Interview with RISHI RISH, the authors of "LUTJA"

Greetings authors..

Hope you are doing good. Let me begin the interview with the first question.

*RISHI is not present during the interview, so the questions are being answered by RISH.

Can you tell us about yourself?

Well, I am currently working in the education sector and RISHI happens to be my close friend from the same sector.

When did you first start writing?

I wrote my first sci-fi story when I was in Class V and had been continuously writing something or the other since then. Though there was a lot of inconsistency. I kept writing, but definitely not for commercial purpose. It was after I met RISHI who motivated me to write this book and even wrote it together with me.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

That was a story of a 8 year old boy who went to his grandparent's home during vacations and how he came across an alien. The story was appreciated by my teachers and school principal.

If yes, can you kindly share with us?

I don't remember the whole story and even the copy in which I wrote it got lost. I do have some of the poems which I wrote during my secondary and higher secondary school and even thereafter. But I will do try to recall and if possible, upload it at our website later on.

How did you get interested in writing?

I had only one friend- my younger brother when we were too young. So I used to tell him stories of superheroes, and what we would do when we would grow up. I believe my imagination got enhanced during that period. And later on I may have used those skills to try writing the stories I used to narrate earlier. RISHI on the other hand realized her interest in writing during the duration of writing this book.

Who are your favorite authors? Why?

I like the books of Durjoy Dutta because somewhere he connects to the people. I highly regard Ravindra Singh because I myself couldn't stop crying while reading his first book. Taking into account the current authors I am also a big fan of Chetan Bhagat. When it comes to Sci-Fi there is no second doubt about my fandom of J.K.Rowling. There are many more authors whom I love and admire from the golden era like Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare, Munshi Premchand and Ravindranath Tagore. But I believe I still have a lot of knowledge and literature to explore.

Tell us about your book.

Well Love has no boundaries, and sometimes we fall in dicey situations because of love. It is a complex mix of emotions. We have just tried to portray some of those emotions.

What is the purpose of writing this book?

I guess the prime purpose is to convey our stories to the world, and this book may be a platform to do that. Besides we also wanted to know whether people like our stories so as to motivate us to try further in this regard.

Is this your debut book?

Yes. It is our first book

Who has been your inspiration?

I guess, our mothers are the inspirations behind our dare to complete this book. And for writing, we really get inspired from Chetan Bhagat. A general person like us going forward to show the world his creative side.

Do you write poems too?

Yes. I do write a lot of poems.

What were the struggles you faced during the journey of this book?

Consistency and discipline are the keys to complete a book. I think that in my case a bit of luck was also required. I would have completed my first book alone last year itself. I even wrote some 4 chapters, but the word file got corrupted later on. I still have that file in the hope that one day it might open. When I and RISHI got together, we could finally get this book completed. It was fun discussing stories and finally seeing them take the form of a book.

How do you feel when you write?

I actually feel really amazing while writing and so does RISHI.

What are your other hobbies?

RISHI likes teaching and dancing. She is also a great artist at drawing and crafts. On the other hand, I like playing, imagining and even photography by the name of Rishabh's Shots.

How supportive were your family?

Well without the support of our families this feat wasn't possible.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

The journey has been amazing so far, and we hope for the same in future.

When can we expect your next book?

Maybe in October 2019. We will try publishing one book every October. Or alternate Octobers at the max.

Few words you would like to say to your readers.

Fiction is purely a work of imagination and one should not compare it with real life situations. Though it is also important to get connected and enjoy the story while it lasts.

Finally, a few words of advice for the budding writers?

Well, writing a book is not an easy task. It takes a lot of patience and discipline. If you really want to be a writer, go for it. After many efforts you may also get to the milestone you had been longing for long. And secondly, do review your own book at least 5 times thoroughly before getting it published, even if you are hiring an external editor.
