XVIII. EIGHTEEN

── ✧《✩》✧ ──

I woke up in a random room. As I laid in the silky covers, I could still feel my body swaying. As if I was still in the ocean, fighting the waves. I had a pounding headache. My eyes felt as if they were going to bounce right out their sockets. My stomach turned like crazy and I was unfortunately sick all over again.

"Oh wow," I jumped at the voices. I turned to see the twins in the dark. "We were going to ask if you wanted to join us for dinner or stay here..."

I scanned their facial expressions. Making them out in the dark only gave me a bigger headache.

I pushed myself into an upright position before swinging my feet off the bed. "It's okay..., I think I need some fresh air anyways."

My throat was dry and flaky. I need water.

    "Are you sure?" Hikaru asked.

"Yeah just uh...pass me my shoes, please." I pointed to a random spot.

Kaoru tossed them to me, "We don't mind having the servants drop off something for you. I know the smell of seafood might make it worse?"

"Mmm I dunno—" I put on a pair of slippers before stopping. I don't remember doing to sleep in this outfit. "—why the fuck am I wearing a dresss."

"Haruhi was in a mood I guess" Hikaru started.

"I'm going to be sick again—"

"Yuck, go in the trash bin, please. Anyways, she said something about your father switching out your clothing." Kaoru finished.

"And I guess you guys wouldn't give me a pair of your own shorts and tshirt right?" I raised an eyebrow. Their faces turned beet red—actually no. They looked as if they would explode. "Never mind..."

We slowly made our way downstairs, the talk was actually entertaining but random. We entered a grand dining room—actually we were the first to enter the room.

"Wow, n/n! I've never seen you with your hair down before!" Honey senpai jumped to me.

I put my hands up to my hair, feeling it around. I finally noticed it was indeed down. "Wow, damn I completely forgot. Besides it's always down, I just have it up because it gets in my eyes easily."

At this point the boys came out of the kitchen with a cart. On it were a bunch of silverware.

    "Want a headband?" Hikaru asked.

   "...eh, not really." I denied.

"What about a few bobby-pins or hair clips?" Kaoru dug in his pocket before grabbing a random matching pin.

"What the fuck, you just carry around Bobby pins?" I chose one and clipped one side of my hair out of my face.

"I mean, our mom is a designer." Hikaru started before Kaoru cut him off, "yeah if we didn't have that laying around I would've been more concerned."

Slowly the rest of the club members came out, except for Haruhi. Gosh she does take her time.

I tried my best to set the table but they shooed me away because I couldn't tell all the forks and spoons apart. Instead, I was happily placed upon the cart.

Hikaru happily pushed me around and I handed silverware to Kaoru.

God, it kinda feels really good to have some of the attention on me ... .that's horrible to think like that.

Why would I think like that?

    I'm a horrible sibling—

"Here, Y/n! You can put the final plate on the table!" Honey jumped with a plate full of crab legs.

I jumped in my seat, started.

The smell of crab hit my nose and I felt as if I was going to be sick all over again. The twins were right I guess, "Thanks, I suppose."

    1 - fuck ass twins.
    0 - me.

"Tadah! The crabs are all cooked and ready." Honey called out to them when I finally put down the plate.

Kyouya called out to Tamaki, who was sulking in the corner, "My apologies to you, senpai. We don't have any maids here right now."

"We're the ones making the sudden visit here." Honey smiled. He sent Mori to go call my sister as everyone got settled at a seat.

I obviously sat in front of the only plate that had anything served. It was just a bland looking soup with a little rosemary in the middle. On the side were a bunch of crackers. Not too much of the soup either now that I look at it.

Hikaru shook his head at the sight of Tamaki rolling out from behind the pillar.

He whispered in my ear as he passed my chair, "If he was going to be that depressed..."

"...he shouldn't have started a fight with her in the first place." His brother agreed.

Kyouya took the seat to my left and Mori took the one to my right. I was surprised at that.

