"Don't worry! Why?-" The room dims as shut my computer screen off "because we're here now!" I smile brightly as I finish the sentence and hop off of my chair. I throw the curtains open rub my eyes as sunlight floods the room. I walk up to the mirror in my room and try to flex and sigh as I see a skeletal like figure reflected back at me "I can be a hero even if I look like this..."I smile weakly and gently poke at my small stomach and ribs. "I ca-"

"Shi! Get down here! You're gonna be late for school! Stop wasting your time and get down here!" My dad shouted angrily, his steps getting louder and louder just before he threw my door open.

I scream and cover my self up, my hands hovering over my chest and pelvis.

He groaned as he covered his eyes. "Shi, why aren't you dressed yet? Damn it! You're gonna be late for that entrance test at U.A." he turned around and scoffed at it "I don't even know why you're trying Shi, I mean look at you! With your quirk what could you do?" he sighed and walked out "you just had to inherit her quirk" he grumbled as he went back down to the living room

I sigh and sniffle as I sort through my closet looking for my clothes, I put on some jogging pants and a t-shirt once I've found them. I grab the rest of my things rush downstairs and run out of the door shouting bye to my dad as I did, he didn't reply as usual.

As I walk down the street I think back to

2 years ago a group of Nomus attacked Deku and Uravity's Hero Agency... it was also the day I lost my Mom. She was there as a guest, invited by Uravity because they saw the potential mom had! But then... they attacked and my mom fought alongside Uravity and Deku. She was a small-time hero but she still fought as hard as she could against the Nomus... but one was able to catch Uravity off guard and my mom pushed her out of the way and those monsters grabbed and crushed her bones... they rushed her to the hospitals and the doctors said it was a miracle that she was still alive, the bones pierced her organ, even the heart was badly punctured but my mom clung onto life still. She promised that she'd make it to my 12th birthday, my mom always kept promises to people as heroes she'd promise to keep them safe or get back the stuff they were robbed of, this time was no different. She was still alive on my birthday, and she gave me the best present I ever got; she told me "A hero isn't defined by their looks or quirks but by their heart." mom wasn't around much because of her hero work but she loved and cared for me whenever she was around and her hero work was amazing! It was small-time hero work but she still did it with excitement and passion. I dream to be like her one day, a great hero.

I smile at the thought as I take a break from walking to catch my breath, leaning against a wall as I breathe heavily "But... maybe dad's right, with my quirk and condition I'm pretty much useless" I rub my chest as I take deep breaths and tilt my head back when I suddenly hear someone calling my attention.

"Hey! Are you okay?" he shouted from across the street right before he ran to me "Are you okay ma'am?"

I nodded still feeling winded  "yes, just a bit tired, it's a medical condition" I chuckle and smile as I face him "I'll be fine thank you though"

"Well let me help with that at least" he smiled at me before he raised his hands and held his hands out like he was holding a ball "get ready to breathe in alright?" as he said that a small breeze suddenly appeared, it all headed towards the center point of his hands "my quirks allow me to control the density of air and if I focus enough I can even control certain gasses" he turned back to face me and extended his hands out to me "alright breathe it in"

I give him a confused look before I take a deep breath, my eyes widen at the sudden rush of oxygen and energy I feel "Woah!" I stumble back into the wall and rub my head "what was that?"

He chuckled "as I said, it's my quirk! I focused on the oxygen in the air and I compressed it into the area between my hands, that's why you felt a breeze too, that was me attracting the oxygen around me." he smiled and fixed his hair and shirt "I hoped it helped"

I nod "it really did, but about your quirk isn't it the same as Gale Force's?" I ask him as I fix my shirt and pants

He chuckled and shook "No, not at all, he can control the direction of the wind, I can't, all I can do is create vacuums, low-pressure, and high-pressure areas essentially" he shrugged and offered me a handshake "My name's Hayate, Hayate Akari"

I took his hand and shook it "Nice to meet you, I'm Yoshiko Hikaru, my dad calls me Shi though for... well obvious reasons" I let out a halfhearted chuckle and shyly rub the back of my head "Anyways, thank you so much, but I should get going, I'll be late for the U.A. entrance exams"

"Wait, you're going to the U.A. exam? What coincidence so am I!" he smiled and shook my hand excitedly "What are we waiting for let's go!" he let go of my hand and we began running towards the tall hill upon where U.A. was built.

