Chapter 12. Secrets
I hadn't told Sideswipe everything anymore after that horrible night. He did ask, but simply answered and waved it off. It took me a couple of days to convince Nathan Sideswipe is the way he is because he's worried. Nathan was willingly to give me a second change but I left Sideswipe completely out of it. The devil himself sat in front of me while I wrapped up some work for today. 'Shall we go the cinema?' I glanced at him and watched him grab some cables. 'Well, if you unplug my computer the answer is definitely no.' He stopped and turned his head back towards me. 'There's a new movie, we should definitely go!'
I had already seen the movie with Nathan the other day. Now I felt bad. He wanted to go to go to this movie with me. He had been talking about it for weeks and I thought that going twice wouldn't be much of a problem, but I kept feeling guilt. 'Sure, why not.' He jumped up. 'Sweet! I'm going to ask Mirage to twitch patrols. I'll be right back.' He ran off. I sighed softly and grabbed my phone. Nathan wanted to see me tonight as well. I can't do that to Sideswipe.
Nathan doesn't like seeing me spend time with Sides and Sideswipe doesn't like seeing me spend time with Nathan.
Sideswipe returned ten minutes later. 'Set! We can go.' I switched off the computer and grabbed my jacket. Sideswipe wrapped his arm around my shoulders as he led me to the hangar. 'I was thinking, since last time I couldn't stay over I can stay over this weekend and have a movie marathon.'
He pressed a kiss on the side of my head. 'Friday, we'll be eating sushi, Saturday Pizza and Sunday I will take you out for dinner.' I smiled sheepishly. I already plans with Nathan. 'I'm afraid that this weekend isn't gonna work out honestly.' He cocked a brow. 'Why no?'
'I have exams coming up next week. Maybe next week.'
'I can keep you company. You're not studying all day. You never study all day.'
'This one is really important, Sideswipe.'

'I got three days off for this. This is a life time opportunity for me!' She turned her head away. 'Not this weekend,' she stated. I tried not to glare and tilted my head. A tensed silence fell. She hopped in my alt-mode and buckled up. I smelled her nerves and it made me realize there was more going on. 'Fine... something you want to share with me then?' She turned her head. 'No, I need to study,' she stated. I drove off to the cinema.
She was oddly quiet, as if she wasn't excited to see this movie with me either. 'Everything is alright between us, right?' She glanced at me and nodded. 'Yeah, why wouldn't it be?' She questioned. 'You're acting different. Little bit snarky... I have had a tough week, I just wanted to hang out with my best friend.' She sighed softly. 'Because we are, right?' She nodded. 'Yeah, totally.'
I parked and we hopped out. She wanted to pay so I didn't argue with her about it. 'I asked Prime if I could become your guardian.' She snapped her head back towards. 'Really?' I nodded. She was more shocked than excited. 'Yeah, I mean... I can take that responsibility. Bee can do it so why can't I?' She hummed and nodded. 'Bee is different than you are.' I cocked a brow. 'What's that supposed to mean?'
'Well, he's... more relaxed I guess.' I gave her a look. 'Bee never ruined a date between Sam and Mikaela and you ruined several...' I huffed. 'I'm careful and just for the record... you hate it when I spend time with another femme when you want to hang out with me,' I muttered.
'I never ruined your sex dates.'
I stared at her. 'Never.' She was right and had me cornered. 'Fine, but that doesn't you're not jealous.' She snorted. 'Believe me, I'm not jealous. What you do with your girls is your business and I definitely don't want to be part of that. None of these girls actually replied on your text messages or did anything to satisfy you or make you feel appreciated and loved. That's the only thing that bothers me.'
I bit on my lip while processing her words. 'How many times did I hear stories from you that you had to leave after you finished and had to drive back at night? Or when they hurt your feelings,' she muttered. 'Alright, what would you do to me to make me feel that way?' She perched her head up. 'I don't know... but I wouldn't tell you to piss off in the middle of the night.'
I sucked in a breath. The man scanned our tickets and glanced at Katie. He had definitely seen her before. She had been to this movie already. The man let us pass. She had seen it without me. That hurt my feelings more than all the other times I had been hurt by a girl. 'You haven't seen this movie yet, right?' She shook her head. 'No, we would see it together.'
'Would you be happy if I become your guardian?' She nodded. 'Of course, I mean... we always joke about it but it's a stupid idea. Considered how close we are.' I followed her into the large hall and went upstairs,— taking our seats. 'I'm excited too.'
After the movie I dropped her off at home and headed back to base. I didn't know if I was mad or sad. She lied to me and kept things from me. As soon as I rolled into the base I transformed. 'Was the movie that disappointing?'
I turned my helmet. 'What?' Prowl pointed at my doorwings. 'They're hanging down and twitch, means you're upset. It's something you have been doing since you were a baby.' I rolled my optics and tried to lift them up, but I don't have much control over them as Prowl has.
'She lied to me.' Prowl cocked an optic ridge. 'She said she hadn't seen the movie but she did. She's supposed to be my best friend... you know how close are but now she keeps things from me.' I balled up my servo's into fists. 'Does she know?' I turned my helm. Prowl huffed and lowered his data pad. 'Does she know you love her?' My optics widened. 'I don't love her... we are just friends.'
'I can smell it on you when you're around her and you kissed her. You told Ironhide it was meaningless but it wasn't meaningless to you. I'm not stupid, Sideswipe. You're jealous and it affects your behavior. Why don't you just tell her? Why is it so hard for you? I thought you never had any trouble telling what's on your mind.'
'She's human.'
Prowl shrugged. 'So? She's smaller and organic, but so is your holoform.' I wheeled closer. 'I don't think she wants me. I'm an alien and I don't want to ruin what I have with her.' Prowl huffed and shook his helm. 'You're making assumption. You don't know that for sure. You can be for certain if you asked her and that's all I am going to say because I don't want to talk to you about this.' He waved his servo and disappeared.
