Chapter 12

Almost two weeks had passed. Both Taeyong and Nara was growing closer to each other as they hung out more and she also felt close with his friends as she had hung out with them a lot too.

Taeyong was slowly going back to his usual self. His hilarious and kind self was slowly making a comeback again and everyone was so glad to notice that. He smiled more, laughed more. He was genuinely very happy to have Nara by his side, even though just as a friend. Taeyong no longer bullied or raised ruckus's in the classroom but he cannot bring himself to study well like he used to. He isn't able to figure out why yet although he tries his best. His friends also stopped being the big bullies and started afresh by being obedient students who respects teachers and attend all the classes on time. Lucas still ends up being late to some classes though.

The feelings Nara had developed for Taeyong previously was coming back again. It was coming back and Nara no longer felt insecure about it because Taeyong gives her high hopes. She had overheard Jaehyun and Lucas talk about Taeyong liking her and she couldn't sleep well that night.

They both likes each other, behaves as if they are a couple at times and yet they still haven't came across the right time to confess. Hanging out as close friends but doing small things that lets others notice that they like each other makes everyone think as if they are dating.

"Who's that?" Nara peeked at Taeyong's phone screen as he typed a text message. "Yejung" He simply replied, hitting the send button and putting his mobile back into his pocket. Both of them were walking on the chaos hallway of the school, making there way to the school canteen as it was recess time. "Yejung? Who's that?" Nara's curiosity made her ask the question right away as she had never heard the name before. "She's a childhood friend but we separated in a lot of ways when we both graduated middle school. I stayed back here to continue high school while her parents enrolled her into another school. We both don't really hangout a lot after that but we hung out recently and I'd say it didn't go well. I don't feel that close to her anymore and this is the first time she texted me after that day." Taeyong gave a brief explanation which made Nara nod her head slowly in response.

"What did she say though?" -Nara

"Nothing much, Just that she fought with her best friend Akira. She's all whiny about it and wants to meet me. Also, I ain't really mad at her anymore. I guess we misunderstood a lot of stuff that day and I'll solve it when I meet her." -Taeyong

"Oh? but you just said you don't feel that close to her anymore." -Nara

"Yeah, clearing misunderstandings doesn't mean that I suddenly feel close to her right? I mean, I don't think I can go back to how I was with her because she has changed and all." -Taeyong

"Changed?" -Nara

"Why are you asking so many questions today? Are you okay?" Taeyong ruffled her hair and chuckled before walking ahead of her, to quickly make himself stand in the long queue. "Did he just ignore my question? Wow I just got ignored. He is so confused about her I can totally see that. I should see this Yejung one day." Nara talked to herself and stopped as soon as she finally stood next to him on the queue.

------------

"There you go again. When will you ever listen to us?!" Chittapon was in utmost disappointment to hear Taeyong say that he was going to meet up with Yejung in 15 minutes. All his other friends sighed in annoyance, face palming as well. ""Yah! She is literally the devil." Yuta tried to stop Taeyong as he tied his shoelaces. "I'll just clear the misunderstandings and make her message Akira, saying sorry for whatever she has done because this always happens and Yejung is the one who causes the fuss between them. I'll come back home right away I swear." Taeyong said, which made them sigh more louder. He really won't change his mind. Taeyong is just too kind to the point he becomes naive and ends up in stupid traps at times. "Nara will be here in a while and she'd obviously question why you aren't here." Yuta was almost screaming at this point. "Look. It's my house and I gave you permission to hang out even if I am not here. I let you guys know the password because this apartment is like a hangout zone for us and I really like it that way. So even if I am not here you guys can still continue." Taeyong spoke, his face was expressionless. "That's not the point. Don't you like Nara? and aren't you both the closest to each other here? Also won't she be curious about where you went when she clearly sent you a text saying she's coming to hangout and you ignored it. Now you are leaving and she's going to be more frustrated because you ignored her text and went with Yejung." Jaehyun fired, not being able to hold himself back as Taeyong continued to talk back at them even when they are trying to give him good advice.

"I'll be back soon, enjoy!" was all Taeyong said before closing the door and leaving them all in an annoyed mood. He completely ignored Jaehyun's words too.

Just after 10 minutes after Taeyong left, Nara entered the apartment, carrying two huge bags of snacks. "Hello Nara's here!! Also where is Taeyong?" She kept the snacks on the dining table before searching for Taeyong. She looked everywhere as none of the others answered when she asked where he was. "Where is he?" She asked again, worried. "He's not here. He had something very important to do." Jaehyun said, sarcastic enough which made Lucas snicker. "Important meeting with that fucking bitch Yejung." Hearing Yejung's name, Nara's expression switched from worry to sadness within seconds. 'Why am I sad? I shouldn't be, that's his childhood friend.' She thought to herself before faking a smile. "Ohh. That's okayy! So let's enjoy on our own until Taeyong comes." She still tried to sound excited but in reality she wasn't and none of the boys also responded to her. Nara was feeling really sad because Taeyong didn't even answer her text and he just goes like that with Yejung. 'What made him not text me back?' She thought as she took a seat next to Jaehyun, tugging his sleeve. Jaehyun is the only person who knows that she likes Taeyong. "Jaehyun..." She mumbled softly. She was holding back her tears. She was scared, so scared that Yejung might take Taeyong away from her. The fact that he ain't even hers makes her more scared because she cannot claim that he is hers and stop him from dating his childhood friend. "Let's go, come with me." He held her hand and lead her out of the house, to the park in front of the house. Nara sat down on the wooden swing and Jaehyun scooted down in a squatting position in front of her, wiping off the tears that were running down her soft cheeks. "Don't cry." He said softly. "It's nothing to cr-" "But he didn't even even..reply to my..text." She spoke in between her muffled sobs. "I know, I saw. I saw on his phone but Nara don't cry. He'll be back soon. I took you out because I knew you were about to cry. So let's go back when you calm down okay?" Jaehyun patted her head and sat next to her on the swing and swung it slowly. She rested her head on his shoulder as he swung.

"Rock paper scissors!" All five of them screamed as they tried to win the game, to avoid being the one to clean up the mess they created.

"What do you want to eat?" All their attention diverted at the entrance as Taeyong's voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. "I don't want to eat.." Yejung whined, holding onto Taeyong's arms. She had brown, long and straight hair that looked so fluffy and shiny. Her eyes seems swollen a little but she still looks pretty. Her denim fit skirt which had the designs of a few red roses looked branded and expensive. Also, she was wearing a plain white shirt underneath the leather jacket that was loosely hanging over her small shoulders. 'That's probably his jacket..' Nara felt a lump in her throat as she witnessed the sight of her wearing his jacket and holding onto his arm. "But you should eat." Taeyong walked over to check the fridge to find something for Yejung to eat and she followed him from behind, still holding his arm.

Nara was hurt and she felt her hopes crushing down in just seconds. The hope she built up with so much trust, effort and confidence crushed down within a matter of seconds.

"I never thought 5 hours was a short period of time." Chittapon said, annoyance obvious in his voice. "You went at 4pm and you said you'd be home soon. It's past 9pm now and I don't think you are home soon." Yuta rolled his eyes as Taeyong turned to face him, finally giving some attention to his friends. "Oh. I'm sorry I took so long to come home but do you have any food? She didn't even eat out and she didn't wanna go home because she feels lonely."

'Because she feels lonely? Oh.'

"Oh and hey Nara you're here to-" -Taeyong

"I gotta go home, I'm late." -Nara.
