The next day was beyond boring and hazy, nothing prominent happening that was worth remembering; all except that it was Friday and you had the sleepover at Alya's today.

At this point, you were ecstatic to go. Even if Alya was practically a stranger, you just wanted the slightest bit of excitement to let go all this built up stress from yesterday's events.

"C'mon, Y/n!" Marinette puffs, using her body weight to hold up your slumping body, trying with all her might to get you to move forward. "Alya's. . . waiting!"

The squeak of her shoe alerts you before she falls, grabbing the back of her blazer before she could lean forward. "Okay, okay. Stop before you fall over." You say with the slightest of amusement in your voice, continuing your journey to where Alya waited.

"There you two are! I was starting to think you actually bailed on me." Alya teases, weaseling a playful roll of your eyes out of you. "And miss out on the snacks you bought me?" It was half the truth. Also, you're lonely, and Marinette and Alya seemed like the closest you'll get to your dorks back home.

You hope they're okay.

Shielding your frown from the contrasting giggles from the girls, you grabbed the duffle bag you packed for tonight out of the locker. "Okay, I'm ready." You smiled, the gesture not quite reaching the eyes. Marinette squeals with excitement, latching onto you as she exclaims how tonight was the first time in awhile she could have time to herself.

The two broke out into a conversation you weren't keeping track of, their words coming in one ear and out the other, your mind too busy wondering else where. As you passed the stairs that led to the second floor, you spotted a familiar blond talking with his friend.

'They're from the polaroids. The blond must be Adrien.' You thought to yourself, throwing a side glance in Marinette's direction with a grin, an idea sparking. Reaching a hand out to grab the bluenette's attention, your eyes trailed back to the boy to make sure he was still there, only to make unintentional eye contact with him.

You watched how his eyes lit up, widen with glee, as he waves at you with a smile that could cheer up anyone. You were almost dumbfounded, taking a second too long before deciding to return the gesture with a smile of your own-wonky or not.

"What's wrong?" Marinette turns to you at the touch of your hand, shocking you out of your stupor. Making her aware of the very being that makes her go rogue wouldn't be the wisest thing to do now, especially when he's very aware of you.

At the shake of your head, you dismissed her question with a poke to her side, her squealing with a jump away from your vicinity distracting her enough. You sighed with success as you left the courtyard, throwing a glance behind you at the boy of interest.

'That was awfully enduring', you thought to yourself, tuning into the girls conversation with the intent of participating. 'No wonder Marinette's obsessed', you thought with a chuckle, finally allowing yourself to relax once you left the school building.

Imagine your surprise when you walked into Alya's apartment and immediately being greeted by twin sisters-Ella and Etta.

You sat silently on the couch, munching away on one of the many snacks Alya promised you, whilst you watched with mild interest as she chased them around in fits of giggles.

Kids weren't exactly your forte. They were loud and demanding, most times unpredictable, but charmingly cute. There were some days where you'd imagine having a little sibling of your own, causing mischief and such, but as you watched them dodge Alya expertly-running her dry-you'd stick with being the inhibitor instead.

Sticking out your hand as they ran past you, you nonchalantly cheered them on with a high-five, smiling as they stopped their shenanigans momentarily to soak in your approval. You tried not to smile as Alya creeped behind them, arms out, ready to pounce on them. Right, kids can't multitask, could they?

They squealed with joy as their sister encased her arms around them, bursting with laughter as they were lift off the ground. "Alright, you little monsters! That's enough mischief for the day." Alya says, trying her best to hide her fatigue. "It's not us, it's the Sapotis!" The twins say in sync, piking your interest.

The Sapotis?

One glance at Marinette, you could tell she was just as intrigued, the both of you following Alya to the twins room in chance to hear more about them. "You need rest if you wanna be fighting fit for the amusement park tomorrow!" She exclaims, her movement animated to swoon the girls as she tucks them in.

