Part 2

Bdubs ears were hit with the screaming of his alarm. The noise stung his eardrums, causing the man to be awoken brutally. Without even giving himself a second to get his bearings, Bdubs scrambled out of bed, fueled by the determination to stop the screeching that was plaguing his ears. He grabbed the alarm clock and aggressively smacked the off button.
"Stupid sound!" Bdubs shouted, flopping back onto his bed. He allowed himself to almost drift off to sleep again when another loud beeping broke the beautiful silence. Bdubs slowly sat up in anger, expecting the alarm to be screaming at him again. He stopped when it was instead his phone buzzing on the bedside table. Bdubs picked up the device, seeing it was a call from Impulse. "Huh?" The tired man picked up the phone and brought it to his ear. 'Why is he calling so early?' "Impulse?" Bdubs said aloud, surprised at how dead he sounded.
"Hey Bdubs-" Impulse said, his voice was loud against Bdubs ear, making him jump.
"Why did you have to call so early?" Bdubs whined, reaching up to rub his eyes.
"Skizz, Tango, and I are trying to move boxes into our new house and we need some help." Impulse explained. Bdubs's eyes widened. That's right, Impulse, Tango, and Skizz had been saving up to move in together for a while. Bdubs didn't know Skizz too well, he had gone to high school with Tango and Impulse and since Bdubs only met them their first year of college he hadn't gotten to know Skizz all that well.
"Y'all never told me you found a place?" Bdubs questioned.
"Well it was supposed to be a surprise, but we need some help getting everything out of our cars. There is also some job equipment I wouldn't ever let Skizz touch." Bdubs paused for a moment before standing up with a grunt.
"Fine, I'll be over there in a few minutes." Bdubs agreed, getting a happy "Thank you" from Impulse. "Just send me the address ok?"
"Of course, see you in a second!" Impulse said cheerfully, then was cut off by the beep as the call ended. Bdubs shoved his phone back on the bedside table and stumbled towards his closet, taking from it a moss-colored hoodie. He heard his phone buzz again but didn't bother to pick it up knowing it was Impulse sending the new address. He walked into the bathroom, then stepped back out a few minutes later, dressed in grey jeans and the hoodie. The bandana he wore everywhere was tied around his head to keep his hair back. Bdubs walked over to grab the gold clock from beside his bed, he held it in his hands for a moment before clicking it onto the small key chain on his jeans.
Bdubs stepped off his bike, leaning it against the closest mailbox. He roped a small chain lock around the wheel so no one could steal it and turned to look at the house in front of him. It was a nice one-story house. They picked a good place. Both the van and another smaller black car, which he assumed was Skizz's, was in the driveway. The back of the van was open, with a bunch of boxes pushed outside of it.
"Yo! Bdubs!" A voice called from inside the van. Bdubs turned to see Skizz walking down the ramp of the van with a big box in his hands.
"Hi Skizz," Bdubs smiled, walking up to meet the man. "Where are Tango and Impulse?" Skizz stopped, moving to fix his grip on the box.
"Unpacking stuff inside, they won't let me touch anything! Even though I won't break it!" Skizz shouted, probably trying to see if Tango and Impulse could hear him. Bdubs smiled at him with a sympathetic laugh, knowing that there was no way any of them would let Skizz carry their expensive equipment. He went to pick up a box to carry inside, the first one he saw had writing in sharpie scribbled on the top, 'Tango's stuff'. Bdubs rolled up his sleeves and crouched over to lift the box off the ground. The weight of it made him wobble, making him wonder what Tango had in there. Bdubs followed Skizz up into the house, the door was already open so he just followed his tall friend inside.
"Hey Imp! Tango! Bdubs is here!" Skizz announced, placing the box he was carrying in near the front door. Bdubs stepped deeper into the house to try and see where the two were. Impulse leaned over the small kitchen island towards them with a smile.
"Thanks for coming man!" Impulse said, there was loud shuffling behind him as Tango walked out from the kitchen.
"Yall found a nice place." Bdubs complimented, his eyes moving to look outside through the screen sliding door in the living room to see a nice little backyard.
"I know right!" Tango agreed, before going to rummage through an open box.
"Where do you want me to put this?" Bdubs asked, gesturing to the heavy box in his arms that he would really like to put down. Tango must have seen the big sharpie scribbled on the top and waved his hand over toward a small hall near the opposite end of the living room.
"Oh, we don't know which rooms we are in yet so just put it over there. Then we can start moving our equipment into the dining room."
"Why the dining room?"
"It's where we decided we'll set up for a more permanent office space," Tango explained.
