"What have you been thinking about nowadays?" Her mother enquired as she sat beside her at the dining table.

It was lunch time and none of the males were present in the house which left her and her mother to have their lunch alone.

"Nothing. Why would you ask?" She plopped a piece of chicken in her mouth turning to her now suspicious mother.

"You have been awfully quiet since yesterday evening" Her mother added.

"Nothing mom, just some workload. You know the new project and all." She answered, lest her mother was convinced.

They resumed their lunch when her phone rang and she smiled looking at the name flashing on her screen.

"Assalamu alaikum" Came an enthusiastic voice of Ahira, making her chuckle.

"Wa alaikum salam. May I know what's getting this much worked up." She asked, amused.

"Rinoz got an alliance earlier this week and today we, as in Azlaan, I and Rinoz met the boy Ibrahim and Rinoz freaking said Yes!" Ayesha could imagine her friend literally jumping in the middle of the street as she heard Azlaan from behind asking her to calm down.

"That's one of a news." She smiled.

"I know right. Ahaan bhai has invited us all for dinner tonight and we are yet to inform him about this. Why don't you join us for dinner? It's been a while since we met" She informed Ayesha, making her smile sadly.

"Nah, I am not coming. You all enjoy" She said and bidding bye, she disconnected the call saying that she was having her lunch.

"What was it about?" Her mother eyed her.

"Rinoz got an alliance and she said yes." Ayesha informed her mother lazily eating away her food.

"Everyone is getting married and here you are declining every other alliance that comes your way. It's high time you consider something Ayesha. You are well settled now, what else do you want" She rolled her eyes at her mother's words.

It was the same every time she heard someone was getting married, not even a slight change of dialogue.

"I have a headache" And as usual she ignored this like a plague.

Lest her mother knows that her daughter is already married to the most adorable and loving boy of the world, according to her mother.

Ayesha sighed, lying down on her bed. Her mind going haywire at the thought of Rinoz being married and why was Ahaan asking for a divorce. Well, it was nothing new as this is what they have decided earlier but her heart wasn't adjusting to the fact of divorcing Ahaan though her mind said otherwise.

With a battle going between her mind and heart, Ayesha drowned into a dreamless sleep sighing to herself.

Frustration like no other engulfed his senses as he drove like a madman to the grave yard. It is rightly said that home is where our loved one is.

Even though he has everything to call home, to him it is just a building. To him, home is where his sister was, where his parents were.

He knelt down beside his mother's grave and kept his head on the stone that had his mother's name carved on it.

He cried silently wanting to hide himself in the warmth of his mother but unfortunately he couldn't hug her, never, for she resided in a place where he couldn't reach her.

"I am tired of being rejected mom. I want someone to love me like I loved Rinoz but ironically, the world doesn't work like that. It always dumps the person who loves truly" He smiled sadly, caressing the stone from time to time.

"But I remember maa, you said I got to be strong in every situation. You said you will be there to hold me when I fall and then you said even if you aren't there, you will protect me from above. That you will ask Allah to protect your bacha. I remember you saying these words. I know this isn't one of the biggest pain of my life. I can overcome this heartbreak but how I wish that I could tell someone what I am going through. How much pain is inflicted inside me. How much my soul is crying, asking for help. But unfortunately I can't tell this to anyone other than you. I miss you mom. I wish you were here to smile at me and say that everything will be alright, that I'll be alright " He whispered with tears trailing down his eyes before going into deep sleep hugging his home.

"Ahh'' Ahaan winced when he had sharp pain shooting through his leg upon trying to move upon searching for his phone which continuously rang bringing him out of his slumber.

"Hello" His voice sore from sleeping and the pain, for he slept in an awkward position.

"Where the hell are you man?" Affan shouted at his friend.

"Graveyard" Ahaan answered deadpanned.

"What are you doing there?"

"Digging a grave for me" Ahaan yawned.

"Nice joke. Now come home, I am waiting" Affan said and disconnected the call without letting Ahaan answer.

He looked at the screen to see the time past morning, it was noon.

He got up hastily and smiled at his mother, before walking out and driving home, house.

"I'll be back in fifteen minutes" Ahaan ran towards his room as soon as he entered the house and shouted at Affan who nodded his head at him.

"Affan beta, talk to him when he is back. He has been breaking this alot lately. I hope everything is alright" Maria aunty said to Affan, referring to Ahaan breaking the glass teapoy last night.

"Of course aunty, I'll ask him" Affan assured her as he also took notice of the mess that was there when he came to meet Ahaan this morning.

"Good noon young man" Affan looked up at the intruder who entered the house with a warm smile and shook hands with him.

"Good noon uncle, long time. How have you been?" Affan asked, passing a smile towards the middle aged man, Mr. Chatterjee.

"I am fine, came to give this to Ahaan. Can you please give this to him? I have an urgent flight to Canada and I don't have time" He said, giving Affan a brown envelope.

"Sure uncle"

"I'll take your leave" Mr. Chatterjee bid him bye and walked out.

"Pretty fast Ahaan. You got the contract papers ready so soon" Affan mumbled to himself while opening the envelope.

But what he saw next shook him to the core.

*Divorce*

The words were written in bold black letters making him frown. But the names in there took him by shock as it was Ahaan and Ayesha's.

Both his friends were married to each other and this was a big shock.

'Didn't Ahaan love Rinoz?' He frowned thinking why did they got married.
