Ch 3. the friend

Crowley entered his small, empty apartment and set down his bag. After taking his sunglasses off, he flopped down on his small bed, staring up at the blank ceiling. He sighed heavily and closed his eyes, in a worthless attempt to fall asleep.
He tosses and turns in his bed, trying to become comfortable enough to somehow sleep, But he can't seem to keep his eyes closed long enough. Before he even realizes how much time had passed, the sun was beginning to rise. He grumbled. not even tired, and feeling very lonely, he slowly stood up, and began his day.

Meanwhile, Aziraphale was asleep. Calmly lying in his bed before his alarm went off, and he quickly woke up. he smiled softly, sat up, yawned and stretched before standing up and putting his slippers on. He began his day with a smile on his face, as per usual.
After getting completely ready, he decided to call Crowley and check in with the demon. He dialed Crowley's number hoping he would pick up and they could go out and do something together. Crowley answered the phone.
"Hello?" Crowley said tiredly into the phone.
"Hi Crowley!" Aziraphale said in his usual cheery tone. "I was wondering if you'd maybe want to hang out today?" Crowley slightly smiled at the proposal.
"I don't see why not." Crowley responded.
"Yay!" Aziraphale smiled excitedly. "Meet me at the bookstore when you're ready."
"Gotcha. See ya soon." Crowley hung up the phone and sighed. He couldn't stop thinking Azira. He didn't know if it was actually a good idea to go see the angel that day, but he couldn't help but want to. He got dressed and drove to the bookshop.
When he got there, he saw Aziraphale standing outside, confused, he rolled down the window and stuck his head out.
"Hey!" Aziraphale smiled and waves excitedly before running up to the Bentley.
"What are you doing?" Crowley asks with an eyebrow raised.
"Oh, I was thinking we could go get breakfast together." Aziraphale gently smiles, and Crowley can't help but smile a little too.
"Alright, get in." Crowley rolls the window back up as Azira runs over to the other side of the car and gets in.

Later, as Aziraphale and Crowley are sitting in the restaurant, Aziraphale couldn't help but notice how Crowley was staring off, looking all sad. He became concerned. Something was up with Crowley.
"You ok?" Aziraphale asks after taking a sip of his tea. "You look upset." Crowley is caught off guard by this.
"Uhmm..." Crowley doesn't know how to answer. "Yeah I guess I've just been, kinda lonely..." Aziraphale gasped slightly. Crowley looked at him confused.
"Lonely?" Aziraphale asked. Crowley just shrugged in response. Crowley had lied in an attempt to dodge Aziraphale's question, but he had no idea what he would've gotten himself into.

Later that day, Aziraphale was walking by himself in the park before spotting Dog sitting in the distance near a tree.
"Oh hi little puppy! I feel like I know you..." Aziraphale began to walk towards the dog before Adam stepped out from behind the tree. Before too long, Aziraphale realized who was there and the two smiled at each other. "Adam!" Aziraphale cheered excitedly. Adam simply waved.
"What are you doing here?" Adam asked.
"Well, Crowley had told me earlier he was feeling lonely, so I came out to try and find him a friend. But it turns out to be harder then I had anticipated." Aziraphale chuckled nervously.
"Wouldn't it be easier to do that if he were here?" Adam suggested.
"Oh. I guess it would." And with that i̶ a̶m̶ r̶u̶n̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ o̶u̶t̶ o̶f̶ i̶d̶e̶a̶s̶. I MEAN the two ran off to collect Crowley and attempt to convince him to come with them.

Aziraphale knocked gently on Crowley's apartment door. After a few moments, Crowley appeared in the doorway.
"...hi?" Crowley, confused, stared the two down.
"Hi Crowley! So we- uhm-" before Aziraphale barely even got started, Adam cut in.
"We're here to take you out and find you a friend. Aziraphale said you told him you were lonely." Crowley looked at Aziraphale, and the angel just nodded. Crowley sighed.
"Azira, there's really no need for that.." Crowley put his hand on his hip as he leaned in the doorway.
"Well you said you were lonely, so I was just wanting to help..." Aziraphale looked down sadly. Crowley couldn't bear to see him upset. He sighed once again.
"Fine... Let's just get this over with." Crowley stood straight up as Aziraphale smiled once again. The three spent the entire rest of the day going around and talking to random people, most conversations ending up to be one time chats.
Nobody stuck around them for two long, most people assuming they were a family. Aziraphale, disappointed sat down on a bench with Crowley , resting his head in his hands. Adam was sitting with Dog by a nearby pond. Crowley rolled his eyes.
"Ok I can't take this anymore." He turned to Aziraphale. "Azira, I lied. I'm not lonely." Aziraphale looked up at him confused.
   "What? Why?" Aziraphale looked upset.
"Cause I read your diary." Crowley said blatantly. Azira, at first was angry.
"Wait seriously?!" Azira's face turned red as he remembered exactly what he'd written in that diary. "I-I can't believe you! The whole thing?!" Crowley just looked away and nodded. "You jerk!" Aziraphale looked away angrily and crossed his arms. The two sat there in silence for a couple of minutes before Crowley looked back at Aziraphale.
"I... I like you too..." Aziraphale looked up again. "That's what I was staring at earlier. It was you." Aziraphale looked surprised, his face still bright pink, before Crowley pulled the angel into a kiss. Their lips locked passionately together, as the two lovingly kissed in the sunset.