"Like an HQ?" Bdubs asked, his eyes widening.
"Haha! The Ghost Hunters HQ!" Skizz chuckled, "But did it really have to be the dining room?!"
"We couldn't think of anywhere else!" Tango said. Bdubs set the box down near where Tango pointed and sighed.
"We need a better name than just 'Ghost Hunters'" Bdubs noted. "It sounds terrible,"
"I'm sure we'll think of something soon." Impulse said, before being cut off by Skizz.
"How about BOO-mers?! Because ghosts say "boo!" and you guys are gonna blow people's minds with ghost proof!" Despite Skizz's great enthusiasm about the name, everyone just stared at him with blank faces.
"Absolutely not," Bdubs stated, before following Tango out the front door, who was laughing way too hard.
"Let's think of some more name ideas later, Ok Skizz?" Impulse said with a soft giggle, patting his friend on the back.
"Fine-"
Bdubs pulled back down his sleeves as he stood in the now full dining room. They managed to move the small computer set up they had from the van to the house, Impulse insisting it was fine that he used his laptop instead of the large pc on jobs to make it easier. They also had unpacked their few small boxes onto a few shelves Tango and Skizz ran out to get. The two also came back with one of those flippable whiteboards, thinking it would be a fun thing to have.
"We could piece together info on it like detectives!" Tango suggested.
"We are ghost hunters Tango? Not murder mystery solvers." Impulse commented as he stood up from completing the computer set up. Now that they had almost everything unpacked, the four sat in the makeshift living room. Impulse and Skizz sat on the longer couch, Bdubs sat across from them on the smaller couch, and Tango sat comfortably on the floor, despite there still being a place for him to sit on the couch.
"Tango why are you on the floor?" Impulse asked. "You can fit on the couch?!"
"He likes the fluffy carpet." Skizz smiled, getting a hum of approval from Tango.
"This is the softest thing in the world." He grinned, running his hands through the fluffy gray carpet. "I thought this carpet would look stupid in here but no!"
"No it kinda does Tango-" Bdubs disagreed.
"It may look stupid, but it doesn't feel stupid," Tango mumbled. "Hey, I think we should invite some people over. To celebrate!" He suggested.
"Ya! I'll text Scott and Martyn!" Skizz offered, pulling out his phone.
"I guess I will see if Grian and some others wouldn't mind coming, it's been a while." Impulse smiled. Bdubs has heard of all of these people before. Some of them had gone to Highschool with the three, others like Grian, had attended the same College as Bdubs Tango and Impulse.
"Guess I'll get to meet some people then!" Bdubs said. Once Skizz and Impulse had convinced everyone to make their way over here, Impulse stood up and spun around to face the three, his hands fumbling quickly around something.
"Ok, before people get here, I think it's time we decide on rooms."
"Alright, Simple, I'll get the master," Tango said as he sat up to lean back on his arms,
"That was quick," Bdubs questioned.
"Well-" Skizz started but was cut off by Impulse who held his arms out to the three.
"This is why I got straws! Whoever draws the big one gets the big room." Impulse said, cupping the bottom of the straws in his hands, hiding which ones were shorter or longer.
"Bet," Tango said. He stood up and pulled one of the straws from Impulse's hands. Skizz moves to grab one as well. Bdubs watched, intrigued to see who would get the lucky straw. All three opened their hands at once, Tango letting out a loud laugh.
"Haha! The room's mine!" He said victoriously, Impulse looked down at his short straw with a frown.
"Ugh dang it." He sighed. Bdubs looked over at Skizz, who looked slightly relieved. Bdubs raised an eyebrow at him, thinking he would have wanted the big room as well. He decided to ignore it and stood up beside Tango.
"Guess we start moving stuff into rooms before everyone gets here," Bdubs said, shoving his hands into the pockets of his hoodie.
"Yup! Gotta figure out how to space all of my stuff out." Tango smiled, getting a groan from Impulse.
"We get it Tango, no need to rub it in!" He groaned. The blond laughed with a nod.
"Ok! ok, I'm sorry," Tango apologized. The four then quickly got to work on getting the majority of the boxes in the house into the correct rooms and areas. None of the rooms had actual furniture yet, besides the two couches that came with the house. The furniture they had was supposed to come later, but none of them knew an exact time or day. Soon after they finished, a few people arrived. Everyone was gathered in the living room, the four all sat down in various places next to the four people that had shown up from the invite.
"So what's with the weird set up in the dining room?" A guy asked, who Bdubs learned was named Martyn. Tango laughed a bit as the person next to him spoke.
