"Breaking news! Six corpses of teenagers were found here today at Madison Bay. According to the authorities, all the victims' bodies had numbers on their wrists, as well as strange taser-like devices on their necks. Bruises covered almost their entire bodies, and burn marks were present in their temples. All of these teenagers wore all-white clothing. Police are trying to figure out what the numbers on their wrists refer to, and are now doing background checks on the victims in order to contact their families. This is the first time this type of incident was reported here in Madison Bay. Gretchen Bailey, LNC News.", the reporter narrated. All eyes were on the screen, faces with a mixture of horror and anger.

"It's Strucker. No doubt.", Kara piped up, causing a few heads to look her way. "He's abducting those kids and experimenting on them."

"But why are they dead?", Rhodey asked. "Their bodies must not be compatible with the serum they injected.", she replied, fiddling with her fingers. Loki leaned closer to her and rubbed her back.

Steve let out a heavy sigh. Kara noticed the small bandage on his right eyebrow. "We're losing time. We need to get Blaire to tell us where Strucker's base is now.", he stated, standing up abruptly. "Cap's right. The longer we wait around, the more bodies start showing up everywhere.", Sam asserted.

"But that's the problem. We can't get her to talk. She's acting all stubborn and sarcastic.", Tony responded, crossing his arms. His phone suddenly rang, so he checked the caller ID to see who it was. "It's Pepper. I gotta take this." With that, he excused himself from the group.

"Why don't  I try?", Kara suggested, eyes darting from one team member to the next. "Out of the people in this room, I could say I know her better."

"Can you? Won't she be too much?", Nat asked, concern lacing her tone. Kara smiled at her friend. "You underestimate me, Nat. I knocked her out, remember?"

"Ehem.", a cough butted in, causing Kara to roll her eyes. She glanced at the god beside her, only to see him puffing his chest out and flicking his hair back. "Okay, fine. He did. But I fought back, duh." Loki grinned at this.

"I don't know. What do you think, Cap?", the redhead asked, her focus now on the super-soldier. At the sound of his name, Kara began to fidget again. Her hands started to grow restless, moving around and around. The God of Mischief was beginning to get distracted, but at the same time, he could sense the tension that was currently in the air. With one look at the woman beside him, he took her hand in his and rubbed the back of it with his thumb.

Not only did this stop Kara's actions immediately, but a blush also crept its way to her cheeks. She bit her lip to prevent herself from breaking out into a grin.

All this happened in front of Steve, and oh, did Loki make it more than obvious to him.

Steve internally rolled his eyes, and with a stern look on his face, merely nodded in response. He left the living room without saying another word. Nat and Kara exchanged glances at this, both with raised eyebrows. The spy stood up and proceeded to follow Steve, winking at her before she exited.

"What was that all about?", Loki asked, his eyebrows furrowed together. Kara gave him a weird glance, but then laughed at him. "Girl language. You wouldn't understand."

"Hmmm.", he merely hummed in response, not buying it. The brunette rolled her eyes and pecked him on the lips. "Quit your whining and follow me to the interrogation room." As she grabbed Loki's hand, she failed to see the wide grin plastered on the prince's face at her little action.

As they approached the room, Loki quickly let go of Kara's hand and proceeded towards the door. The woman seemed puzzled and half-disappointed at this, but those emotions faded away the instant she saw the god opening the door and holding it open for her.

"Is that a blush I see?", he teased, studying her features. Kara rolled her eyes in exaggeration, bumping his shoulder as she passed. Loki feigned hurt, clutching his chest as she walked inside. "What, no thank you? I thought Midgardians had manners-" He was silence by a kiss on the cheek. "Shut up, drama queen."

Their eyes landed on the woman who had her hands cuffed to the table. Only a one-way mirror separated the three of them.

As Kara focused her gaze on her former friend, her vision became clouded with the memories she had with her in that hell hole Strucker calls their "home". She felt tears brimming her eyes at the sight of Blaire sleeping calmly.

