Chapter Three: Growing Closer
The next morning, she dressed in her favorite purple scrubs and prepared for school. As she was about to leave, she realized her car wasn't working.
"Take me to school, please?" she asked Namjoon and Liam, giving them her best puppy-dog eyes.
Liam sighed dramatically. "You're lucky you're cute."
Namjoon chuckled. "Get in."
She spent the ride chatting with her best friend, Sam, updating her on everything.
Later, after class, she was surprised to see Namjoon waiting outside. "What are you doing here?"
"Liam's not with you?"
He smirked. "I wanted to see you."
Her heart did an embarrassing flip.

"You know," she said between bites, "I love being a nurse. I can't wait to start working and saving lives. I even want to get my NP license."
Namjoon watched her closely, admiration in his eyes. "You're passionate about what you do."
"Of course. Life's too short to waste on things that don't matter."
He hesitated before asking, "How old are you?"
"Twenty-six. Why?"
A smirk tugged at his lips. "I'm older than you."
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? How old?"
He chuckled. "Too old."
Before she could press further, an unwelcome presence appeared—Harry. The clingy, obnoxious guy she could never shake.
"Harry, what are you doing here?"
He grinned. "I was just—"
Annabelle instinctively moved closer to Namjoon, gripping his jacket.
Namjoon's expression darkened. "I think she's busy."
Harry hesitated, clearly intimidated. Annabelle smirked. Finally.
