Chapter Twenty Seven › Stag Night: The Guys
Ivy's POV
I huff as I sink into my chair, rubbing the side of my forehead in circles. In other words, I was exhausted. Totally zonked by the night I had last night.
Yeah, that included some heavy lifting of Benedict. After he fell asleep in front of me, I dragged him out of the back door and made sure he got home.
Worst party ever.
Then I thought about what he said to me.
But, I thought it was the drink talking. Men always do that.
Oh and Emily made me my bath as soon as I came through that door.
Surprised she was still awake on a school night though...
Knock knock!" Lucy opened the door and squealed. "I'm so glad you're okay!" She ran up to me and thee her arms around my neck.
"I'm..." I heaved for breath. "... fine. You're, hurting me..."
"Oh!" Lucy gasped and let go. "Sorry." I smirked and she bowed her head. "How was... yesterday?" Sighing, I turned around and sank back into my chair. "That bad?"
"Well, I think you'll find out as soon as Benedict walks through the door."
"Why?" Lucy bites her lip. "Did you two-"
"No."
"Hickey-"
"No!" I shook my head. "No, no. Please... God..." Swallowing, I got up for no reason.
"Are you-"
"Yes, I am-" I clenched my teeth. "-sure!" Bloody hell.
Why, would... no. "I need to go and photocopy some..." I take out a few sheets from my bad. "... sheets. Be back in a bit." I make my way towards the door.
"Well, you can tell me all about it tonight." Pausing, I frown.
"What... what's happening tonight?" Lucy takes a deep breath.
"Stag night!" She cries out.
"No."
"Oh come on!" I walk out of the door, Lucy following me. "Please!"
"I can't. I want to spend some time Emily and no."
"Bring her-"
"Uh uh. No. She is how old and you want her to come, no." I say, angrily.
"Sorry..." I sigh.
"I'm sorry too. I didn't mean to-" I bang the photocopier, "Goddamit!" Taking a deep breath, I bow my head.
I feel Lucy's hand touch my back.
"Hey... you seem tense, what's up?"
"Nothing." I place the papers into it and scan them.
"Urgh..." I hear and turn my head.
"I told you." I whisper to Lucy. "You're late." I say, placing the next sheet in.
"Sorry, I... bad night..."
"Yeah." I scoff.
"Wait-" Benedict narrows his eyes and ruffled his hair. "-you know...?"
"Oh, I know."
"I'll leave you two." Lucy moves her mouth to my ear. "Tonight, at nine. I'll call a babysitter." I fake a smile and Lucy walks away.
"So, you... can you tell me?"
"I don't think you wanna hear it." I pick up the copied papers and press them against my chest.
"I want to." I extend my arm.
"Step into my office..." He walks past me and scratches his head.
You have no idea how a complete moron he looked.
Scruffy hair, bagged eyes and groaning.
Three after effects of a hangover.
How could he not see that?
Well, I was about to tell him that...
Benedict's POV
"Damn." Tom balanced two big cups of beer in his hands.
"I know." We sat down at a table and I buried my head into my head. "Ergh, I can't believe that 'I like you' would come out of my mouth."
"Hahaha..." Tom laughed and I lifted an eyebrow. "Ha..." He cleared his throat.
"Don't..."
"Do you though..." Tom sipped at the foam. "... like her?"
"I don't love her, she is my boss."
"Ben." He placed his hand onto my shoulder. "I didn't say love." I groaned.
"Hey guys!" Jensen appeared in front of us.
"Hey Jensen. This is Tom."
"Hiddleston?" Tom smiles.
"Yeah, hello, Jensen. Supernatural, great show."
"Thanks." He brought forward a rather tall guy, he had long hair. "This is Jared."
"Hi." He shakes our hands.
"Hello."
"Well, Jensen, shall I grab a round of beers?"
"Yeah sure!"
"Not us." Tom lifted his glass.
"Alright, two beers." Jared had moved away from us and I lay back.
"Gettin' the girl yet?"
"No." Tom chuckles and I gave him the death glare. "Alright Detective."
"Is that a yes?"
"Please this isn't my night Jensen, it is yours. Can't we talk about you?" He shook his head.
"Nah."
"Please come on."
"So you love her? Or you just being friendly."
"Yes." I murmur. Oh no, I said it again.
"Why can't you tell her that?" Tom asks, leaning back.
"Because!" I shout and breathe in. "Because... years ago... I knew her and it ended with a kid being born."
I knew that the DNA test would only confirm it.
My gut told me I was Emily's Father.
And I wanted to be part of her life.
For the rest of my life.