Haruhi walked down the steps in a pretty pink dress. We twined. We made eye contact before her lips turned into a frown, I guess she wanted to sit next to me as well. We've never really had a meal this far apart from each other.

"Ohh~!" The twins hooted. "Good job, Haruhi-papa!"

"He always wants me to wear this kind of clothes." She rolled her eyes at the twins' comment.

I'm dead, I see Tamaki watching from behind the pillar. I quickly ushered him over. He was surprised that I actually called him, however he shook his head violently and turned behind the pillar fully.

     I sighed.

I'm not mad at him. I understand his concern to a certain degree. Haruhi and I are no soldiers but we can handle our own shit. There's just ways to express your emotions.

It wouldn't matter any, I saved myself.

I don't need a man to save me.

Haruhi took one of the two open seats that were, unironically, next to each other. One was hers and the other was Tamaki.

We watched as he slithered to the open seat. The air is tense. Suffocating almost.

"Haru-chan, you're so cute!" Honey grins. Trying to lighten the mood.

"The mood is kind of... dead here." Hikaru flatly said.

"It's kind of tense, too." Kaoru agreed.

I rolled my eyes at their bluntness.

"Let's eat, Haru-chan." Honey pointed to the crabs, bless him for trying his hardest. "The crabs we got today should be delicious."

Haruhi snaps a crab leg. The snap echoes through the room. I suppose that was everyone's que to start digging into dinner.

I look at the soup that was placed in front of me, crackers to my left. I was grateful that I had a lighter—unfortunately flavorless—meal.

I laughed at the fact that I was served with a bunch of fancy spoons and forks too.

   Snap.

I jumped at the loud crack of crab. However Haruhi could care less. She kept snapping the crab legs and piling them on a plate. Making sure to take all the meat out first.

   Snap.

   Snap.

   Snap.

Everyone flinched at the cracks. We watched as the mountain of crabs grew.

   What. The. Fuck.

My jaw basically slammed onto the table. I've never even seen her eat so much before—or this quickly?!?

"This crab is delicious..." she smacked her lips. "Something like that."

Tamaki reaches for his crab but can't bring himself to actually eat them.

Haruhi happily snagged them for herself.

Tamaki huffs at this, "Don't you think you're eating too much?"

"Huh? I thought you weren't going to talk to me." She quickly fired back.

"Urk! S-So not cute!" Tamaki clutched his heart.

     Yikes!

Tamaki slams the table as he gets up. His chair scooted behind him and I saw his face go through a wave of emotions.

"All right, I get it." His voice was dry. "You're not going to reflect upon what you did. That's it. I'm sleeping. Kyouya, take me to my room."

Kyouya folds his napkin and pushes his chair out. "Alright. Please excuse me."

And with that, the room was quiet again.

"Hmm...  Maybe I should go learn some karate or something." Haruhi murmured. It was so quiet, if it wasn't dead quiet in the room I would've missed it.

"What? So that's on your mind?" Kaoru frowned.

"Yet, that's your train of thought?" his brother continued.

"We won't stop you from learning or anything..."

"... but that's not the issue here."

They ping ponged each others words.

   "Huh?" She asked.

"Frankly, I also want you to reflect upon your reckless acts like today." Hikaru scolded.

"Why? I didn't give you two any trouble." She deflected. "Besides, I wasn't the only person who dived in the water today."

"Yeah, but at least Y/n could hold her own. We also had a conversation about it earlier." Kaoru frowned.

"Hold her own from what? Not her own life. She's dying—"

"—So what if I'm dying?" I interrupted her.

"Well..I don't mean to put it like that." Her face immediately flashed with guilt.

"No, that is what you meant." I looked her straight in the eyes. "Yeah sure, there are some days where I can barely hold my own head up...and sometimes I do need help."

The room started to spin rapidly but I blinked it away.

   "N/n.."

"But there are also days I don't need anyone." I looked at all the boys. "That goes for all of you as well. So stop underestimating me."

And with that. I quickly walked out the room, ignoring all the calls I was getting. I needed to lay down, I needed to empty my stomach, I needed to get away from here.