"It's for their job." The man said, running a hand through his pastel blue hair. "Which I still think is a silly idea."
"Come on Scott, I think it's cool." A blond-haired guy in a captain america shirt commented, reaching up from his spot on the floor to elbow Scott in the knee. A shorter male in a red wool sweater rocked forward in his seat with an eyebrow raised, Bdubs remembered his name was Grian. From what Bdubs knew, this was the first time in a while Tango and Impulse had seen him.
"What's wrong with their job?" He asked, turning to look at Impulse. Impulse smiled, laughing nervously.
"We're professional Ghost hunters!" Impulse said.
"Professional is a bit of a stretch-" Tango stated, making Bdubs laugh.
"As professional as you can get." The guy in the captain america shirt smiled. "What kind of ghosts have you had to fight!?"
"We don't fight ghosts Jimmy! We catch evidence to prove there is a haunting and figure out what kind it is." Impulse explained.
"Kinda hard to prove something that isn't real-" Grian grumbled, leaning back into the couch.
"Not real?!" Bdubs shouted, rising from his seat. "Do you know how many times we've been attacked by something!"
"That's exactly why I don't like it! It's too dangerous!" Scott said. "I like my friends alive, thank you." Etho, who was sitting next to Bdubs, laughed.
"That's always nice!" He agreed. Unlike most of the faces here, Etho was one that Bdubs knew very well. The two had gone to high school together and when they both went to the same college, their friendship remained.
"Even if we did die, I would come back to haunt all of you. Then you would see that ghosts are real." Bdubs said snarkily, his comment targeted specifically at Grian. Etho elbowed Bdubs in the shoulder with a smile.
"I hope you're joking. You won't be able to haunt us man-"
"You don't believe in Ghosts?!" Bdubs asked, slightly shocked.
"Not really, never been into superstitions and such," Etho said. It was then that Bdubs remembered that Etho really never did believe in anything myth or legend related. Bdubs was now planning to change that.
"We have to have some footage still saved here right?!" Bdubs said, turning to Impulse with a desperate gaze
"Ya, but most of those have a legal document attached that protect the privacy of the house owner and-"
"So footage is a no?!"
"Ya-"
"Darn! I'm telling you two, Ghosts are real! But we can't show you exactly how an-'' Bdubs spoke his thoughts aloud as he tried to figure out a way to prove he was right.
"Ya you can! The guy who sold us the house told me that there's a ghost in the attic!" Skizz said in a very casual tone. All three of the ghoul boys turned towards Skizz with wide eyes.
"What?! Skizz!?" Impulse yelled.
"How else do you think we got this house for so little?? The owners left because it was haunted..." Skizz explained, his enthusiasm about the situation fading.
"Why would you buy a HAUNTED HOUSE?!" Bdubs questioned as his mind scrambled to understand the situation.
"I thought yall would like it!" Skizz shouted, his voice cracking loudly. "Come one!" Tango froze in place for a moment before his eyes widened in fear.
"That's why you weren't upset about not getting the master room?! THE ATTIC'S ENTRANCE IS RIGHT NEAR IT-" He realized, making Skizz laugh awkwardly.
"I mean- It is kinda cool right?" Skizz tried to reason, getting a tired and understanding sigh from Impulse.
"It's ok buddy. Maybe if we leave the ghost alone up there they might stay calm and distant. At least I hope they will-"
Bdubs paused for a moment before standing up from his spot. He spun around to face the small group with a determined smile.
"Get your gear boys! It's ghoul time!" He said. If Skizz was right, then they were gonna get proof of this so-called ghost and assure that what they do is an actual job. 'We'll see what Grian and Etho have to say about that!' Bdubs thought.
"What did I just say about leaving it alone?" Impulse whined. Impulse turned to look at Tango for some sort of backup, but Tango stood up with a stretch.
"You heard the man! Let's go!" He said with growing enthusiasm. Impulse got up as well, silently mumbling to himself about how much of a terrible idea this was. Bdubs looked at Etho and Grian, who both wore expressions of confusion and a slight interest. Jimmy was beaming, going to follow after Impulse. Etho stood up from his seat to stand in front of Bdubs.
"You really think there's going to be a ghost in the attic?" He said, looking down at Bdubs with questioning eyes.
"I'm positive," Bdubs stated. Grian got up as well, placing his hands on his hips and smiling at Bdubs.
"Well this is going to be interesting."
No Spookies in this chapter sorry <3. Forgive me if this chapter isn't very smooth- Im hoping to get a better grasp how I want this story to flow :] but here, have a Minecraft version of how I imagined Tango, Impulse, and Skizz's house.
