LOST LIVES (PART ONE)

WHEN SAKU RETURNED TO Craigsville, he found himself surrounded by magic. Kaagad niyang kinuha ang kanyang cellphone niya and also, the caller ID was included, L. A. V.

"Hello there, my favorite human toy. Isang rason naman kung bakit ako tumawag sa 'yo. I want you to solve a case for me." Of course, he can't return here without a strategy. Since the judgment day is approaching, he has to guarantee that everything is in order.

[Have you ever been told how incredibly manipulative you are? May klase ako! Nasa laboratory ako. Ano na namang laro 'to Saku?] 

Saku could detect how irritated she was, and whether she was being sarcastic or simply lacking in emotions. And maybe all of them. The woman he's currently phoning is a detective. Maybe that's what he knows. And she's usually in 221 B, Kalayaan kaya alam niya na ang kaibigan niyang 'yon ay mahahagilap do'n.

Somewhere in the Street Luna Residences. In Malate.

"This isn't a game. I'm serious, Raine."

[Ikaw pa? Impossible, brad. Do you recall how I played straight into your hands as your detective to crack those ridiculous cases in Craigsville? Hmm?]

He closed his eyes, and all he could see was how many lives would be taken that day. Mismo sa araw na 'to.

June 14th is always on his mind at kung ano nga ba ang mangaganap dito. There are large windows everywhere, rumbling thunder, and a large number of dead bodies in front of him. It was something he preferred to avoid. That premonition.

This woman definitely tests his capacity at times.

"Raine, please listen carefully. Today, I'll be assigned as a murderer, and I'd like you to help me uncover pieces in this murder case. Two—no, two girls and a boy will come to you instead of me, so please help them."

On the phone, Raine simply chuckled to relieve their tension. Saku's a shady character; no one can tell if he's  attempting to do good or not.  And he assured that no one could read his emotions. Bukod pa rito, walang sinuman ang maaaring malaman kung sino siya. It would be messed up if she knew.

[Alam na alam mo talagang makipaglaro noh? Okay, send them in. Siguraduhin kong malulutas ko ang iyong kaso. You have my word, Saku.]

They were just talking on the phone, but he knows she was also playing this game based on how many taps she had on the table and what he heard on the other end of the line.

At sigurado siya sa kanya.Well, she's one of the humans he enjoys playing with. When did he get so close to Raine and become her friend? Well, there's one. On a ship.

He was a freshmen, and he was invited in a party. Si Saku ay nagpagpag ng kanyang kamay sa isang cr dahil sa dumi nito, at nagulat na lang siya nang tinuro siya ng isang babae nang lumabas siya.

"He's a medical student."

"Hmm?" Napatigil lang siya sa sinabi ng babae at tila naguluhan. Lumapit siya sa kanya at ngumiti at sinabing, "Ako ba ang pinag-uusapan ninyo?"

"Yeah. Just assuming you're a medical student."

"Sige, paano?"

"You're someone who's truly interested books and notes, and from what I can see in your hands at ang pagdadala ng mabibigat na libro mo ay natural na sa'yo.

"Your scents, it smelt like you've always been through a lab, dahil na rin siguro sa mga chemical na nahawa sa damit mo. And as you looked at the wine, you appeared to be immersed in thought, as if you were a pharmacy student. And you appeared to be staring at your watch; was this related to your studies?"

"Hoy! Nakakahiya ka! Pasensya na sa kanya, Kuya," bulyaw ng isang lalaki habang hawak ang buhok niya.

He was impressed. Saku smiled quickly at this small human girl and placed his fingers on his chin. She has the wits, he must say. And he clearly took note of everything the girl had just stated.

"That's impressive, uh miss—"

"Lorraine De Verra,"

At dinner, he chose to get to know this person and loved communicating with his little pawn here. And because this is a gamble, he might as well have done this. Because she will be the final piece once judgment day arrives.

He turned off my phone, and Rino began to sprint towards him at tsaka 'to lumapit sa kanya, "Kuya."

SAKU WASN'T BOTHERED to say anything else about it. He knew the day would come. The judgment day is today, and even he can't stop what's going to happen. And here's where the betrayal ends. Remembering all of his pain seems like a fire inside of him.

"Rino..."