Loki noticed this, of course, and entwined his fingers with hers once more. "Are you sure you do not want my company whilst inside?" She simply smiled in response, shaking her head slightly.

"Trust me." The God of Mischief nodded, squeezing her hand one last time before allowinh her to enter the room.

The door squeaked as it opened, causing Blaire to open her eyes abruptly. She instantly shut them due to the extremely blinding lights, but tried to make out who just entered the room she was in.

"Wilbur, if you're here to annoy me again, I'll personally strangle- oh. It's you.", Blaire's mocking tone dropped when her eyes finally adjusted to the light, seeing Kara in front of her clearly.

"Nice to see you, too.", the brunette retorted, pulling up a chair and sitting on it. Blaire sat straight up, attempting to cross her arms over her chest, but was restrained by the chains. She rolled her eyes and set them down on the table.

"You finally come to see me. What can I do for you, Your Sh*ttiness?", she sassed, cocking an eyebrow. Kara let out an unamused laugh, then put on a stern look on her face.

"Where's Strucker right now?" Blaire exhaled chilling laugh, enough to make Loki lean in towards the glass to eye her.

"That's it? That's your plan? Asking me and thinking I would tell you crap?", she asked incredulously, shaking her head. "Where is he?", Kara inquired again through gritted teeth.

"Aw, is someone getting mad?", Blaire mocked. Loki felt his fists balling up. "Let me in there.", he said through the earpiece. Kara shook her head in response.

"I know you didn't want this, Blaire.", Kara continued, eyes softening a bit. "You're damn right I didn't want this, b*tch."

The brunette gulped down her irritation and sighed heavily. "Which is why I need you to help me bring him down."

"Wow, Kara's a superhero now, huh? It's funny how just almost a month ago, you were Strucker's favorite.", Blaire spat, glaring at the woman in front of her.

"I made a mistake, Blaire! Don't you think I f**king know that?", Kara yelled, standing up so swift that her chair fell down. She had slammed her fists on the table, her face growing red with anger.

"Well, too bad admitting your f**king mistake won't bring me my life back, huh?", the other woman replied, voice cracking slightly. "On top of that, you had no f**king decency, leaving me behind with that... that monster!", Blaire added, tone rising.

"You said you would come back for me! You said you'll break me out of there. But what did you f**king do? Get back with your f**king ex!", she cried out, tears now falling from her face.

"That's not what happened, Blaire-"

"Oh, yeah? Well, do enlighten me, you b*tch!", Blaire screamed, advancing towards her. Kara took a step back, but then realized that her friend wasn't going anywhere with those chains on her.

"I was trying to find a cure for us! That's why I left!", Kara explained, pulling on her hair. Loki cooed through the earpiece, trying to calm her down.

"BUT YOU NEVER CAME BACK!", Blaire interjected. "You know what I had to endure when you escaped?", she added, silencing Kara. "Ask me."

Kara didn't speak. "Ask me what he did to me."

"Don't, Kara. Get out of there now.", the prince warned. "She's manipulating you psychologically." As she heard these words, Kara stared at her friend one more time before turning around and walking towards the door.

"He used me.", Blaire breathed out, making Kara and Loki stop in their tracks. "Over and over and over again."

Kara felt the color draining from her face. "And you know who I blame, Kara?", Blaire inquired, eyes boring into her skull.

"You."

The sound of the door opening cut their conversation short, and Blaire now had a full view of the raven-haired god. The woman smiled at him wickedly. "Ah, the God of Lies. I'd like to see how your relationship would work out."

Without another word, the brunette stormed out of the room, the waterworks threatening to start. Loki glared at Blaire, who merely flipped him off.

"Calm down now, darling.", the prince whispered, caressing her back repeatedly. Kara was trembling, her bloodshot eyes open wide, staring into the distance.

"It's not your fault, love." Kara scoffed. "That's what I've been trying to convince myself for past hour, Loki."

