Red In The Blue

'All the colours of mine are observed in you. What's left is the shine of your love.'

Avisa went through papers and papers while she was looking at the result and compared them to the previous one.

It's been hours since she was stuck in these varied results until she found the error. She looked at Dyaus but she found him reading a journal.

To look she didn't quit it in between he was staying up there looking at her. It reminded her of old times when both of them would be busy with their thesis. Time deviated, and so did their dreams but persisted were their feelings.

She excused herself to bring something to eat telling him about finding the error.

'Eat this.'

'Raw tomato?'

'Has your taste improved?'

He took her in his arms as she was yanked by his sudden action.

'No, I still have the same old habits. You in my arms and my harmony with you.'

'These are nights I always dream of. You're here.'

Resting her head on his chest she mumbled. 'Your fingers are fiddling with mine. Where my heart harmonizes with yours. I know that in the morning I am going to convene with the same warmth.'

He smiled a little hearing her words as she glanced at him with her sleep-filled eyes. 'This same smile and I sleep without fear.'

'—without fear of meeting with reality.'

That night she slept in his arms while confessing the little portion of herself without realizing when she slept. Because she knew that the truth wouldn't change with the morning. He was going to be here, at least for this morning.

He put her in their bed but as he strived to leave her, her finger held him by the end of his thumb.

'Sh. I will be here soon. No more recess, I promise.'

He went up to clean her paper. She often loses the papers and spends hours searching for them. Unlike her, he was organized, putting everything in its place.

A habit of his she always missed, maybe that was the reason that everything was kept as he liked. So she isn't reminded that now they live aloof, insulated in their world. As for her, where could be her world beside him?

Keeping every paper and pen at their places, he joined his place beside her. She was clutching the pillow, there was a time when she was afraid to sleep. But with time she found her companion in the cessation.

When he was away, it was the only place where she could mumble her feelings. Where no one would withstand the loneliness of her tears, a place she could colour in her love. Where she inhabited alone with their memories.

But now he was part of her memories, he was familiar with her tears. So at night, he would converse with those wavering memories, spending nights collecting her every tear. So in the day, he could sparkle these drops with seven elegant colours built with the glint of their relationship.

'Every night I am abandoned by the winds, and all I desire is to hold up these tears. My francium, a dream of mine, is a part of you. I live away collecting all your tears.'

He murmured slowly near her ears as he kissed her.

'I do love you more than anything.'

He slept that night with peace, having her in his arms. In the morning this dream would lay on the corners of his pillow. She would smile, and he would kiss all her lingering memories.

The strand of her hair would keep brushing through his eyes, little tears would form. But he would smile as they would be crammed with the joy of their memories.

This morning she got up early so she could look at him. Just like she has imagined during those miserable mornings. Running her hands through his face, feeling his growing stubble she placed her lips on his eyes as she noticed his moving figures.

'Morning, Dyaus.'

'Avisa.'

'Hm?'

'Is it a dream?'

'No.' She placed her lips on his other eye. 'You are here.'

He got up rubbing his eyes. Dissimilar to him, she was never a morning person. So her enthusiasm forced him to get up when he noticed her juggling through the drawer near their bed.

Pulling a little box she brought it in front of him.

'This is for you.'

'What is this?'

She didn't say anything just indicated to him to open. It was the chain with a little blue stone locket dangling in the middle.

'Water and sky, both are different but both carry blue. Blue keeps us connected.'

'None of them is their actual colour.'

'They both devour red. So all of the love had been observed in it. Touch it.'

His finger caressed the little stone as he noticed a glowing sparkle coming out. 'It lights'

'That's the glimmer of the stars and moon. Don't know which one is you in the night sky but surely one of them sparkles with continual hope.'

She whirled behind his back as she helped him wear it. 'At night when I would be alone. Welcomed by silence, the redolence of your smile is all left with me. I would attempt to find you in the sky but every single flicker in the sky would make me remember you.'

She turned to look at it around his neck. Sparkling as she touched it again.

'But I anticipate it wouldn't be you. Regardless of it, my heart would spin different stories, I would see you high in the sky. Searching you in every darkness. Even when we stay worlds apart I invariably wait for these parts to unite.'

She halted fluster. None of the words made sense to her at the moment.

''When someone goes by I always wonder if someone waits for them. Like I do. Its rare water gets to hold the sky and its stars for a long time. I would never know how long I could hold you.'

'I am anyways tangled here.'

'You would fly away. Nevertheless, now I try to carry you in my words. Something to keep me alive.'

'Everyone does. But I promise this wouldn't be long. How far I am, the home would be all I need. And it is with you Avisa.'

'Really?'

'If it's not you then who would be?'

'You are going this time. Farther?'

'Yes. Farther discovering more depths of the sky.'
