Chapter Thirty Two: The Party Part One

*******Kit's POV*******

"Hey, Kris," I whisper-yelled in her direction. "Come here."

"What's up?" She asked when she'd walked over to me.

"What's a noona?"

Kris stared at me for a moment, then she started to giggle. "What? Who used that word on you?"

"Tae did," I told her. "He told me that he has a 'noona kink', but I have no idea what that means."

Her eyes went wide as she stared at me. "Kim Taehyung told you that he has a noona kink? Seriously?"

"Umm...yes. What does it mean?"

"Did you, by chance, tell him how old you were first?" she asked me. Her eyes were still wide, and I thought that maybe they might pop out of her head like in a cartoon.

"I may have," I said with a shrug. "Why do you ask?"

"Kit...you are literally living so many people's fantasies right now," She says, laughing as she shakes her head.

"I am no less confused," I told her, rolling my eyes. "Give me more words, please."

"You told Kim Taehyung that you're older than he is," she says, as if I don't already know that part. "Then he told you that he has a 'noona kink'. Am I leaving anything out there?"

"Other than an explanation, no." I sighed in frustration. I didn't know what was going on, but she was enjoying this a bit too much.

"You said you were older, and he basically told you that he's into older women."

My jaw dropped and my eyebrows went so high that even Cap'n Crunch would be jealous.

"Say what now?"

"A noona is basically an older female," Kris explains. "So when Taehyung told you that he's into that, he's basically saying that he's into you. Like I said, you're living so many people's fantasies right now."

"Tae is into older women?"

"Umm...he told you that you could call him 'Tae'?" She asks me, and I nod my head. "Seriously. So. Many. Fantasies."

I could feel the blush creeping up my neck as I turned to look for Tae. He was standing by a table full of fruits and snacks, popping a strawberry in his mouth as he watched me. I gave him a little wave and he smiled around the strawberry as he bit into it.

Honestly, it was kind of hot.

Kris nudges my arm with her shoulder, because she's several inches shorter than I am.

"I think that he's into you," she whispers to me.

"Oh come off it," I tell her, rolling my eyes. "I do not have that kind of luck. Besides, he's here to meet his soulmate, and so am I."

"Who says that his soulmate can't be you?"

"I do. Again...I do not have that kind of luck," I say, pulling my eyes away from him to look at my friend. "Seriously. I can't even win at online bingo."

Kris stares up at me. "Do you have a soulmate marking, Kit?"

I hesitate a moment, then slowly nod my head. "I do. But nobody else has ever seen it. It's not normal, and up until now, I thought that I was the only freak in this situation."

"Nope. We're all freaks here," she tells me. "In fact, I'm such a freak that one of my soulmates can barely stand to look at me, and the other one is iffy at best. Plus, one of my soulmate marks is a handprint. On my ass. And the outline of it is made up of his initials over and over again."

"Wow. That's....is there more?"

Kris laughs and shakes her head. "No. That's all. Oh! Wait. No it's not. Did I mention that the handprint mark didn't show up until he hate fucked me against the wall because he said that a bed was too good for me?"

I raised an eyebrow at her. "So what you're saying...is that this whole soulmate thing is going well for you?"

Kris busted up laughing. "Shut up. Mandy was right. You're such a bitch sometimes."

I knew that she meant it in a teasing way, not a mean way.

I turned to smile at her and answer her, but paused when I saw how wide her eyes got as she watched something behind me.

"Uh-oh. Did you see something cute?"

"J-J-J" she tried to say, pointing behind me.

"Use your words, dude," I said, trying to see who she was pointing at.

"J-J-ay. Ikon. Jay. Jay. I-I-Ikon Jay."

"Umm...sure." I really had no idea who that was.

I looked to where she was pointing, and I saw two guys standing there talking. One of them was tall, and the other one was much shorter. At least half a foot shorter, by the looks of it. The taller guy smiled and laughed at something that the shorter one said, and his smile lit up his entire face. He was pretty hot, actually.

"Please tell me that you're flipping out over the shorter one, because I want to find a way to make people vote for me to go on a date with the other one.

"Your version of short and my version of short are not the same thing," Kris told me with a laugh. "But yes, I am talking about the shorter one." She looked at me. "Forgetting about Taehyung already?"

