leans back correcting his statement.

"You're...coming with me!"

"Good." I say and look at Schwoz. "Schwoz, toss me Henry's backup gumball tube."

"Oh, I don't know." Schwoz shrugged, folding his arms. "Maybe I'm not qualified to give gum to people!"

I glanced at my dad and he seemed irritated with Schwoz. He saw my angry face and stepped up to Schwoz.

"Give her the gum!"

Schwoz groaned and grabbed the gum, handing it to my dad, who hands it to me. I opened it and popped a piece in my mouth.

"Bubble time!"

We both blew a bubble and it popped transforming us into Captain Man and Kid Danger. The suit fit perfectly and my hair was curled and pulled back into two pigtails.

I smile at my dad who was taking in my appearance.

"Huh?"

"Let's go." I say and run over to the tubes.

"Wait for me!" My dad follows and stood next to me. We tapped our belts and tubes encased us.

"Up the tube!"

We got shot up into the tubes.

Being my dad's sidekick is not as amazing as it seemed. Henry makes it look easy, and it's not because I'm a girl. I actually handled all the pigs and the farmer pretty well. I jumped on the big pig and started riding it around after the farmer. Then, I tackled the farmer right in the middle of the of the pig pen.

My dad returned before me and there was a reason for that. He didn't want to be trapped with a girl covered in mud and pig slop, which is what I was covered in.

I got shot down the tube and the boys cringed at my appearance. Henry was there too.

"And that's why we needed the tarp." My dad mentioned.

Henry takes a a tissue and offered it to me. "Here's a tissue." He attempted to rub some mud off, but it wasn't doing anything.

"That's not helping!" I snap at him and he jumps back.

"Oh, why are you so mad?" Schwoz asked.

"It's just a little pig slob."

My and Schwoz both laugh at me and I glare at them, making them stop.

"I'm not mad about the pig slob." I admit. "I'm bad because a friend of mine called me a job stealer, and he said I couldn't be a sidekick because I'm girl!"

"I changed it to young woman."

"Same thing!" I snap and Henry becomes quiet.

"Bella was not trying to steal your job." My dad chimes in.

"I was." Schwoz admits.

"He was." My dad nodded

"Well, I guess, since you rode a large pig and tackled a farmer." Henry sighs. "I guess you can do my job."

"Thank you." I smile warmly. "But I don't want your job.

"You don't?" Henry asked.

"No." I shake my head and sigh. "I just wanted to prove to you guys that I can fight. I'm not the helpless and weak little girl I was before. I'm strong now, and can handle myself. Fighting criminals is fun, but not if it means I get to take your job."

"I'll do it!" Schwoz offered.

"Schwoz!" Henry snapped and Schwoz looked down in shame.

"Am I going to have to turn you over my knee?" My dad warned him and he got scared.

"No! No spanky!" Schwoz cried, hiding his rear end.

"So, forgive me?" Henry asked with a cute grin and I grinned back.

"I will..." I trail off. "After we hug."

"No, no, no, no!" Henry cringed and I wrapped my arms around his body and made sure to rub my hands all over his back, getting the mud everywhere. He groaned and I smiled.

"That's my baby." I giggle. "That's nice."

I pull away and Henry was disgusted by the mud and slop on his body.

"I'll be in my shower." I tell them and wander upstairs to my room to get cleaned. I paused and turned to Henry.

"Oh, and Henry?" He turns to me. "You're an amazing Kid Danger."

He shows me a smile despite all the mud, and I turn away, before disappearing upstairs.

I'm never gonna try to be my dad's sidekick again.

I'm sorry for the lack of Charlotte, I just just wanted Bella to be Kid Danger and also go into Henry's dream in the previous chapter.