Saku stared at his brother at lumapit ito sa kanya, at mahigpit na niyakap niya 'to. He moved his arms at marahang ipinikit niya ang kanyang mga mata at niyakap ang kanyang kapatid. 'Di niya alam kung kailan niya ulit 'to makikita, and he simply had to do this.

"Tandaan mo lagi, mahal na mahal ka ni Kuya. Thank you for accepting who I am kahit ang dami kong pagkukulang sa 'yo. I apologize for not acting up like a brother as I should have."

Whatever is done gets done. He had to go. It was something he had never done before and needed a great deal of patience. 'Di niya naman 'to ginagawa dati.

"You better be safe, Rino," he said, taking a short breath, patting his hair softly, and slowly turning away.

"Saku? Wait!"Sigaw ni Rino and he clasped his jaws, unaware of what type of conversation that was. "Kuya!"

Shortly after, he simply picked up his bag, and to his disbelief his professor yelled out to him, "Mr. Allard,"

Wala siyang nagawa kundi ang sumunod sa kanya. Marami rin siyang pagkukulang sa klase dahil inuuna niya ang kapakanan ng ibang tao kaysa sa kanya.
"Ma'am, ano po 'to?"

"I have noticed your grades lately, iho. And to be honest, that bothers me. Ang sipag mo pa namang bata. Kaya nga nag-aalala ako sa nangyari sayo. Have you got any problems, iho? Problema sa pamilya? O baka naman sa kaibigan? You can contact me, iho. It's our responsibility as teachers to let you students know that they're not alone in their silent battles."paalala nito sa kanya.

His eyes were filled with regret, and he couldn't bear to look into his professor's gaze. Dahil simula no'n tinitiis na niya lahat ng problema niya. At wala siyang inintindi kundi sarilinin na lamang ang lahat.

"I'll just do my exams..."

He took out his pen and took a couple sheets from his written tests.

He took exams in Pharmacology, Biopharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics, as well as Pharmacy Research Methods with Pharmaceutical Statistics.

Those are quite simple for him, especially given that Saku normally spends his time in the library, dealing with piles of documents, drinking coffee, and being completely absorbed in his studies. He's quite the nerd, you see.

Life as a pharmacy student isn't as easy as you may believe. Hands-on experiences are essential, including laboratory work and clinical rotations. The curriculum is difficult, often demanding long hours of studying and group work.

Suddenly, a flash shoved across his face, and his mouth formed a hiss when he spotted Andri. Can't tell if he's a friend or not. Saku definitely hated it.

"Alam mo ba ang ginagawa mo, ha!? Si Mrs  San Diego is almost 30 years old, Fuck! 'Di ako tanga para pumatol sa kanya," Giit nito

"So what?"

Isang ngiti lang ang nakuha niya mula kay Andri. Dahan-dahan niyang isinara ang kamay niya. At kung tatanungin mo siya, he's filled with so much fire that it's about to burst at any moment.

And seeing him right now makes him want to punch him square in the face. He had dealt with his jealousy, but bringing it up with his professor was just too much.

Oh, please. Allow him to have deeper patience.

That is why Saku disliked the thought of being friends with them. Wala naman siyang choice kaya naman napilitan siyang sumama sa grupong 'to. Kundi lang dahil sa scholarship, hindi 'to mangyayari. He was wrong. There's no way to correct them anymore.

"H'wag mo akong tinatawag na dude,"

"Come on we're friends—"

Saku scowled at him. He was furiously angry. His brow furrowed, and he clenched his jaws while gripping his fist. He always understood how bad Andri is; he's just a toy who responds to anything Lyrica says to him.

He's always been like that. He knows his girlfriend has feelings for him, which is why he wants him out of his sight.

But, because he stayed here long enough to irritate him, he should finish what he started. Saku gave him a nasty smile before lowering his two buttons and smirking.

"Come on, Amethyst having feelings for me isn't my problem. I mean, I'm that handsome, right? Compared to you."He smiled at him.

"Andri,"He called.

Lumapit si Saku sa kanya at hinampas na lang ang siya sa dingding. Pero 'di siya inaasahan ni Andri at tinitigan siya nito ng masama. Ibang-iba siya sa inaakala nilang utusan. Is this his true objective?

"This won't be too long," he said with a sneaky grin and a cheek tap. "Since you'll die nonetheless."
