A Date With Destiny... And Bow
Azure's POV
I patted down my frizzy hair and looked at it in the mirror. I had decided to let it grow out for now. I was in my bride's maid dress, for a fitting. It was a dark, yet soft cobalt blue color. The skirt was ankle length and was slim. The sleeves were short, and there was a bow in the back. Overall, it was not hideous.
"I like the color." I said, and Petra nodded from her seat next to Noah. Glimmer, and Adora were being fitted into their dresses next to me.
"The color scheme is okay?" Petra asked, holding up the sunflower pins.
"I think it's perfect, and I might steal it for my wedding." I said with an air of cheek. Petra snorted a laugh.
"Sure Azure, you're too unique for uniform." She said, and I bowed.
"Why thank you love."
I got out of the dress and hung it up.
"It fits great, but maybe we should loosen mine in preparation for cake." I teased again, and Noah nodded.
"A minimum of twelve inches would do." I whacked his arms as we walked over to me.
"What kind of cake did you decide on?" Adora asked, as she helped Glimmer get her dress onto the rack.
"Chocolate with vanilla frosting. It'll be decorated with sugar sunflowers, violets, and roses. We might change the center though." Petra said eagerly licking her lips.
"Fancy!" Glimmer squealed.
"Bright Moon weddings are the most extravagant!" She said enthusiastic.
Adora cleared he throat and gestured to the fading light outside.
"Hey, won't Bow be here soon?" She asked, and I bolted over to the closet.
"Oh shoot, I completely lost track of time." I said and plucked out items of clothing.
"I had a whole day planned of hating my outfits." I groaned, and all three girls joined my side.
"Easy." Glimmer grinned and selected a cropped pale-pink sweater, with a high waist black pencil skirt, and my new pair of hiking boots.
"How many pairs of shoes do you have?" Glimmer asked looking around.
"Just the two." I said simply, pulling out a more tattered pair.
"The girls are busy Noah, out you pop." Petra said, pecking her fiancée on the lips Noah left with no more questions, and I got dressed.
Glimmer took over hair, while Adora practiced hairstyles on Petra who felt sir crazy. Glimmer pulled my hair into a half up ponytail hairdo.
"Perfect. Unless Bow is taking you hiking." Glimmer said poking my bare knee. I shook my head.
"He just said dinner." I shrugged, and there was a knock.
"Don't run to the door." Petra instructed quietly and slid into the balcony to give us a tad bit of privacy.
I looked at the door which loomed over me. I gulped and shook myself before opening the door. I was met with a bouquet of daises, white petals, and lemon-yellow centers. Bow was smiling above them.
"Azure, Hi." He said, and I smiled.
"Hello yourself." I said, and he bent down so I could kiss him.
"These are for you." He said handing me the daisies.
I smiled as I breathed in their sent and felt blood rush to my cheeks.
"How did you know? Daisies are my favorite because-" I started but Bow only smiled fondly.
"Because they are the friendliest Flower." He finished for me, and I nodded.
"You spoil me." I smirked, and he nodded as we walked into the hall. He closed the door behind us.
"Where to?" I asked, and he shrugged, nonchalantly taking my hand into his.
"Dinner, then maybe a walk." He said and bowed as he took my hand. I curtsied.
"Sounds divine." I said with cheeky peck on his cheek.
We walked down the halls that had open windows leading outside. Wisteria grew along the stone arches, we stepped into a dining area. There were other people in the room, eating together, but a waiter leads us to a small table with two chairs. I looked around and felt very under dressed. We sat down, and I cast my eyes downward.
"What's wrong?" Bow asked, worriedly.
"Is it too much?" He asked wringing his fingers, and I laughed, reaching over to cup his hands in mine.
"Bow it's amazing, I just feel bad I don't look to fancy." I assured him, and he snorted.
"Azure, you always look fancy, you've got that elegant air about you." He said, and I shook my head.
"Going up those stairs at Princess Prom, I thought I would trip, or possibly throw up I was so nervous." I chuckled, and Bow laughed.
"I'm glad I wasn't the only one, Frosta was intense." He leaned over to whisper. I nodded.
"Ahem." I looked up to see a waiter.
"Are you ready to order?" Bow looked at me before I nodded.
We took a quick glance at the menu, to avoid asking her to come back.
"I'll have the spinach fettuccine." I said quickly, finding the cheapest thing on the menu.
"Ravioli, with spinach, and cheese." He said, and I winked at him. The waiter left, and I smiled.
"You like spinach too?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Yeah, not alone though, it has to be inside something." He admitted, and I nodded.
"I feel you, some food is better hot, screw healthy." I said, and Bow laughed.
"What do you usually eat for Breakfast?" Bow asked as we finished our meal, and I blushed.
"Well, I usually eat four slices of cinnamon raisin toast." I admitted guiltily, and he nodded.
"I usually eat a bowl of cereal, and put extra marshmallows in." He said bashfully.
"That sounds good." I said, and he nodded.
"Ready for that walk?" He asked, taking his last bite, and I nodded.
"Sounds great." I said, reaching into my pocket for my coin pouch. I know people say let the guy pay for it but letting him pay for me made me feel guilty.
"Azure I've got it." Bow said, and slid up a few silver coins, and I nodded.
"I'll cover the tip." He winked, and we stood up.
We wandered in the courtyard, and I held his hand.
"Okay, how about this one... What did the First One's say when they burned breakfast?... its ruined." Bow said, and I burst out laughing, more like cackling.
"I love dad jokes; it was only Noah that made those jokes." I said, and quickly fetched a joke from my memory.
"Two men walk into a bar, the third one ducks..." I said, leaving him to ponder it, but he processed the meaning immediately.
"That's amazing my Dad would love you." He smiled, and I bowed playfully.
"Thank you very much." Bow tickled my side and jumped away with a laugh.
"Bow! Tickling is practically abuse." I laughed, and Bow lunged for me again, but I leapt away.
"Not today!" I squealed, and Bow cackled evilly.
"I'll get you my pretty." He mimicked a witch accent and caught me in his grasp.
"Bow! Stop it, I'm gonna pee!" I teased joyfully, and he set me down, but I just lay in the grass.
Bow lay next to me, and I moved to lay on my side so I could look him in the eye. All sense of humor drained for the air, as we timidly stared at each other. Bow placed a hand on my hip, and I pressed into him, our lips met in a lock, and my eyes fluttered closed. I felt his soft lips move with mine, and his hand on my hip kept me near him.
"I love you Bow." I whispered into the kiss, and he smiled against my lips.
"I love you too Azure..."