When we arrived at U.A. the orientation was just about to start as we settled into our seats which were at the very back of the room since we were so late.

Present Mic walked onto the stage smiling, he put his hands onto his hips and spoke "What's up? Are you ready to take the test?" his loud booming voice echoed in the room even without a microphone.

"Yeah!" I shout loudly and pump my fist up in the air. My voice echoes in the quiet room as everyone's gazes come to land on me until Present Mic's voice shatters the silence.

"Yeah! Finally someone as excited as me!" he said loudly with a wide smile and pointed at me "Thank you! I've been waiting for years for someone to respond!" he gave me a thumbs up and that was more than enough to compensate for the embarrassment I felt from replying and a small smile appears on my face. "So anyways this year we have special guests who will orient you on the entrance exam for U.A. all of you may know them!" he smiled and pointed towards the doors at the back of the room "Come on!"

The large doors flew open and the room flooded with light, a large group of shadows stood against it all posed as the bright light outlined the figures, one by one they walked through the door and down the steps of the conference room. I stared at them as they walked.

Hayate nudged my shoulder smiling "Those are the famous "Class 1-A Heroes", they're the best class U.A. had ever taught!"

I nod smiling "Look there's Tailman and Invisible Girl!" I look at them in awe, well except Invisible Girl

Hayate chuckled and pointed "There's also Earphone Jack and Chargebolt! They're awesome!"

I watched all of them walk by listing them all off mentally "Tailman, Invisible Girl, Earphone Jack, Chargebolt, Pinky, Froppy, Anima, Sugarman, Tentacole, Cellophane, Grape Juice, Creati, Red Riot, Can't Stop Twinkling, Tsukuyomi, Shoto, Ingenium, and..." my eyes linger on the last 2 heroes as they walk through the door holding hands "Deku and Uravity..." I mumble as my eyes tear up, they're great heroes but those 2 are a very painful reminder for me.

Uravity glances towards me and she stops dead in her tracks her smile fading away, Deku looks to her and follows her gaze towards me and they both stare at me with sad smiles and give me a small nod before continuing down the stairs joining their former classmates on the stage.

"Wait! Where's Bakugo?" Present Mic said as he tried to look for him in the group of pro heroes

Red Riot walked up to Present Mic "Oh he didn't come, He said "Why would I want to do something as stupid as that?" and walked off, I think he said he was gonna do some hero work instead" he chuckled and shrugged.

Present Mic laughed and nodded "He still hasn't changed" he sighed and smiled "Well anyways, I invited these heroes here today as guests! They're here to orient and answer questions you may have about the test especially since this year's test is a special one to help breed a new more powerful generation of heroes!" He pulled some mics out from under the podium and handed it to them "You might need these"

Ingenium stepped forward taking a mic as he took his helmet off "Hello U.A. Applicants I am Ingenium!" he shouted before bowing "It is very nice to meet you all!" he stood back up "this year's hero entrance exam will be the same every aspect, you'll have to defeat 4 different faux villains each worth a different amount of points, ranging from 1 to 4 points however this year instead of having a 0 point faux villain that's meant to distract and stop you from getting points by attacking you-"

Creati took one of the microphones smiling "There will be 2 extremely powerful faux villains each of them will be worth 40 points and to gain the points you just need to disable them. Though I'd recommend avoiding them entirely."

Uravity took a microphone "Because they will be hunting you down, if these villains take you down you'll lose half of your current points. So if you have 60 you'll then have 30, then 15 and so on! It'll be difficult but it's all to help you become stronger! But also when you take down these 2 faux villains the points will be shared with anyone that helps take them down!"

Red Riot took a mic and turned into his hardened form and pumped his fist"So do your best, be manly, and work together!"

Deku stepped up and so did the rest of the group they raised their fist in the air and shouted "Go beyond your capabilities! GO PLUS ULTRA!"

Hayate and I were assigned to different testing facilities so we went our separate ways. I ran towards the entrance of my testing facility and went wide-eyed to see the different types of people applying to get into U.A. most of them were warming up or practicing moves with their quirks. One girl a bit further from the group of people warming looked different compared to everyone. She was punching a tree repeatedly with a blazing ferocity. She stepped back before suddenly bone shot out from her knuckles similar in form to brass knuckles before she began punching the tree again, the bone knuckles smashing the tree with ease. She smirked before the bone knuckles slowly went back into her knuckles like they were never there "I wish I had a cool quirk like that..." I mumble as I pull out my back and began eating the snacks I brought to try and replenish my fats. As I ate the girl with the bone quirk noticed and started walking towards me with an angry look "wh-why is she coming towards me!" I freak out and because of that, I choke on my food and cough. When I did her demeanor immediately changed and she ran towards me with a look of concern.

