Chapter 24. Pushing

'Traitor!'

I could've expected that reaction from my brother once I filled him in on his serious the situation had been last night.'You fucked up, Sideswipe. What was I supposed to do? At least I can fill you in on how she's doing.' My brother bristled, his doorwings tucking in tightly. 'This is ridiculous! She's my mate. Can't you talk to her on taking me back?' I snorted. 'You think it's that easy after ruining her relationship? She's upset and you should've waited.'
'I couldn't let her do it. Not with a human male, not with him in particular.' Steam emerged from his nose and I could feel the aggression on his behalf. It's so unlike my twin. Sideswipe rarely gets this furious. Luckily, in my advantage, he's mad at himself and the human male.

'You know, why don't you give her some space to come around? I'll keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't wind up dead or feels scared. You know you can leave the front door wide open and no one would even consider stepping over the threshold. I have enough weapons to send the entire neighborhood sky high.' Sideswipe's optics darkened, gleaming with a lethal glint. Just a small reminder of what was left from the gladiator within and how many lives he had taken on the battlefields and arena's. I guess my brother still has some of it left, tucked away, hidden from everyone. Sideswipe barely showed his gladiator side.

'Alright...' His doorwings flared. I doubt he even realized how much they were moving, considered the lack of control he has over them. 'She's at the base now, I can smell her rose shampoo and body lotion.'
'Leave her alone. She hasn't gone to Optimus yet, don't make her reconsider it.' My brother growled and glared at some passing soldiers. 'Make sure she stays out of the way of every male. Excluding you.' I rolled my optics and straightened my back. 'Sure, then you don't anything stupid!' I gave him a pointed look but he flicked me away.
I transformed and drove off before he could bother me with more nonsense. If he does something stupid, I let Ironhide deal with it.

Katie was working. She still looked like shit. I had no idea why she even decided to come in today. Facing Nate at the campus was a no-go, instead she asked Prowl if she could come for an extra day. Prowl never would've turned that down. I grabbed a chair and flipped it so I could straddle it. Katie's eyes flicked towards me. 'You look like shit.'
She snorted and kept typing furiously. As if that would help take away the anger. 'You haven't spoken to Prime yet.'

'No, I haven't. If you keep talking about it, I might will.'

'I don't really care what you do. It's not my responsibility to look after you nor do I care if you break your friendship with my brother.' She stopped typing. 'You're cold.' I shrugged and smirked. 'You're going to be mad at my brother forever? Sure, go ahead. Not my problem. As long as I don't have to play messenger. If you want to bang his processors out... be my guest. It's not my business and never will be either.'

Her cheeks heated up. 'Be happy I told him to give you space. Don't make me regret doing this.' I hoisted myself up. And flipped the chair back. 'He's an alphahole, that's what he is.' I snorted at her grumpy statement. 'I warned you.' She flicked me off and went back to work. I had some work laying around as well.

Sideswipe eventually searched for me when I was helping Ironhide unload the truck with new weapons. 'Bro...' I groaned at the tune. A mixture if boredom and annoyance. Never a good combo. 'I'm working. Whatever you have to complain about... not now.' I turned away. 'I miss her.'
I groaned. 'I said: not now!' It's been almost two whole hours since last time I spoke to him.

((Sideswipe's P.O.V))
My brother didn't pay any attention to me. Fragger. I turned away and left Ironhide and Sunstreaker beforehand the old timer would ask me for help. Katie's smell lingered through the hallway. She had recently been here; probably for her daily rounds. I followed it and an elevator ride and two hallways later, I saw her talking to one of the higher ranked soldiers. My chest tightened. I wish I could drag her in the nearest closet and show her exactly how much I loved her,— roam my hands over her delicate, slim body.

If she had seen me, she didn't let on. Her eyes remained fixed on the male in front of her. I snorted. Her eyes should be fixed on me and me alone. I followed as she walked off. No doubt she has seen me. I took a turn, following that delicious scent. Does she really think she can outsmart me by fleeing into the ladies restroom? Am I going to wait or not? My brother was clear. Give her space. That was the order. I wouldn't be myself if I would ignore it and push the limits. I walked in and saw her sitting against the bathroom wall. Eating what seemed to be a chocolate bar. It means she stressed and upset. On her lap lay a case file. The one she got from that soldier. 'Get out!' I shut the door as my answer. She took another bite and ignored me.

I walked up to her and crouched down, grabbing her jaw. Her eyes were watery. 'What the hell are you doing!' she pushed me away. Her voice sharpened. 'I told you we are done!' I snorted. 'I'm the most important person in your life, sweetheart.' She glared. 'Stop calling me that!' Gosh I loved that temper. People don't get to see it often. 'I call you whatever I want to call you.' She ground her teeth. Even she couldn't tell me what to do. 'You're pig-headed!' She hoisted herself up. 'You're not my guardian anymore!'

'According to my twin, you haven't told Prime yet.'

She ignored my cocky statement and bristled. 'You ruined my relationship! I don't want you!' I trapped her between the wall and my body. 'Are you really sure about that?' She growled. My hands ached to touch her but not without her consent. 'At least I would've treated you with respect.' She glared. 'Nate did too! You're the one throwing an alphahole fit at me every time I even mentioned the world sex!' I slammed my first against the tiles behind her,— breaking them. 'Because I'm supposed to be your first.' Katie's eyes widened and heat rose to her cheeks. I loved the sight and smell of it.

'Who says I haven't already done it?'

I chuckled wickedly. 'I would've smelled it, sweetheart.' She blushed again. She laid her on my chest and shoves me away. 'Get away from me.' I shuddered at the delightful touch. 'Are you sure that's what you want?' She gulped. 'I smell... a lot of mixed emotions. Let's work them out.' She snorted and passed me. 'There's nothing to work out,' she snarled and left.
