(Third Person P.O.V)

___ Bizarro Ninja ___

It was after lunch and they had settled down for an easy day. "It's your move." (Y/N) said as she moved her piece across the chessboard.

Lord Garmadon looked at the chessboard with an intensity that (Y/N) knew all too well. She could see his competitive side coming through as he mauled over his next move on the chessboard.

Lord Garmadon's four red-eyed sons had gathered in the lounge room to watch their father and their beloved girlfriend battle across the board.

(Y/N) smiled at Lord Garmadon's confident look after he moved his piece. "There. I believe that is what you call a 'cheek'. Right?" (Y/N) said as she reached in and moved her knight into position to take out Lord Garmadon's king.

"Yes, we do call that a 'check'. However, this... is what we call a checkmate!" Lord Garmadon declared moving his castle into position to take out (Y/N)'s king. The game had ended in a draw so both Lord Garmadon and (Y/N) shook hands.

"This is a fascinating game you have here. I will have to take a set with me if I ever return to where I'm from." (Y/N) complemented as she looked up and smiled at Lord Garmadon.

While this was only meant as a complement to the game Lord Garmadon had chosen for them to play. This friendly comment had, however, upset Kai Garmadon.

Kai didn't like the implication that (Y/N) would ever leave. Even if it was only a light-hearted joke and burst into tears and started wailing on the ground.

This spooked everyone, sure Kai Garmadon was sensitive but he'd never broken down in front of them like this before.

Jay jumped off the couch and stood beside (Y/N) as she started to cuddle Kai. While Zane and Cole stood next to their father.

"Kai, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" (Y/N) questioned the sobbing, red-eyed Master of Fire.

All that came out of Kai's mouth was unintelligible nonsense. Jay's face turned into scowl directed towards his crybaby brother. "Jez, bro. Stop being such a baby." Jay scolded his wuss of a brother.

"Jay, don't be mean to your brother." Lord Garmadon sighed and shook his head disapprovingly at Jay. Jay folded his arms and sulked as his father turned his attention to his crying son.

"Kai, son. What's wrong? You need to use your words." Lord Garmadon directed towards his blubbering son.

"I-don't-want-(Y/N)-to-leave." Kai hiccuped as he sobbed. "Kai? What? I'm not leaving." (Y/N) questioned the crying red-eyed ninja in her arms.

"You-you-said." Kai wailed at her while pointing at the board game. "You-said-you-wanted-one. When-you-left." Kai wailed again as the tears started to pour again. "Oh, Kai. I just meant that as an if I was only complementing the game." (Y/N) clarified for the distressed boy.

"I guess you just must be a little slow on the uptake, little brother." Zane snickered at Kai. While Jay and Cole chuckled alongside him.

Lord Garmadon scowled at the three of them and they quickly shut up. "Alright, that's enough." Lord Garmadon declared before he turned towards Kai and knelt down to his level.

"Hey Kai. It's ok. We were just having a little fun." Lord Garmadon explained to his distressed son. Zane rolled his eyes with Jay as they approached their father. "Oh. Come on, dad." Zane whined at his father. "Don't baby him." Cole spoke up.

"Boys, leave your brother alone." Lord Garmadon hissed and glared at his sons. "(Y/N) I think Kai needs someone's attention." Lord Garmadon hinted to her.

"More like NEEDS someone to snuggle with because he's a baby." Zane interrupted with Cole and Jay giggling. "Boys." Lord Garmadon scolded again.

"What do I do to help him?" (Y/N) urged in slight confusion. Lord Garmadon smiled at the girl looking up at him for guidance. "Just hold onto him and don't let him go." Lord Garmadon instructed with a kind voice and kinder gesture.

Jay, Zane and Cole Garmadon began gagging and making faces at their brother behind their fathers back.

Lord Garmadon turned to look at his three sons. "And I think my three other sons need some discipline training with their father right now." Lord Garmadon said in a disapproving parental tone.

The three began to object but it all fell on deaf ears. "The three of you with me, now." Lord Garmadon ordered and led his misbehaving sons to the training room.

Right after Lord Garmadon finished speaking. Kai looked up at (Y/N) with big sad eyes. "(Y/N)? Is it alright if I sleep in your room with you tonight?" Kai pleaded with her tears still in his eyes. "I j-just need to know you'll be here when I wake up."

"Alright." (Y/N) agreed, wiping the fresh tears from Kai's face. Kai hiccuped a little as he slowly calmed down in his beloved's arms.

"I'm sorry. I was just scared. Scared I was going to lose you. Even if you don't believe it, you're too good for me. You're smart, kind, caring, fierce and you love us." Kai confessed, wiping his face with the back of his hand. "I'm not ready to let you go yet. (Y/N), please, don't say something like that again. I might not be strong enough to hear it next time."

(Y/N) sat up and enveloped her arms around Kai and they cuddled into each other. "I'm also sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. But don't worry, I'm not planning on leaving you anytime soon." (Y/N) promised the red-eyed Master of Fire.

"Really?" Kai asked teary-eyed. "I promise." (Y/N) replied wiping away the fresh tears.

Later that night after (Y/N) finished brushing her teeth. (Y/N) walked out of her private adjoining bathroom. And came out to see that Kai was already sitting on the side of her bed.

"Did you already brush your teeth, Kai?" (Y/N) asked with a sly smile. "Of course I did." Kai said with a nod and smiling that sugary sweet smile of his.

(Y/N) hugged Kai goodnight and crawled into her bed Kai following after her. He positioned himself just so that his head lay close to (Y/N)'s heart. Then Kai wrapped his arms around (Y/N) and let his legs fall to either side of (Y/N).

An immediate feeling of warm love and elation flushed through Kai at hearing the soft sound of her heartbeat. He would cherish this moment for the rest of his life.

(Y/N) and Kai slept deeper than they had ever slept that night, cocooned in each other's love.