"Are you okay? Are you choking?" She asked me with a concerned look while she gently patted my back.

I nod and clear my throat "Y-yeah, I just choked on my food when you were coming over here" I take my water bottle and drink "You just looked really scary and it freaked me out" I chuckle softly and sigh.

She facepalms herself "I'm such an idiot! I'm so sorry about that, I was just gonna tell you to start warming up for the test because I saw you eating so I thought you were taking it easy!" she sighs and sits down on the ground with me "I'm really sorry about that."

I smile and nod "it's okay, I totally get it! I was just eating because my quirk burns up my fats so I'm eating to try and stockpile" I chuckle and pull out a sandwich "do you want one?"

She smiles and shakes her head "No no I'm fine, is that why you look... well I apologize if it sounds rude but look so skeleton-like?" she cringes hoping to not offend me.

I chuckled and shake my head "Actually it's not that, I also have a medical condition that causes my body to have an extremely fast metabolism, because of that I get tired really quickly because my body burns off energy really quickly and with that my fats too. " I smile and take a bite out of my sandwich

She nodded "Well I'm sorry if I freaked you out and made you choke, my bad" she sighed and stuck her hand out "My name Nariko Yū but everyone just calls me Nari" her bright and kind smile a very stark contrast from her mood earlier.

I shake her hand and smile "It's fine really, my name's Yoshiko Hikaru but my dad calls me Shi."I let go of her hand and look at it "I saw you at the tree earlier? What's your quirk?" I ask Nari as I finish off my last sandwich.

Nari stood up and put her fists up in front of her chest with a wide smirk "I call it bone growth" she says before 2 large blades made of bone grow out of the top of her hands. "It allows me to grow and manipulate my bones into any shape I want, they usually come out of my skin though but oddly enough it never actually hurts me but I can do all sorts of things with it like make blades or-" she chuckles and makes her bone blades shrink back into her hands as she suddenly grew bones over her face in the form of a partial mask and grew over her shoulders and covering her upper torso "armor!" she stands in a triumphant pose before making her bone armor shrink back "Kinda creepy I admit but it's still really cool honestly. What's your quirk, Yoshi?"

I look at Nari confused "Yoshi?"

She smiles and sits back down "Yeah, Shi isn't really a nice nickname but I think Yoshi sounds cute! Plus if you write it in hiragana you could kinda read it as all right or it's gonna be okay" Nari said as she gave me a bright smile.

I nod and smile "Yoshi it is! Well, anyways my quirk is this." I extend my hands down towards Nari's waist as she gives me a confused look, I make a grabbing motion and at the same time she jumps a bit and yelp.

She looks down at her waist pulling her sweatshirt up to see it "What did you do? I felt something grab me but from like the inside."

I smile "Just watch. " I slowly move my hands upwards and Nari's waist shrinks slightly and a bulge moves up her body and stops at her chest where my hands are, I pull my hands forward and suddenly Nari's breasts plump up, the bulge that followed my hands being absorbed into it making her yelp in surprise "There you go!" I chuckle and try to hold back my laughter.

Nari reaches up and gently holds her breasts "They're heavier and bigger... how did you do that? Is that your quirk Yoshi? Making people's body parts larger?" she joked and laughs snorting.

I giggle and shake my head "No I wish I could do so I wouldn't look like a skeleton. It's actually fat manipulation, I can manipulate and control people's fats, that's how I made your boobs bigger" I chuckle and extend my hands out and do the same grabbing motion towards her boobs which makes Nari squeak and flustered as I pull her fat back down to her waist. "So yeah that's my boring quirk." I shrug and sigh rubbing my head.

Nari playfully punches my shoulder "dude your quirk is awesome! I'm sure you could do so much with it lik-" loud horns sound off as the doors to the facility open "It's starting..." she smiles excitedly and runs to the doors "I'll see you in there Yoshi!"

I stand up and watch the doors open and see everyone run in. I tighten my fist and dash towards the door following Nariko "I'll get into U.A.! I'll be a hero!" I grit my teeth as I get closer towards the entrance and shout to myself "I'LL GO PLUS ULTRA!"