"What? No!" I said a little too quickly. I took a deep breath before I continued. "No. But I don't have any claim over Tae, nor does he with me. We just met, and he's not my soulmate."

"It took me all of 17 seconds after I met Joon in person to realize that he was my soulmate," Kris told me. This was new information to me. I didn't really know the details to anybody's soulmate bonds, yet. "But with Jinnie...it took a lot longer. We hated each other to start with."

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked her, furrowing my brows.

"Because sometimes it takes longer to realize who your soulmate is," she said, shrugging her shoulders as she continued to stare at the guy she called Jay. "It might actually be Taehyung."

I turned away from the two guys who had captured Kris' attention, my eyes scanning the crowd for Taehyung, since he had finally moved away from the strawberries after eating about half of them. I found him talking to two tiny, beautiful, perfect, Korean girls.

Sighing, I turned back towards Kris. Of course that would be his type. They were pretty much everything that I was not.

I looked down at my feet as I answered her. "It's not him. I'm not...his type, I guess."

Kris turned her head to see what Tae was doing, then I swear she growled in the back of her throat. "That little jerk. I'll kill him."

I rolled my eyes at her. "Calm down. He didn't do anything wrong."

"The hell he didn't!" she said, her small hands clenched into fists. "He flirted with my friend, then left her to go do the same with a couple of Ko-"

I shut her up by covering her mouth with my hand. "Don't finish that sentence." I looked back over at Tae and the girls. "Do you know who they are?"

"Ummm...." she cocked her head to the side. "I think maybe two of the girls from BlackPink? Or maybe Twice? I don't really keep up with the girl groups. They're kind of annoying."

I laughed at her. "You're not wrong. I tried to listen to some stuff before I came, so that I would know what I was getting into. I just couldn't take much."

"Hi," a voice said from behind us.

We both spun around at the same time, and I had to reach out to catch Kris as she teetered a little, because I thought she might pass out. I held onto her arms as she tried to steady herself while still staring at the men standing in front of us.

The shorter man was cocking his head to the side as he smiled at Kris. "I'm Jay."

Kris held her hand out towards his outstretched out. "I..mm...K...my...mah...nem...izkl...quiz."

I looked over at her and covered my mouth as I snorted a little, then I hip checked her. She turned to look at me, the back at Jay.

"Aa...muhn...how...tep," she said to Jay.

"Kris, that's an ancient Egyptian king or something, honey," I said, trying to get her to act normal.

"And the character in a really kick-ass film trilogy," the other guy with Jay said.

"I think that one was made up, but it's close," I told him with a shrug.

"Ahh...Oh well," he said, looking down at me. "They ruined the whole franchise by putting Tom Cruise in it, anyway."

"That's what I've been saying!"

He gives me a smile that about knocks me off my feet and holds his hand out towards me. "I'm Jun-Hoe. But most people just call me June."

I smiled back at him as I shook his hand. "I'm Kit."

"Kit? That's an interesting name."

"It's just a nickname, nothing really interesting about it," I tell him as I pull my hand back to my side."

"Is it short for something?"

"Nope. It has nothing to do with my real name," I said with an awkward laugh. I have had this exact conversation more times than I can count.

"So it's not short for Kitchen?"

"Because my parents are super into midnight snacks?" I ask, laughing at him still. "No."

"Or Kitten? Maybe you really like cats?"

"I hate cats, actually," I tell him. "I am more of a dog person."

"Hmmm...." he strokes his chin while thinking, then chuckles and shakes his head. "Nope. I'm out."

"You didn't last anywhere near as long as most people do," I told him with a giggle.

He stares at me, cocking his head to one side, then to the other, his eyes narrowing a bit.

"What?" I ask him, feeling nervous, like he's dissecting me or something.

"Citrine."

I drop my jaw and stare at the beautiful man standing in front of me.

"How did you know that?!"

*********************************************

Public Service Announcement: The real life version of Kris would not act like this if she ever met Ikon. She would be completely calm, cool, and collected. She would not stutter. She would not tremble. She would not speak in Tongues. Even though she slightly freaks out any time somebody even mentions their name.

I hope that she knows how much I love her.

Have some June smiles. I'm pretty sure that his smile could stop traffic from the 93rd floor.
