|Apologize| - Connor Kenway

You stumble through the cold snow, grabbing and gripping at the trees, nails clawing at the bark to keep yourself from falling over.

"He's going to die the next time I see him." You grumble, body trembling from anger but also the cold seeping through your clothes.

Ever since Connor has moved to Davenport, you two couldn't be pulled apart. You were either at his side, or he was at yours. Well, all except at this moment. Achilles is your adoptive father and he took you in after finding you on his doorstep. As you grew up, he taught you how to become an assassin. After many long years, Connor showed up at your door step. Connor wasn't let in at first. In fact, Achilles disliked someone on his property so much that Connor was tripped and yelled at one point. You on the other hand wanted to let the boy in.

By this time, you had already lost your sight from a Templar that thought it would be fun to torture you. It ended very badly. After Achilles gave up his tough act, Connor was let in and introduce himself as Ratohnhaké:ton. He explained he wanted to become an assassin and kill a man named Charles Lee. That very moment, you two became the best of friends. And feelings developed as well.

Now about that never leaving each other's side thing? He never did. It didn't matter if you were upset, grumpy, or ill. He was always by your side, making sure you felt loved. He had trouble feeling loved, so you returned his kind favors. Today he wanted to get you out of the house, feeling the cold and not be so cramped up, depressed and unwanted. He was doing a great job in the beginning. You laughed when he joked, he caught your arm when you tripped and fell. Then he saw some redcoats and just ran off, leaving you all alone in the cold wilderness without any sense of direction.

Letting out a shaky breath, you pull your cold hands up to your chest, hoping to keep in the little warmth you had left. You put your back to a tree, bottom lip quivering and teeth chattering. You take a deep breath to call out for Connor but then realize that probably not a smart choice. Who knows what would be lurking around you at the moment. Not saying you can't handle yourself, but it would be difficult to fight off a bear or a pack of wolves with no way to see.

You seem to listen for any kind of movement for the longest time, hoping that Connor would come and get you. If you stayed in the cold snow any longer, hyperthermia would kill you eventually. The crunching of snow makes you flinch and bite your tongue. When something warm brushes against your cheek, you let out a high pitched scream, scared out of your mind. Just before you activate your hidden blade and stab the thing standing in front of you, a quiet: 'shhh' and a warm hug makes you relax.

"Relax. It is just me." Connor's smooth voice eases your nerves.

You wrap your arms around his waist, teeth clenched and eyes squeezed shut. Your shaking figure doesn't release his warm body for a long time, just enjoying his presence like many times before. You pull back, narrowing your eyes and what you thought would be his face. At that moment, Connor knew he was in big trouble.

"Where d-did you go?" You shiver, digging your nails into your forearm.

His warm eyes roll over your ghostly pale face, feeling bad for just leaving you like that. But hey, he got information about Charles Lee's location. So in a way, it was worth it, but it wasn't worth it. He reaches out a hand and puts it on the side of your face, to which you slightly leaned onto his touch.

"There were some redcoats. I got some information about Charles Lee. Sorry about leaving you like that, (Y/n)." Connor whispers, his voice laced with worry.

You grab his hand on your face, peeling it off your cheek and throwing it down. It was your turn to give a bit of pain. Your toes were probably blue as well as your lips and fingers. You use his hand to guide up his arm, over his shoulder and to his face that you have never seen. He explained every little detail of what he looked like, but you still couldn't picture it. No matter. You still loved him for him.

"What are you doing?" Connor questions, raising a brow at your sly movements.

You give an innocent smile, moving your cold hand from his cheek and to his nose, using your thumb and index finger to pinch really hard. He grabs your hand and pulls it away from his nose, his large, warm hand engulfing yours.

"Ow." His monotone voice hisses.

"That's what you get for leaving me out here all by myself! I'm blind, dude. You know... I can't see what I'm doing?" You use both of your hands to point to your eyes that no longer worked in the seeing department.

You poke at his built up chest, trying to hurt him in any way. He watches you with a soft smile, letting you poke at his chest. By now, your cheeks were bright red, clearly noticeable. Not just because of the cold, but also because you were embarrassed. Giving up, you cross your arms and lean back against the tree with an unhappy expression.

For a long time, he didn't do anything. He just stood there in front of you. He didn't say anything, he didn't do... anything. You reach out to see if he was still there, and sure enough he was.

"Why are you so quiet?" You ask, wiping away the tears that pricked at your eyes from the cold air.

His finger is the placed under your chin, lifting your head up. With burning cheeks, you almost pull away from shock. His forehead touches yours, his hot breath tickling your face. Even if you wanted to escape, it was impossible. You were pinned to the tree that kept you safe, one of Connor's hands placed on your hip and the other keeping your head up by gently holding your chin.

"W-what are you doing?" You whisper, barely able to get out words.

"Apologizing," he whispers back, the hair standing on the back of your neck.

In an instant, his warm lips are placed over your cold, blue ones. The bottom of your eyelid twitches, unable to process everything so fast.

You thoughts were: "Okay. Either this is a cruel, cruel dream or I'm dead. Or both... This couldn't be real, right. Or it is- IT IS."

Snapping back into reality, your hands move away from your side and over Connor's shoulders. You lock your arms around his neck, tangling your hands into his soft, black hair as you kissed back. Both of your lips mold perfectly together, moving in sync. It was complete bliss for the both of you.

He pulls away, feeling dizzy and all warm. You blink multiple times, still processing the thing that played out just now. After coming to terms with that fact that you kissed the guy you've loved since day one, a huge, toothy grin inches up your face.

"Apology accepted!" You exclaim with a laugh.

"Glad to know. Now come on, let us get back to Achilles." Connor pulls away from you, the warmth you felt a second ago now gone.

With a heavy sigh, you start to walk forward, holding out your hands to make sure you didn't run into anything.

"(Y/n)..."

"Yes, Connor?"

"You are going be wrong way."

You stop dead in your tracks, letting out a small: 'oh'. Connor grabs your arm and faces you towards the right direction, pushing you forward. You get his hint, continuing to walk with no problems...

until you ran straight into a tree.

~Extended Ending~

Achilles taps his foot against the wooden floor, glaring at Connor while you bled from the nose, blood gushing from your hand that was held over your nose to stop the bleeding.

"Explain, please," Achilles nods towards Connor, wanting an explanation.

You raise up a hand that wasn't covered in blood, giving a cheeky smile.

"I ran into a tree," you start.

Achilles' stern expression turns into ._. while Connor stared at you with wide eyes.

"And I kissed a really cute guy!" You cheer, your eyes rolling into the back of your head and you pass out from the blood loss.

I hope this was good enough. 😂
