Partners in Grime (Unger and Doc U.B. Well)
CS related his tale to Unger and the doc
About the reactions to that old sombrero
The two men smiled, sippin' their drinks
Thinkin' CS must be some kind of weirdo
Doc picked up the hat and tried it on
In an instant he was at work in his surgery
The body on the table was pleading for help
But what doc was doing was blasphemy
He stabbed and he cut, hollering 'Next!'
As patients were replaced one by one
By the end of the day his office was full
With a mound of dead skin and bone
'Great buffalo, Doc, you feelin' all right?'
He felt Unger shake him as he tore off the hat
Doc stood shakin' eyes wide with fear
'I ain't never seen nothin' like that.'
CS, said, 'I told you. It's that Mexican lid.'
Nonsense, said Unger, putting it on
In a flash his world disappeared
Everything he thought he knew vanished - gone
Up on Boot Hill the earth was trembling
Grave markers all falling down
Corpses were climbing out of their coffins
An army of zombies heading for town
He recognized the faces of men he'd buried
Unger was alone, with no help in sight
They had him surrounded with hammers and nails
The coffin they built gave him a fright
'Now who's the doubter?' CS took the hat
Unger was ashen, his mind on the brink
'Here, you two, drink this.'
'Not enough! Give us the bottle to drink!'
