Intense Cabin Fever
Azure's POV
It had been a week since Adora joined the Rebellion, and I was... still in bed, but still! I was working on rehabilitation, strengthening my leg again, and being able to walk without crutches.
"Ugh, I feel like I'm an old lady." I grumbled as I made my rounds around the room.
"Are you ready for that council today, so glad I don't have to come, this bed has my name written all over it." She said laying down on the cushy bed.
"I could probably skip too, and no one would notice." I said.
My clothes where being washed and patched up, so I wore black shorts with a white trim, and an elbow length charcoal grey shirt. My hair was down and frizzing around my face. I was so sleepy all the time now, and I did not want to do anything but eat chocolate.
"How are you feeling?" I asked Petra as I took my tenth turn around the room.
"I'm feeling like you should save your energy for whatever meeting you're doing." She said, and I rolled my eyes.
The Door opened, and Noah grinned at me.
"You ready for war council?" He asked.
"No, I'm ready for my period." I deadpanned, and walked out of the room, taking my crutches with me.
Petra snickered, as Noah nodded blankly, shutting the door. I walked with my brothers into the war council room, and the only people there where the two princesses we met when we first got here. Spinerella, and Netossa.
"Morning." I greeted and Faust took my crutches as I sat down and leaned them against the table.
Glimmer, Bow, and Adora came in soon after. Adora traced the painting on the wall, before walking over to the table. Glimmer was explaining why the other chairs where empty.
"Except for Spinerella, and Netossa." Bow said and waved at them.
"Hey guys!" He then sighed and whispered to Adora. "We're not really sure what they do." Adora nodded and sat down.
It was the second largest chair, and apparently the most important in the room. Bow's eyes where as wide as baseballs, and Glimmer beckoned Adora, franticly, but wordlessly
Queen Angela entered the room, and upon seeing Adora in the chair, a cold look settled on her face. Adora leaned forward to hear the whispers of warning better.
"What? I don't understand." She whispered back.
Angela pointed down at her and said coldly.
"This is not, your chair."
Adora was pale, and frozen stiff. Glimmer teleported over to Adora and smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry, first day. Won't happen again." With a whoosh of air, Adora sat in the chair next to Glimmer.
"What did I do?" Adora asked worriedly, and Glimmer looked away for a split second.
"You sat in my dad's chair." I looked at the chair, and then a wave of understanding washed over me.
King Micah was one of the first casualties of The Horde, which was why Angela had looked so angry at Adora.
"Oh... Oh! I'm sorry." Adora whispered back.
Angela caressed the chair before turning to us all.
"I've asked you all here because I received a distress call from Perfuma. The Horde has been laying siege to her kingdom. She is asking Bright Moon for assistance. General?" Angela said stepping aside so the general could review the virtual map.
"Perfuma's kingdom, Pulmaria, is located near the front lines. The Horde has set up camp in her territory, cutting off their main supply route." The General said pointing.
"Bright Moon will provide supplies, and humanitarian aid." Angela said with a nod and clasped her hands.
"I have a better idea! We can-" Glimmer said hopping up.
"Fight the Horde?" Angela interrupted looking over at Glimmer.
"Glimmer, you propose this idea every meeting."
Glimmer mad a pfft sound and waved her hand.
"No, I was going to say use aggressive First-to-Face sparkles." Glimmer chuckled nervously.
"I said no Glimmer! Now sit down." Angela said standing up, her wings flaring.
Glimmer sat with a sigh, and Adora looked at Angela, before suggesting a tactic.
"You should send me, Bow, Glimmer and Faust to lead the relief mission." I frowned.
"Hold on, what?" I asked, but no one looked at me.
"Send me as She-Ra. I'll make sure everyone gets there safely, and help protect Bow, and Glimmer if the Horde attacks. I promise I won't disappoint you." Angela cocked a brow before sighing.
"Very well. You will deliver food and supplies to Pulmaria. Under no circumstances will you engage the Horde, you will leave at dawn." She said, and Faust nodded.
I stood up, and Angela nodded at me.
"Your majesty, I have to go, I know healing methods, and can help administer protection, small as it may be." I said firmly.
Angela looked to my right leg, which was still mostly covered in bandage.
"Princess Azure, I'm not sure." I shook my head.
"With all due respect, the Horde took my home, I can't hide while they take the others' anymore." Angela looked at me, then at Faust.
He nodded, and Angela sighed.
"Glimmer, Azure will accompany you."
With a respectful nod we stood, and dissembled...