The god sighed, resting his hands on his lap. A knock interrupted them from their talk. Before Loki could tell the person to leave, in came his big brother with a concerned look on his face.

"I don't recall letting you in.", Loki muttered, squinting his eyes. The blond prince ignored his remark, and crouched in front of Kara. "Lady Kara?", he asked softly, afraid she would break like she was some sort of fragile figurine.

Kara remained silent, looking up at the god questioningly. "I had heard what happened.", Thor added, eyes flickering from her and to Loki. "That must have been the longest time one of us has been there with that mortal.", he continued.

"Did she say anything?", Thor inquired, to which Kara shook her head at. The god sighed, but never dropped the look of worry on his face. "She must've said some mean things to you."

"Obviously.", Loki sassed, his eyes rolling to the back of his head. Thor glared at his brother before turning his attention back on Kara.

"Don't ever go back in there alone, alright? Bring one of us with you, Loki if you prefer.", Thor stated. Kara smiled a bit, nodding her head. "I will. Thank you."

It was Thor's turn to smile. "All right. Loki, be good.", he mused, pointing a finger at the younger god. Kara chuckled at this. "That's gonna be a task." Loki raised an eyebrow and gave her a playful pinch.

"I best be going. I merely wanted to check on you both.", Thor said, standing up and leaving the room. Loki let out a groan of exasperation when his brother didn't bother closing the door. He stood up and shut it rather roughly.

"Thor's a sweetheart.", Kara commented, straightening the sheets Loki just sat on. She didn't notice the offended look the god was shooting at her at the statement.

"Why would you say that?", he asked in irritation. The brunette instantly recognized the change in his tone, and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Here we go again."

"So, by sweetheart, you prefer him over me now? Is that it? How come you don't call ME sweetheart, hmm? After all the flirting I've done, this is what I-", he was cut short by a pair of arms flinging around his neck and pulling him down.

"Change my mind then.", she challenged, a smirk on her face. Loki immediately grinned mischievously at her words, leaning down so their faces were centimeters away from each other.

"As you please, my love."

The night breeze brushed against Kara's skin as she lay down peacefully on Loki's bed, the sheets draped on her. For some reason, the God of Mischief couldn't sleep. Thoughts of Kara and Blaire's conversation replaying in his head.

He kept wondering how Blaire ended up with Strucker, and how she blames Kara for it. Loki had wanted to ask her numerous times, but was afraid he would trigger her PTSD.

As his mind kept being flooded with thoughts, his eyes wandered over the woman beside him. Beautiful would be an understating her appearance to him at the moment. It always soothed him when he watched her in this state, seeming ever so peaceful and calm.

"You're ethereal.", he muttered, grazing a finger over her cheek. His eyes widened when Kara shuffled in her position, but she soon stopped moving and began snoring softly. He smiled at this, sitting up to plant a kiss on her lips.

As he sat back up, he heard a loud thump outside. Alarmed, Loki cautiously got out of bed to check what it was.

He roamed the floor for anything suspicious. It was eerily quiet, and only a few lights remained on. Loki was just about to shrug it off when he heard the sound again.

"What is that?", he asked himself, searching around. As he walked further away, from the corner of his eyes, he could see a figure standing in the balcony.

Loki's head turned quicker than he anticipated, wary of the person. He could make out red hair.

Long, wavy, red hair.

The woman was about to jump when Loki grabbed her hand and pulled her down, making both of them land on the floor with a thud. He groaned at the harsh contact, and looked at the person he just saved.

He couldn't believe his eyes.

"Wa-Wanda?"

Kara was slightly woken from her slumber, blinkinh several times. She had wanted to get up and head to the kitchen for something to eat, but drowsiness took over her, causing her eyelids to fall back shut.

The brunette felt the bed, expecting a body next to her. She was confused to find the bed empty, but was too sleepy to question where Loki was at the moment.

"Must be in the *yawn* bathroom. ", she muttered under her breath, drifting back to sleep.