"We don't wanna go to bed, we wanna stay up with you!" Ella says, giving her best puppy eyes. "Yeah, we wanna watch movies and tell each other secrets!" Etta chimes in, playing her pouty lips. When their cute antics didn't work on their sister, they turned to you, shocking you still. "Uh-"

Alya shakes her head, giving you an amused glare as she continues to sway them. "And what kind of zombies will you be at the amusement park if you go to bed late? Show 'em, girls!"

Marinette slumps against you, acting to the best of her ability, as you weakened your posture, fanning your mouth as you yawned. If this was going to get them to sleep, then so be it!

Alya snickers, turning back to the girls who decided sleep was the best option for tonight, blankets tucked under their chin. And just like that, you hide the night to yourselves with no rouge children running about. So you thought.

"You seriously have a technique down with your little sisters!" Marinette exclaims, placing plates and spoons down on the counter. "But who are the. . Sapo-Sapo?"

You snort, dusting your hands free of your snack. "The Sapotis?" You correct her, just as curious to learn about them. Alya pulls open the fridge with a titter, allowing Marinette to bring out the tray of cantelope.

"They're these little monsters from a créole fable, they're always playing pranks and causing all sorts of mischief, but now that we're all alone, I can finally tell you!" Alya pulls out her phone, ready to showcase her findings about a certain bug.

"Apparently Ladybug has been around at least since the Pharaohs! But there's no way the Ladybug we know is 5,000 years old, so I downloaded this great app that analyzed recordings I had of her talking. And based on the frequencies of her voice, it turns out she's a girl our age!"

You raise a brow in almost disproval. 'Another young super heroine? The Universe really needs to pick on someone else', you thought, sparing a look at Marinette to see what she thinks about all this, only to find her twisted with anxiety.

Tilting your head in confusion, you caught movement in the corner of your eye, spotting three empty glasses of orange juice. You pouted at the juice, tapping Alya to wordlessly make it known the 'Sapotis' had stricken, when giggles were heard.

She peaks over the kitchen counter to spot the twins, but they had already ran off to their beds before they could be reprehended. With a groan, she walks back to the girls room to tuck them in once more.

Turning to the anxious bluenette, you opened your mouth to ask her what was wrong, only to be beaten to it. "Oh! You brought the movies right?" Marinette asks, earning a dumbfounded nod from you. "You should take them out! We can't eat fruit without a good movie, don't you think?" She grins, softly pushing you into the direction of your duffle bag.

Kneeling on the ground to search your bag, you watched with mild concern as Marinette moved the plate of fruit to the living room, not paying any attention as you hand dug around for the movies.

"Found you." You mumbled in victory, pulling out the random stack of movies your variant had, only to uncover your mask and web tech. "Shoot!" You exclaimed in shock, calling for the bluenette's attention.

"What's wrong? Did you forget the movies?!" She asks with panic, as if not having movies meant the end of the world for her.

"No, I-"

"What were we saying?" Alya questions the both of you, making you slam your duffle bag shut. "Uh-" Before you could even articulate a response, Marinette ran across the room, taking the movies out of your hands with a sheepish grin. "We were about to watch a movie!" She exclaims, displaying the variety to Alya.

You watched with a raised brow as she throws away the Ladybug based movie, tapping the other repeatedly in hopes to watch it instead. "Oh, right, Ladybug! She's like a college girl!" Alya exclaims, making Marinette slump in defeat.

Opting to silently observe, your eyes bounced between Alya and Marinette, both displaying contrasting emotions. On one hand, you have an excited Alya, who looked to have made a break through her 'unmasking Ladybug' mission. Then there's Marinette, a sweaty, nervous girl who seems to be looking for a reason to deter her.

Favoring Marinette's suspicious behavior, you decided to chime in. "Don't you think there's a reason why she keeps her identity a secret?" You question, choosing to ignore how Marinette's face lit up with gratitude.

And once again, the girls strike again, but this time they ate the fruit along with your poor, tasty snacks. "Okay, now that's just cruel!" You whined as they giggled running away.

