Sophie's Pov
A/N This chapter is a little confusing, but stick with it till the end! Hopefully then it will make a little more sense!❤️😉
P.s. Errol is Mr. Forkle's Name for anyone who forgot/didn't know
I looked around the startled faces staring at me. I cautiously looked up to see to glowing marks above my head. An owl, which I guessed was for Athena. And a trident, which I had no idea about. After a few moments, the owl disappeared, but the trident remained.
"Do you guys know what this means?" I asked, gesturing to the blue light above my head.
Percy looked at me. "Well it looks like you're not Annabeth's sister." Percy said, only loud enough to where I could hear him. "It also looks like the gods can't decide who should claim you."
"Or there both trying to claim her," Annabeth mumbled to Percy, maybe thinking I couldn't hear her.
But if both gods were my parents, then my dad/mom couldn't be an elf. That would me make me-
"Is she a god!?" The little boy who was asking about China shouted.
I gulped and turned to Percy. He brought his hand to his forehead, and sighed. "I think I need to talk with Chiron." He eventually sputtered out.
—————————~~~~~~~~~~~~——————————
"Come in!" Said a kind voice, who I could only assume was Chiron's.
I was standing next to Percy with Annabeth on His other side. The trident was still glowing over my head, but the owl was long gone.
Percy turned the bright copper door knob. Chiron glanced up from a stack of papers gasped. He rubbed his eyes and trotted over, as if to examine the glowing symbol more clearly.
"Sir, may I talk to you for a moment?" Percy asked, addressing Chiron. He nodded numbly as Percy followed him into another room.
I sat down across from Annabeth and looked her straight in her stormy great eyes. A trait all children of Athena share. I also made note of her athletic figure compared to my slightly scrawny one. Sure, we both had blond hair, but what if we weren't really sisters?
"So," Annabeth said, clicking her tongue. "You know, even if we're not sisters, we can still be best friends. I mean, since it's pretty clear you're a child of the Big Three, you might want to stay year round."
I rubbed my temples, so confused. Am I an elf? Am I a Demi-god?
Chiron and Percy walk out of the office, interrupting my thoughts. Chiron shot Annabeth and Percy a look that seemed to leave. Percy nodded, hooked Annabeth's arm, and walked out the door.
Chiron looked at me. "Sophie, I haven't been completely honest with you. When Errol am I found you outside of Olympus, while on an evening stroll, we didn't know who or what you were.
Errol told me he would take you somewhere safe. He watched over you, and when you started showing unordinary attributes, he came to the faulty conclusion that you were an elf. When you kept getting more powerful, he came up with the story of your 'experimental genes', when in reality, you are probably one of the closest thing to a god as you can get.
"Poseidon and a daughter of Athena are your parents." He concluded.
I took in a sharp breath. No wonder I could hold my breath for so long. No wonder I had a photographic memory. It all made so much sense.
"So I'm not an elf?" I asked, flashbacking to earlier that day.
"Honestly? No."
His words felt like a punch to the stomach. I stumbled towards the door, longing for fresh air. He luckily didn't stop me. I ran to Annabeth and Percy and collapsed. The world was falling apart. I needed a hug really badly. Annabeth helped me up, already knowing what was wrong since Percy had told her.
Suddenly, off in the distance, was a bell tolling.
They led me to the dining hall where I almost forgot all about my worries. The smell of delicious food filled my nose and my mouth watered. I piled food on my plate and dumped some in the fire. I followed Percy and sat next to him. I watched as he lifted his goblet. "Blue Coke, please," he said to no one in particular. I almost laughed until his goblet filled with a dark blue liquid. I nodded, quite impressed. I chatted with him, mostly talking about Annabeth, which seemed like one of his favorite things to do.
The sound of talking died down as people began to file out. I decided to turn in for the night, so Percy led me to our cabin. Percy seemed like a pretty good half brother already. I climbed onto a bunk bed, and drifted off to sleep.
