Note
THE CHARACTERS/SCENES IN THIS BOOK WERE ONLY BASED LOOSELY ON REAL-LIFE WOLVES AND WOLF PACKS!!
Roles (may vary from pack to pack):
Alpha females and males are equal in power, but one can tend to be more influential than the other. They generally handle inter-pack activities and provide a solid base for decision making.
Betas act as the "second in command" or the "deputy," guiding the training of pups and overseeing general intra-pack activities.
Warriors are mainly the more muscular, stronger wolves in the pack that do not fear going into battle. They are expected to be brave and extremely loyal to their pack. They will participate in pack hunts if one or more hunters are unable to do so, but they are mainly in charge of maintaining borders and defending pack territory. They will spend most of the day patrolling territory and driving away intruders as well as reporting suspicious activity.
Hunters tend to be the quicker, smarter wolves in the pack. They will fight to defend their pack, but only as a way to quickly overwhelm the enemy in quick dash and retreat attacks. They will usually not fight on the front line, and instead lay back in the shadows. Some hunters will even be used as spies every once in a while, as stealth is key to a hunt. They will spend most of the day seeking out large game to feed the pack.
Pups will either be in training as a hunter or warrior, or too young to take part in pack activities. Pups who are in training will learn mainly from a talented wolf as well as the Beta.
Omegas are the lowest of the low. They may be used as bait for other wolf packs or other dangers in order to lure them out of territory. They eat last in the pack, and are usually charged with watching over pups instead of hunting or fighting. Omegas are usually scapegoats for the pack's troubles, and they are usually bullied by the other members.