Tired of their antics, Alya slams open the door, startling the twins into even more giggles. "Alright, that's enough! Get out of bed one more time and no one will go to the amusement park tomorrow!"

"It's not us, it's the Sapotis!"

Alya glares down at her sisters, hands pressed into her hips. "This is your last warning! No. Joke." And with that, she closes the door with a big sigh.

"What were you saying about Ladybug's identity?" She leans onto the counter, open to hear you out. Marinette busies herself with washing her hands.

"Well, what would happen if you successfully uncover Ladybug's identity? Not only would the whole world would know, but also Hawk Moth." You say, making sure to add "You'd be potentially putting her, along with her family and friends, in danger." Alya frowns. That did it.

Before she could claim she'd keep it to herself, for the last time of the night, the twins outwardly goes against their sister's warning as they clicked the TV on. "That's it!" The girls yelped as she scoops them under her arms, stomping angrily to their rooms for the umpteenth time.

Noticing a little too late, Ella and Etta began to plea to soften their sister up, her anger definite. "Come on, Alya. We won't do it again!" They say in unison as she placed them in their respective beds.

"Yeah? Well, it's too late! We can go to the park when you can behave some other day!" Alya sternly says, turning off the light. "Now go to sleep!"

The twins looked to each other with weary eyes, turning to their beds to try and find warmth and comfort.

Despite the good argument you put up, Alya was still persistent about Ladybug's identity. "I'd keep it a secret. I would even help her!" Alya exclaims, leaning close to you. "Like, if you were Ladybug, I'd cover for you." You blink, casting a glance to Marinette.

"Like I'd ever tell you." You grinned, pushing her away as she gasped dramatically, Marinette giggling behind her hand.

"If I were Ladybug, I would tell both of you, because I tell my best friends everything." Alya claims with a cross of her arms.

"You're right, Alya. You should tell your best friends everything." Marinette pouts with an over-exaggerated frown, reeling in Alya. "So, come on, spill the beans! Are you Ladybug?" Marinette slyly grins, making you both laugh as Alya gasps.

She was quick to shut down the accusation, no matter how cool it would have been if her best friends saw her as THE Ladybug, but she couldn't steal all the spotlight from the hardworking bug.

Finally putting Ladybug's identity to rest, Alya begins to daydream about being a superhero of her own. "Don't you ever wonder what it's like to be a superhero?"

Both you and Marinette tense.

Shoveling a handful of popcorn in your mouth, you shrugged. "Not really." You didn't have to, you were already one, and none of it was like how Alya dreamed. She throws the stray popcorn at you.

"Well, of course I have! I'd be the greatest hero out there, right after Ladybug." You chuckled, wishing it was as easy Alya claimed it would be.

The hero life was mentally draining, and not to mention dangerous. It's scary and hardworking-it weighs you down in life, especially your social life. You recalled the short-period of time, when at the time it felt like an eternity, where you and MJ were split at the seams.

After missing countless amounts of meetups, study sessions, anything you had agreed to do with her, she grew tired of the lack of communication and pulled the plug on your friendship. You felt awful. Miserable.

But you knew what would happen if you told her the truth. It was already too much that Peter knew-without a choice-you couldn't do that to MJ or Ned. But he insisted after he saw how affected the both of you were, telling you to 'woman up' and let MJ know how you felt. God, you missed them.

You were abruptly pushed out of thoughts when a familiar shock crawled up your spine, alerting you of danger close by.

Almost immediately, your eyes looked down the hall, locking on the twins door. You could hear them storming around inside, causing a ruckus loud enough for Alya to hear them. "I totally had it with these kids!" She shouts.

Hearing an obnoxious laughter that certainly didn't belong to Ella or Etta, you scrambled over the couch's arm to stop Alya, but she had already opened the door to her room. "And don't even try to blame this on the-!"

Marinette gasps out in terror when two little creatures trampled out of the twins room and over Alya. "Sapotis?!"
