Vanessa did ask Jennifer why she never told her about the engagement and Jennifer replied with, "It was on a need to know basis" and that made Vanessa even more upset. Then Jennifer decided to bring up Savannah. Resulting in Vanessa being livid then. Out of that anger, Vanessa had voiced, "You know what! I don't even want anymore kids!" That led to doors slamming and Henry crying.
Since then, the two continued to have been angry. They barely say one word to each other in the mornings or at all during the day.
Even right then, at 12 o' clock in the afternoon on Saturday, they were still going at it. Cole was listening to the whole thing as she did her homework in her bedroom with the door closed. She was annoyed with the constant arguing and she thought what they were arguing about was quite stupid.
A groan left her mouth as she fell back on her bed. She heard their voices rise and the more she tries to focus on her work, the harder it gets. So Cole pulled out her phone and texted her girlfriend. She texted Mia that she was coming over because jj and Vanessa were still going at it. After quickly sending that message, she picked up her bag from the side of her bed and brought it up on her bed. Cole shoved her homework, pencil, and calculator in the bag before swinging it over her shoulder and standing up.
She headed to the door and began her way to the front door, passing Henry's room and her parents arguing in the living room.
Jj and Vanessa were so quick to turn their attention to the front door. They saw cole with her bag over her shoulder and about to head out. As worried parents, they called out.
"Cole! Where are you going?"
She turned around with an eye roll, "Out —- to get away from the constant arguments."
Jj and Vanessa both glanced at each other before looking back at Cole.
"Just be safe." Vanessa reminded her.
Cole slightly nodded, "Always am."
The teen walked on out and now the two adults were alone. Henry wasn't even there because he was picked up an hour before to go to the park with the nanny. They at least were considerate enough to not let Henry hear the arguing.
But as soon as that front door shut and Cole was gone, Vanessa turned back to jj with an angry tone.
"Just tell me one thing, Jennifer. That ring I found in our sock drawer, was that the ring?"
Jennifer deeply sighed. Even though she really didn't want to tell Vanessa the truth, she knew it was a lot better than a lie, "Yes."
Vanessa nodded, "And here I thought you were going to propose. I guess we're just not in that place yet. How silly of me."
Vanessa turned on her heels and headed in the direction of their room. She shut the door behind her, leaving jj in the living room trying to comprehend her thoughts.
The agent felt stuck now. She didn't know how they were going to move forward or if they ever would. She didn't know how to convince Vanessa that her keeping the ring means nothing or to get it through her head that she isn't a home wrecker —— that everything leading up to the moment they just had was all jj's decisions and not her's.
She didn't know how to show or express to Vanessa that she was enough.

Cole had her work spread out across the kitchen counter in my Mia's house, while she poured some wine. As the eraser of the pencil was in between Cole's teeth, Mia then sat across from her. She slid one glass towards her girlfriend while the other sat in front of her.
Cole picked up the glass and sipped the red wine. After sipping she placed the glass back down and just stared at Mia in adoration.
"What?" Mia noticed Cole staring.
"Nothing." Cole shook her head, "Just glad we're still teenagers and don't have adult problems yet."
"Well our time is nearing. Eighteen is going to look good on us this year." Mia picked up her wine glass.
Cole blurted out, "Do you think we'll still be together in our 20's?"
After Mia's quick sip, she placed the glass back down, "I would hope so. But if I'm being real and we do split, it'll probably be my fault."
"Come on, M —— don't say that."
"It's true." Mia shrugged, "I'm the problematic one in this relationship and you can't tell me I'm not right."
"Fine. But I can say this . . . whatever happens with us, I know for a fact that it won't be because someone cheated or whatever. It'll be something completely different." Cole finished, "Because at the end of the day, I would never do that —- again."
Mia nodded, "Right . . the whole Daniel of it all. Should i be worried about that?"
Cole rested her forearms on the counter, "Didn't you cheat on Daniel too? So, should I be worried about that?"
Mia just scoffed, "Touché, girlfriend, touché."
Cole just blew Mia a kiss and Mia playfully rolled her eyes. Cole then began leaning across the counter, gesturing Mia to meet her in the middle with her index finger. Mia began leaning and as she did, she brought up her arm to reach over, grabbing Cole's shirt and pulling her closer. Their lips soon met and as each kiss began getting deeper and more passionate, Mia slightly pulled away.
"What?" Cole whispered.
The two were still so close, leaning over the counter.
"Do you want to stay over?" Mia whispered back, "We could uh —— continue this upstairs and whatever happens . . . " Mia glanced from Cole's lips back to her eyes, "Happens."
Cole's jaw clenched a bit, "It'll be our first as a couple."
Mia lightly shrugged, "Go with the flow kind of thing."
Not only a second later did Cole quickly peck Mia's lips and then sprinted to the staircase. Mia went after her, sprinting all the way up to her room and the door closing behind her. Cole had only turned around at the sound of the door shutting.
She walked up to Mia and aggressively pulled her close by the arm, her other arm wrapping around Mia's waist. Mia slowly leaned in, pressing her lips against Cole's ——- continuing what was started from downstairs.

After awhile of leg shaking, overthinking, and getting advice from her friends ——- Jennifer stormed into her room and found Vanessa reading a book on the bed as she began what she was going to begin.
"I chose you." She started and Vanessa'a eyes adverted towards her from her book, "And that ring only reminds me of how bad I hurt will. It's a reminder to never do that again —— to never do that to you." Jennifer briefly paused before continuing, "I never told anyone this and you can hate me for it, but I went into my relationship with Will knowing I had feelings growing for you. It was before I knew how you felt and leaving Will was one of the hardest things I had ever done in my life." She concluded, "I broke up my family, not you."
Vanessa bit the inside of her cheek, "Do you regret walking into my life? Everything would probably be easier."
"No." Jj approached the bed, "Do you know why? Because I'm not looking for easy. No one ever said real love would be easy."
Vanessa lightly scoffed, "Real love? What does that even mean?"
"Us. It doesn't matter how many obstacles get in our way or anything because you and I will make it out to the end. You are the one consistent person besides Henry, that I want in my life forever. And you're wrong about us not getting married." Jennifer climbed on the bed, "I think we're ready."
"See you come in here saying all that with your pretty eyes." Vanessa stared into those pretty blue eyes, "I'm sorry for making this into something bigger than it needed to be and saying that I didn't want more kids because I do."
"You had your reasons." Jj crawled next to Vanessa, laying her head on her lap, "But please don't leave me."
"And why would I do that?" Vanessa joked, "The sex is good."
Vanessa tossed the book at the end of the bed before leaning down to give jj a peck. Even though she was just going in for a quick peck, jj wanted something a little more. Just when they were slowly getting into it, the doorbell rang.
Jj groaned sitting up, "I'll get it."
"Makeup sex later." Vanessa told her as she exited the room to the door.
The two were happy that they were able to reconcile and whatnot. None of this meant that they weren't going to have problems in the future because every couple does, but it just showed that if their relationship was strong enough, they could get through almost anything.
Even Will.
Who tends to be the root cause of almost all of their problems actually.
